Kazeki was really important to me growing up. You bring up similar paranoias I have. I consider it a masterpiece honestly and while it's important to criticize the popularity of fetishization and homophobia in mainstream yaoi/shounen-ai (I'm bigender and queer so), I get worried that well-written queer manga automatically is assumed as yaoi, which isn't productive or fair, especially in Kazeki's case where it predates the yaoi genre's existence. Idk I get anxiety about having to disclaimer?

LEGIT I totally get it. I kinda stumbled on Kaze ki by watching an artist voiceover “difference between lgbt media and yaoi?” And tbh? It’s hard to distinguish, because Y’know, male porn is not considered yaoi, or it’s made for consumption without the stigma of yaoi.

And also, much boys love genres are changing generally for more sweeter stories? But it’s the fact that authors blatantly regard lgbt stigma and do it because the characters are male and it’s hot is the distinction 😂 fetisization specifically

If boys love genre can get to the standard of “these are lgbt stories and we respect gay men” rather than “we use gay men to fulfill your fantasies ;)” that shift right there would get rid of the stigma altogether.

But still, we’re see changes in the world, slowly yet steadily for sure

What do you prefer, an anime adaptation of Kaze (with each episode telling the story of the manga) or Takemiya translating the entire work into English?

Takemiya translating into English!! There’s legit something about the manga style that I ADORE.

Maybe it’s just how serge’s floofy hair is drawn?? Or how much prettier Gilbert is, I just prefer the manga than the anime :0

I really really detest yaoi manga. But after I watched one of my fave speedpaint artists talk about the nature of yaoi and it’s difference between what is lgbt. And it hella got me thinking

Either she or YouTube recommended a video that cites a bunch of gay ambiguous Japanese media series that explores being gay and laying foundations?? Kaze to ki was in there! And I was like “damn a character of pure gold trying to change a hot disaster for the better?? I’m interested”

The tragedy of Gilbert’s situation and Serge’s unyielding optimism just really kept me reading. And I was sad no one else made posts about the series! And then I made this blog. And here we are :D

I've read up to the end of volume 11,but I can't seem to find the rest of the volumes in English online.So far,I've been using the mangarock app to read kazeki,yet the only volumes that have been translated are 1-11,and it's been a year since it has been last updated I'm not sure where to read the rest.Do you perhaps know?(I guess I could occupy myself with other manga that is similar to kazeki,or read volumes 7-9 because I ended up skipping them because of Arc fatigue)

Honestly bruh, I have no idea. 1-11 volumes up until this point are the only ones that have been translated in English!

We’ll have to wait for official translation or someone to hire a translator to translate the volumes 😭

Ehi there! So, I'm an italian fan of Kazeki (it was recently released in Italy and I'm still SHOOK they actually translated it, like... The manga I've been angsting about for 4 years, what a coincidence) and just wanted to tell you that this blog right now is literally Heaven, for me!
