so, after a little over 2 years, unraveled is over. might as well pop back into this blog for a bit.
unraveled has been an incredibly fun series, and running this blog let me make a bunch of friends from the unraveled and overboard zines. i really loved finding and sharing art.
unraveled was also getting kind of stale, being a very limited video format. and it gave me a subway surfer addiction.
i rewatched the pokerap a couple days ago, and it just violently flashed back to junior year and singing along every day and rewatching all of brian’s videos every week and scrolling through the tag to find art to reblog. and it was just. a really nice time. comfort content, you know?
if any of you are rude to brian in his youtube comments or twitter replies about this i will kill you in real life. support him on patreon if you can <3
i drew the ever iconic “no words” moment for @polygonzinezone‘s fantastic overboard zine! please go check it out - so many artists contributed such incredible and hilarious art based on all the best moments of overboard!
I support and respect all of you who are boycotting Polygon until they increase pay for their POC employees.
I will not be boycotting their streams or videos (at this time) and will almost definitely be posting new Polygon content. If this means that you morally don't feel right following me anymore I completely understand. I want to support creators during Vox's pay freeze by consuming their content.
I'm going off of @petranaradulovic's message (below) for my logic on this.
polygon’s video team has always been very white, and so is the fanbase. they’ve only hired two people to the video team in the last three years which explains why things haven’t changed much, but it doesn’t explain why poc are being paid less. i won’t be posting polygon content other than fan art until there’s confirmation from the vox media union has bargained for equal pay.
