What is 'Luxury' To You?
Luxuryβa word that conjures images of grand mansions, designer clothes, and lavish vacations. But what does it truly mean? Merriam-Webster defines luxury as "the condition of abundance or great ease and comfort," and "an indulgence in something that provides pleasure, satisfaction, or ease." From its historical roots linking it to indulgence and even sin, the concept of luxury has always been about more than material wealth.
Popular culture, particularly Hollywood, reinforces a glossy version of luxury: red carpets, opulent parties, and a life of excess. Yet, is that all there is to it? Many aspire to this lifestyle, drawn by its allure, while others find luxury in far simpler joys. This leads to the question: is luxury only about grandeur, or can it be something deeply personal and meaningful?
For me, luxury is not about extravagance but authenticity. Growing up in a middle-class family with its financial challenges shaped my understanding of what abundance means.
I dream of wealthβnot for indulgence but to eliminate money worries, to live freely, and to focus on what truly matters: family, nature, and a life of intentional simplicity. My vision of luxury is a modest French chateau surrounded by greenery, a home where every corner tells a story of care and love.
We live in a world driven by consumerism, where happiness is often equated with owning the latest gadgets or wearing high-end brands. But what if luxury wasnβt about owning more but about appreciating what we already have? True richness lies in moments of gratitude, mindfulness, and meaningful connectionsβa warm meal, a serene walk, or laughter shared with loved ones.
Luxury, then, is not a singular idea but a deeply personal journey. So, what is luxury to you? Letβs explore this on my Patreon β¬οΈ together.

"And you ask yourself: Where are your dreams? And you shake your head and say: How quickly do the years fly by! And again you ask yourself: What have you done with your years? Where have you buried your best days? Did you live or not?"
It has been a long week, a disappointing series of days. Yet... there is more incoming. Staying on to see the storm through.
