So our neighbours that are moving a house into the lot next to us, one of the guys helping out had mentioned he was really impressed with Rollei. He knew Rollei back when he was with his old family and he said he was a mean bugger, but now that we have him he has seen a dramatic improvement in his behaviour and said he was really impressed. It's funny what some love and attention can do. Rollei is definitely very defensive in our yard, but generally very outgoing with people when we are off the property. It's nice to hear. And we haven't really done anything. We've just been taking care of him and giving him love. I guess he just needed the reassurance from his humans to be more comfortable and he wasn't getting that before.

Boss texted me this morning, asked me to "edit some documents" this morning. I said okay. Then he says he needs me to do intake briefs????? Boss, that's NOT the same thing.

And come to find out he needs them NOW because he's literally got court this morning. He gave me an hour and a half heads up to get this done and then didn't tell me there was a deadline until I got online at 9 and court is 10. And then we didn't get it done because I was having technical issues because I don't want all the files in onedrive downloaded to my home computer, I access everything through the cloud and it sometimes gives me grief. So then he ended up having to leave for court without things being done and he's just going to tell them we were having technical difficulties and he will bring the documents later today. So I just got them done right after he left, but like what the FUCK dude.

Got sent some more info on my mortgage prior to my appointment at the bank to sign documents. My mortgage payments will be the same as our rent in the house Jon and I have lived in for the last 6 years. Like nearly exactly the same. And we pay fuck all for rent, ngl. I got such a good deal on this house. So the money I will save by not driving a half hour one way for work every day and not having to feed Jon (he has weird preferences sometimes that tend to cost me extra money) should cover a lot of my other new expenses, like insurance and whatever else. So I think I have been panicking for no reason. I should very easily be able to afford this and be spending basically the same as what I already am on living expenses. And I'll be living alone with my critters in a big house.

Jon woke up grouchy this morning and was snapping at the animals and being grumpy with me and I am so looking forward to not having someone else's poor mood affecting mine like this. It's not fair that he wakes up in a terrible mood and I have to suffer with it. In the past when I've done the same thing he gets upset and I'm not allowed to do that because then it makes HIM grouchy, too. But he doesn't seem to care when his mood affects mine like that. He's allowed, but I'm not.

So looking forward to all the freedom I'll gain by living alone in my own house.

Okay, here's the thing.

I'll be living alone. I think I'd like to have a dog in the house that is a little scarier than Sprocket is. There is a GSD breeder I have my eye on. She has 2 litters rn, tho, and I'm not sure if there are any pups that haven't been placed yet, but also I don't wanna raise a puppy right now. So......here I am, on petfinder, looking at shepherd looking creatures and cooing because I can't help myself.

I think I need to stop telling people about some of my hobbies. People find out I can crochet and suddenly they're sending me tiktoks of crochet things they think are cool and ask me to make it for them. Like no? I crochet for pleasure and for myself and sometimes I'll make gifts for people, but that's kinda my own timeline and decision. Idk, it's sweet that people are sharing my hobby with me, in a way, but it's a little irritating to be almost demanded to make something. Would be better if they asked me to show them how to make it instead. Crocheting together sounds like more fun.
