Is this what is feels like to have a reblog-conversation on Tumblr? I feel more and more as a part of the Greater Tumblr community each day. Now as to the post: I do wholeheartedly agree that Nori is to be held to the same scrutiny as Khan. Regardless of her motivation, she nonetheless had abandoned her family for just shy of two decades. And she needs to rebuild her relationship with Uzi just as much as Khan. I do, however, feel like Nori is in far shallower waters than Khan. The entirety of those two decades, Nori was tirelessly searching for a way to defeat the Solver and save Copper-9 from meeting the same fate as Earth, and therefore saving every drone living on it (aka Uzi). Her abandonment is fueled by her desire to protect her daughter regardless of the consequences, and, from her perspective, Uzi still has a loving parent that will be there to protect her and provide emotional support through it all. Yes, there's a question of why Nori didn't at least visit the colony (I can think of 3 options: [1] she's physically incapable of leaving the Cathedral because of Alice and the Sentinels, or the absence of the elevator keybug, [2] she's unable to reach the Bunker safely due to the Murder Drones patrolling the surface, or [3] she knows she won't be able to leave Uzi again if she sees her, and she can't compromise Uzi's life and future due to her own emotions), but this shouldn't disregard the previous point. On the other hand, Khan has been with Uzi the entirety of her life, he wasn't deeply preoccupied with protecting the colony/planet or doing non-stop maintenance on it (WDF - along with Khan - canonically just played cards all day). And despite his availability to be a parent, resources to be a parent, and duty to be a parent - he still abandoned Uzi to the same degree as Nori. It is genuinely interesting to hear your and others' opinions on the matter and I'm glad you've shared yours. I'm also pleased to be stood corrected to see the Yeva-Nori-Khan ship to have an earnest following
Question tangentially related related to how you're basically THE noryeva guy. What's your opinion of this?

First of all, it is a great honor to be bestowed the title of THE NoriYeva guy. I shall cherish this to the end of days. Now to the matter of the post. No person preaches the gospel when it comes to shipping fictional characters. There is no such thing as "right" or "wrong" ships and no "right" or "wrong" way of shipping fictional characters. It is the right of every individual to ship and enjoy whatever fictional ship they so desire, regardless of ANY context (big accent on fictional characters, fiction ≠ reality, real life rules don't apply). But it is also NOT a right to attempt to enforce one's own opinions or choices onto others, regardless of how righteous one might feel doing it (one is still entitled to their opinions and/or views, and/or preferences, but they are to keep those to themselves). And people who claim moral superiority and/or attempt to bully others for their ships should not be on the internet until they grow up. With the disclaimer out of the way, the following will be my personal opinions on the matter and should be treated as such. I don't like Khan as a person. He has committed too many wrongs to his family on a systematic level, only starting to pay attention to his daughter when her behavior began to threaten the colony and/or his reputation within the colony. While he has taken some steps towards improvement and rebuilding the relationship with Uzi by the end of the show, those are not enough to atone for his neglect, and therefore not enough to grant him redemption. One might even argue that all of his actions by the end of the show still have nothing to do with his daughter and are purely something to protect the colony and/or his reputation. This leads to Khori. Even if there was a genuine relationship there before, that ship sailed once Nori died. I can't see Nori forgiving him for how he treated her daughter nor seeing him in the same light as before death. While I still can see a future where Khan rebuilds his relationship with Uzi, I really can't see a future where Khori come back together. The best option would be "divorced parents on friendly terms." At least this would make sense from a writing standpoint if a continuation for the story is to be written (though I'm sure the talented fic-writing community has cooked up some quality post-canon Khori). As to SolverLilies, while we know little to nothing about Yeva in the canon, this just feels like a very wholesome ship with way too much potential to pass on. And when it comes to tossing Khan into a SolverLilies polycule, to me this feels like an attempt to appease the shipping community and not a genuine desire for the ship. I can't really see Khan having much synergy or chemistry with Yeva. I have seen the Kharem ship (Khan, Nori, Yeva, and Alice) and while it's absolutely hilarious and I love it for it, it's still not something that would work on a more grounded level. So the best option for me would probably be SolverLilies with Khan being the ex-husband, who acts as a family friend

As an enjoyed of the old women Yuri, myself 🤣
I have to ask, if you have the time of course, I'd hate to be a bother.
How do you feel about Louisa Elliot, while we all know in the show she's an abusive racist woman who hurt her own daughter on top of the literal slave robots she so easily discarded, but in fanon we can do whatever we want. Is she kind of just too important to have an opinion on, or the fact we don't exactly "see" her, or?
Sorry if that's a lot and or loaded 🥺
I unfortunately have quite a bit of experience with people like Louisa. At the very least with people whom I perceive Louisa to be like.
I feel like Louisa and and James are a family built on reputation, aesthetics, and control.
Louisa is the kind of person to flaunt her possessions and achievements to others, her daughter being one of said possessions. She makes sure Tessa is perceived as the best (even better if others start comparing their children to her), while simultaneously disregarding Tessa's achievements as something that happened solely due to Louisa's influence, money, control, etc. (and in most cases, Louisa's actual influence is quite disruptive to Tessa actually achieving anything).
She's a person who wants to have a doll or a pet, not really a daughter; to be able to control every aspect of her life, looks, behavior, etc. especially when it comes to Tessa's influence on Louisa's own image (as a mother or a member of the Elliot household, or whatever else).
And when Tessa makes a mistake, Louisa is the first to punish her. Be that physically, or something more lasting like psychological torment, bringing her down, dismantling her character, self worth, and confidence, etc. She's likely quite keen on finding Tessa's weak spots and exploiting them to their fullest potential, utilizing emotional blackmail, threats of violence, or threats of isolation. All the while not really "seeing" Tessa at all, only the image of her Louisa built in her mind.
Despite a general thought that might occur from this that Louisa is very unhappy in her marriage or is also being abused in some way, I don't actually think that is true. In fact, she might be extremely happy in her marriage, and not just due to the wealth or influence either. She might genuinely love James.
These are my general thoughts on Louisa Elliot

Happy National Vyshyvanka Day!
Tumblr media
3rd Thursday of May (in 2025 - May 15th) is a Ukrainian National Holiday - Day of the Vyshyvanka
Vyshyvanka (Вишиванка) is a traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirt
The holiday was introduced in 2006 as a way to celebrate ancient Ukrainian traditions and as a symbol of the revival of Ukrainian culture after centuries of systematic erasure through occupation

Lately, there has been an uptake in the amount of hate and harassment towards a variety of fellow community creators. This is neither an issue limited to a single fandom nor an issue confined to the internet space. And while this is a symptom of much larger and more systematic problem way above my pay grade, I will only focus on a small part of it.
Everyone is entitled to both their opinions and tastes. These might not align with your own and that is ok.
You are fully allowed to disagree with those opinions, enquire about them, discuss them, and share your own opinions on it.
What you are NOT allowed, however, is to harass a person for having different opinions or tastes than you. You may not threaten, berate, or insult a person for their opinions and tastes.
When sharing, discussing, or disagreeing with opinions, be respectful of others.
tl;dr : be respectful.
