Just devoured old habits die screaming and I loved every part of it! Favorite things- Percy knowing exactly why Beth broke up with him, everything about Piper/reynas wedding, the water scene with hazel frank Beth and Percy, the dress, Percy still being totally gone for her, Annabeth being so totally gone for him, the slow dance, Anna Beth yelling at him to call her Beth, the speaker phone call with Sally, the ring!!!!!!, Percy drinking about having a ring made for Beth, annabeth drinking about the love of her life, I really could go on and on 🫶🫶

you know the fic is going to hit when it’s multi chap, falls in that like 20,000-60,000 word range, and has a taylor swift or hozier lyric as the title. like i immediately knew this fic would eat and i was right.

it was actually so funny bc for the longest time, i couldn’t figure out a title (the documents of the chapters are literally all titled wtf c1, wtf c2, wtf c3, etc) and i was like “i want a taylor lyric and something about habits” and as soon as i said that out loud, “old habits die screaming” clicked in my head and i was like. duh how did i not think of this sooner

I waited until it was completed but I just finished ohds and I am obsessed. The fact that he was waiting for her and never gave up on her? That he loved her all along? Absolutely dead. The thing you just posted about him looking at the ring and hoping and praying he’d get to give it to her? I’m destroyed. I can’t get over the reveal that he was always planning to wait and get back together with her. Like it makes me so desperately want a snippet of the fic from his pov not that you owe us anything more obviously like an epilogue and bonus chapter? You give us so much more than we deserve! Thank you so much for writing this fic and giving us this content it truly made my week! I endlessly appreciate this work and will be rereading it over and over again!

i wish there had been a camera on me when the dots in my brain connected and i realized i needed to write him knowing she was lying the entire time like everything clicked for me then🙂‍↕️ i’ve considered writing a snippet or two from percy’s pov because i love writing from percy’s perspective, especially when it comes to him thinking about annabeth, but i don’t think ill ever write anything substantial enough to qualify for another chapter on ao3, so if i do, they’ll probably just be posted here🫡

On a list of things Annabeth Chase wanted to do, sharing a hotel room with her ex-boyfriend of seven months was at the very bottom. Especially when the entire reason she'd ended things with him had been a complete and total lie, and she was still very much not over him. But for her best friend's destination wedding, she would be doing exactly that.

She just had to get through four nights of close quarters with her extremely hot ex that she was in love with, who couldn't keep his eyes to himself if his life depended on it, all while the voices in her head (and her best friends) whispered to her that they should've never broken up in the first place. How hard could it be?

Before Annabeth could even tell him that she was nervous, that maybe it wasn’t a good idea to surprise his mother with not only Annabeth’s presence at Sunday breakfast but also the news that they were back together, Percy was pushing open the door to his mom’s apartment.

“Mom!” he called, holding Annabeth’s hand tightly in his own. 

“Hi, honey!” Sally’s voice rang through the hallway, indicating she was in the kitchen. Annabeth’s stomach grumbled at the sweet scent of pancakes.

“I have a surprise for you,” he sang, walking further into the house. They stood in the doorway of the kitchen where Sally faced away from them. Her brown curls were tied back with a white bandana.

“Beth,” he murmured, gently pulling her to straddle him as he sat up. She leaned against him, head dropping to his shoulder. He shook her softly. “Baby,” he drew the word out, causing a sleepy smile to pull at her lips. She lifted her head.

“This also feels illegal,” she whispered. Her brain could not possibly function at this hour (10 am) when he looked like that (soft and stupidly hot).

He chuckled. “Sorry, but this is mildly important,” he said, forcing Annabeth to blink the tiredness away. He waited patiently until she was awake enough. His thumbs drew slow circles on her thighs.
