buen dia! Today (the 29th) is our last day in Usuaia ;-; Tomorrow we鈥檙e taking another plane to El Calafate, which should take about 2-3 hours?? Anyways, kinda sad to be leaving such a beautiful place. Im just starting to get used to the weather and honestly I wouldn鈥檛 mind living some place cold, I just need the right clothes and wine to warm me up. Of course though, I鈥檝e never actually been to a place like this in their winter season, so I can鈥檛 get ahead of myself.
Okie well I hope you have a great day and I鈥檒l update you soon enough heh.

buenas tardes! I woke up at 3am today, yay me, then immediately getting ready for the day. Breakfast was the same as always and just as always an AMAZING view, we were picked up at 8.30 sometime close to 9. This was the 4x4 driving excursion tour and our driver Miguel was super friendly 10/10 just like Loco. We had another family of 3 join us and that made up our whole group. The first meeting spot was a restaurant/bar/cafe near the road. We were given 20 minutes to look around, get something quick to eat/drink. The restaurant was built on the hill next to the big valley before the mountains and there was a small lake, which was really cute. Then we drove a little further to come upon a lookout called the "mother-in-law" lookout, I sort of still don't get it, but anyways our next destination was the bigger lake that we saw from afar in the lookout. THERE believe it or not, we went kayaking. It was beautiful to see and feel the water up close. The tour provided some tea and pie as snacks as well. At this point, I realized that the same people were stopping at the same places we were and also realized all of us were the same tour, just separated into different cars.
After both groups had gone, we came upon the final portion of the tour, which was driving through the forest in easy/safe, but fun terrain. There were deep puddles and when we reached the shore, Miguel drove into the late a few times, which had me trippin. It was cool hmm. Lunch was gladly provided for us at an old rustic cabin that was our starting point for our trekking on the second day here in Ushuaia. One of the drivers is TALENTED peeps, let me tell you, in cooking meat. I have not had that much meat in a long time, but honestly this is one I do NOT regret. Also do not come at me, I did try to go vegetarian, but I think what I'm really going for is just eating way less meat. It was lamb, which I believe is Argentina's specialty, there was also chicken as an option, just as good, but I preferred the smokey, juicy taste of the lamb. There we were able to have good conversations with the other family of our tour group. I love connecting with people over food, wine, and simple conversation. This time, as I usually do, I let my parents do the talking and intervene only once in a while, but I think if I ever come across this opportunity again, I'll try to open up more, maybe haha. Anyways, now it is 6.50pm and we are back at the hotel resting. If my parents wake up again we'll go downtown to walk around more and hopefully, i can buy some omiyage for my friends back home uwu. Okay have a bueno rest of the day!!

buen dia! I will quickly go through what happened this day because I finally have time to catch up!! Today (the 27th), we were going to do another trekking adventure to another lake. So same schedule as the day before, eat breakfast at 7am and get picked up at 8am. The tour guide who came to pick us up somehow seemed familiar and we realized it was another guide who helped us the day before. He made a joke about how we wanted to go to the same spot, the second time in a row, my mom couldn't believe it, but she booked the same tour one day after the other. Exact same tour my peeps HA. The sad explanation was that my mom saw the two tours online and thought they were completely different. The title of one was "Laguna Esmeralda" and the other being "Emerald Lake", so she booked for both oof. Anyways, after that we were just dropped off at the agency's office, complained (in a nice way), and we ended up going to the port where a bunch of tour agencies held their offices. It was the same place we found the penguin tours, a small center by the port that held an array of available tours. We looked and looked and ended up finding a tour for the national park of Ushuaia. Our tour guide was an amazing lady who named herself "Caballo Loco", this will be explained later. Anyways, our fellow tourists were from the cruise that just docked, that morning I think, it was Oceania. One couple was from New Zealand and another couple from Scotland, I think. They were all great company. Now, we drove to the national park, while caballo loco was giving all sorts of information along the way. Actually, on our way there there was an accident, a lady's car had completely flipped over and was on the side of the road, luckily she was taken to the hospital. A lot of stuff goes down in Ushuaia, actually.
We arrived at the entrance to the park and payed a small fee, then drove through just to go sight seeing throughout. Caballo Loco along the way was very informative and kept my interests for the most part. We visited a resting area for those who came to the park, then visited a lake, and the best part we drove to "El Fin del Mundo". It has a sort of eerie feel to it and I love the way it sounds. Anyways, I give this tour a complete 10/10, Caballo Loco was great.
After, when they dropped us off at downtown we walked to a place called "Bamboo". It is a Asian/Chinese buffet and according to Loco, it has great food, after being closed 12 times and changing owners a few times. From my perspective, I have tasted asian food that is better, but it was not terrible at all. If I ever say anything is not great, do not take my word for it and completely disregard it, go, see for yourself what you think. By this time it was already sort of late and I think we headed back to Los Nires. That's actually all I remember, I think that's when we all knocked out early. ON TO THE NEXT!!

Good morning from Ushuaia! I hope your Christmas went swell or if you don't celebrate that, your gift giving day, if you do that.
This day was a really calm experience and sometimes I wish California had stuff like this that is somewhat more accessible. Pretty much I woke up at 1.30am-ish and couldn't go back to sleep, so I just ended up getting ready for the day and laying in bed waiting for everyone to wake up. When they did, we had breakfast at 7am, when the hotel's breakfast opens. The dining hall has SUCH a beautiful view of the mountains, I think they are on the Chile side though. Regardless it is quite the sight to see in the morning with some hot cocoa. The food options didn't exactly vary much, but they were all my type of food, carbs and pastries. Of course there were small sandwiches with a slice of ham and cheese or just slices of ham and cheese alone. There also were three different kinds of croissants, plain, glazed, and sugar powdered croissant with Dulce de Leche filling. Then there were your basic morning drinks, orange juice, water, milk, and this is not a drink, but there was also yogurt. There were more, but I did not exactly explore any further because I don't drink coffee. LASTLY, there was a bowl of cut-up fruits in some sort of orange juice, my parents tried and recommended it.
After breakfast we went back to the room to prepare our things to get picked up at 8am. Our tour/trekking guide's name was Ezekial (not sure how to spell), he did a good job of keeping us interested throughout the tour. We picked up other families/tourists, then drove on over to the starting spot of our hiking. It was a sunny day, so actually a lot warmer than yesterday. The tour provided walking sticks for everyone, also a packed lunch that we would be eating at the lagoon. Then we started walking through the forest on an easy path, we followed the sky blue tags. Ezekial spoke about how by the time the trees matured they would fall over because the soil is so shallow, at one point a tree had broken and was already halfway broken from the trunk and he had to actually completely pull it down so that no one would get hurt if it actually came crashing down one someone accidentally. It was pretty dope to watch. We walked through a valley after the forest, there was a lot of mud, sort of therapeutic because you would feel it through your shoe...Anyways, the water that was coming down from the lagoon was so cold, but clear and sort of a emerald color because it came down from the glaciers in the mountains above. When we finally made it, it was so beautiful, its sort of just this small area with a bit of forest surrounding the lagoon, super windy, but worth the walking. The lagoon has a really nice name, pretty sure I'm right, "Laguna Esmeralda". Search it up, you might want to take the same trekking tour. I was trying to be "healthy" and ate the apple they provided, but then ended up eating one of the sweet snacks they had called "Negro" (??). QUALITY my people, it is like Choco-pie, but no marshmallow. After like, 15 minutes we went back the way we came, taking some detours to get back to the starting spot.
They drove us all back to downtown and my mom wanted to take a last minute tour, therefore by the port we found one to see the penguins and sea lions on the small islands. The boats name was "Massimo I" a bunch of families and couples were on this tour. It took about 4-5 hours to complete this whole trip. I think the best part was seeing the penguins last, I forgot what kind they are, but they are the smaller kind, compared to the king penguins. After 15 minutes staying with the penguins we left and arrived back at the port, close to an hour later.
We had dinner at this restaurant named "Moustacchio" and it had many good options. When the food came out it seemed really fresh, meaning just came off the stove. It also had this sort of homey vibe, which was relaxing. By that time it was already 10pm, but I forgot since we're on this side of the world the sun sort of stays up, so it was still light out, which had me trippin.
We took a taxi back to the hotel and this was the day my phone died and i couldn't charge it. Okay, so that was it, nothing grand, but it was all good.

hello folks! Right now it is 3.36am and I am sitting in the bathroom typing this haha. My sleeping pattern will forever be messed up tsk tsk. Anyways, from Buenos Aires we took a flight to Ushuaia. It was about 3 hours, just a domestic flight using Argentina Airlines. I realized I should be a little more informative of where I am staying if I want to make this some sort of travel blog I guess? I sat in the aisle seat and the man sitting next to me was super interesting the whole time. He had one of those small, super thick books and he kept looking at the map of South America, while glancing outside the window once in a while. He also brought out another book that was of constellations, which was pretty cool, so I thought maybe he's some sort of astrologist doing some research of a sort, I wish him luck with his endeavors!! Once we arrived and got our luggage, the agency that will be hiking with us picked us up from the airport. I forgot their name, but I will tell you later when I remember. Anyways, our hotel is a little farther from where tourists tend to stay and we have a grand view of the town below, which is really nice. The hotel is called "Los Nires Hotel". It has a sort of old, but polished cabin feel to the design. The receptionist was super nice and helpful with finding a taxi, obviously though, I am pretty sure every hotel is the one who does that for you. It is always heated, so actually its pretty hot, especially in the bathroom. My room is on the ground floor, so I can see the town and the road in front. I am sure that the rooms across from me or on the other side get a view of the river/lake (??) instead. Since today was Christmas, not many places were open, except some restaurants, so we decided to get a dinner/lunch meal at a place I forgot the name of.
Argentina, I think, is more known for their meat-based dishes, so my decision to get something vegetarian was not really the best choice. Pretty much what the Sandwich contained was cooked red bell peppers, asparagus, and eggplant with some vinaigrette (I think) in between a thick sort of bread. I think the bread overpowered the vegetables and the vegetables were few in slices so it wasn't completely appetizing. I should have gotten like a hamburger or steak maybe, from now on that is what I will do. We had some taste of red wine named "Marcus" and my parents were having a grand time. After that we walked through the street, then headed towards the port area. At this point it was super windy because there was nothing to block the wind from sweeping us away, I was actually being pushed back. Now, the view of the lake/river (??) was spectacular, just blue as always and the ice cold wind freezing your cheeks. We took some pictures and went back to the hotel by taxi. Then we knocked out, again. This is the reason why I randomly woke up at 1am and cannot go back to sleep, it is currently 4.10am. I am living my best life out here, I hope you are too ;) I may try going back to sleep, maybe not, anyways Merry Christmas and we're almost at New Years, so yay! Oyasuminasai...

Lessons to learn...
Make sure to bring the correct converter for the outlets, luckily the ones we have work fine, but other times we don't have the right one. SO prepare peeps...
The ones in Argentina have diagonal eyes and a mouth, also with more of a rectangular shape than it is circular, BUT if all you have is the one with two circular eyes, then that's the one we have as well, so you may as well survive, no worries.

buenos noches! Merry Christmas Eve! It is already 1.20am here in Buenos Aires. Last night I fell asleep super late because of jet lag, it was close to 5am when I knocked out. Anyways, today was pretty calm, nothing too energy consuming. Our tour was going to pick us up by 9am, so we woke up around 7.30am to eat breakfast in the hotel restaurant. It was buffet style and there was only one couple in the dining room when we arrived. I immediately aim for the pastries/carbs area and take about 3-4 different items and one banana. Then I remembered, I promised myself before the trip that I would watch what I ate because usually I never do. Anyways, I got this sort of sweet spread, called Dulce de Leche. It had a really caramel look to it, but didn't exactly taste like caramel. It was really good!! I had this croissant that was glazed PERFECTLY and put the spread all over, experience of a lifetime. Next we went back to the room to finish getting ready and waited in the lobby for the tour to pick us up. We toured around a place called Palermo, close to the downtown area of Buenos Aires. We first stopped by the public university of Buenos Aires, many people come to study here. There is a park next to the building and it has a sculpture of a large metallic silver flower and at night it lights up. It was a gift from a previous student, who is now an architect.
There was a monument of a politician who is very famous in Argentina. Eva Peron is her name, she fought for women's right and cool fact here, Argentina was the first country in South America to grant women a right to vote.
Real quick, I would like to apologize if my writing is bad from here on and I don't transition smoothly, it is really late and I would like to sleep, but I have to do this. Also, not that my writing is great anyways, it just sounds like I am talking naturally.
They have a kosher McDonalds here because their Jewish population is rather large. On the Av. 9 de Julio there is the Teatro Colon, which is the Colon Theater. It very famous and apparently, one of the largest opera houses in the world. If I heard correctly, it can hold up to 50,000 people?
Going further up the Avenue, the famous Obelisk of BA. Often times there are many policemen surrounding the area because it is the perfect place for demonstrations and has been used for such purposes in the past.
A little past that, towards the left is a plaza where the Pink House is located. The Pink House, I believe is the President's office and straight across from it is a white building where Argentina's first government was established in the past, I have not researched any of this so I have no clue, do not depend on me for facts.
Lastly, there was a neighborhood we stopped by called La Boca. Many tourists came here and walked through the streets. It is super colorful and full of art, other wares or tango dancers trying to convince you to take a picture with them. When you go further down one street it leads you to the river and the sidewalks next to it are painted all different colors, which I thought was rather cute. We passed by El Vigo Almacen, which was the 1st place of Tango back in the 70's.
The tour ended and we were dropped off by another area close to the same river. We had lunch at a place called Puerto Cristal, I think...they had great service and good combo-sort of meal, where you choose one entradas, one principales, and one ostres. That deal came with a choice of either Champagne or Wine, since today was the Eve of Christmas. After we tried to walk to the Galleria in Bueno Aires, but we were still jet lagged and the food had made us even more drowsy, so we decided to go back to the hotel to nap. While we were in the Taxi I was falling asleep HARD, my mouth would be a bit open, luckily I wouldn't snore though, I don't do that. We arrived and stayed in for the rest of the night and had leftovers for dinner. OKAY! Now it is time to sleep because tomorrow we are catching a plane to some place near Patagonia and this is where the real trekking shall begin, well the day after we land because by the time we get there it'll already be in the afternoon. Now Merry Xmas Eve, I hope you got wonderful presents and if you didn't, then recognize the presents around you, that you don't often acknowledge in an everyday setting. Goodnight familia ;)

So now from where we left off, we left the airport around 11-ish, a sweet old man was our driver. We arrived at the hotel at 11.40-ish and were able to quickly get our room. It is rather cozy, there is a room with two separate twin-sized beds, which my parents took and I took the oddly placed bed in the between the room that is the kitchen/dining table room. It's bigger, but my parents would have NOT been able to fit, therefore I gave them the room with the view, bless my soul. The weather here is actually super hot and a bit humid, which I did not expect because I was preparing for cold cold. I know that's how the Southern Hemisphere works? Where like it's summer in months that are usually considered winter where I live. I am loving it thought because I am more of a tropical person, but I do not mind experiencing cold. It was rather empty because all the shops are closed and it is almost Christmas. Other than that it was really nice to get some Vitamin D again.
Remember how I explained in the last log that I do not sleep, I had not properly slept since leaving LA, so I was pretty dead. You know how in high school you would pull crazy all-nighters and how tired you were during classes the next day, yeah it was similar to that type of tired. We decided to get lunch at this one place (should've gotten the name, I'll do that next time) and I could not keep my eyes open for crap. I would close my eyes to blink, but then open them again with what felt like 10 minutes later. Anyways, my mom and I ordered the Suprema Pollo. My dad ordered some sort of steak. The servers also gave us the chimi churi sauce, good s*** let me tell you. I plastered it on the whole chicken. When we were done we went back to the hotel, so we could all take a nap. Around 6 we woke up to get ready for dinner. The restaurant was picking us up at 8pm to go eat and watch the Tango. It was a rather nice restaurant, kind of old fashioned. The servers were nice too, muy bueno! The menu had a good amount of options, we had to choose one appetizer, one main meal, and one dessert. I chose Mozzarella Sticks first, then Risotto with vegetables, and the best closing being Tiramisu. My mother paid about $130 per person and all the food/drinks were free. I would like to mention that the drinking age in Argentina is 18...anyways I am not the wine type, but i tried some. Immediately after having just a small sip, it got super hot, there was literally no aircon, plus the wine?! I was not dressed for hot weather folks, let me tell you. After we finished the food, the dancers came out around 10pm. We asked for a second Tiramisu, which somehow was bigger (I think the server liked us). The performance was not just dancers, it was also singers and instrumentals, which was a nice way to break everything up. They would do a sort of evolution of Tango through time, till today. So it started with like innocent, cute dancing, then became more of storytelling, then began to focus more on like portraying emotions and such? Although, this is just how I interpreted it as, I am not an expert at dancing so don't come at me. You could tell everyone was waiting for the more modern, sexy type of Tango because everyone brought their phones out to record the marvelous moment when the lady was twirled around the man's body or they spun around as one, it was rather beautiful. In all honesty though, all of them were very good dancers, just that they did not synchronize very well or didn't flow with their partner's movements, but otherwise bravo. All the dresses were beautiful works of art as well. It ended around 11.30pm and we were driven back to our hotel. Right now it is 2am, but I do not feel sleepy as I have jet lag, a wonderful thing about flying hmmm. We have to wake up in 5 hours to eat breakfast and get ready for our tour at 9 so this is where I leave you folks, oyasuminasai! Omg actually, I just realized it is already the 24th technically, so Merry Christmas, if you celebrate that, if you don't then have a grand day and just be nice to everyone, it should be a good day ;)

welcome, welcome folks! At the moment it is 12.25pm in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The flight to Dallas was terrible. First, let me give you some background, I don't sleep on flights or at least I try not to. The reason for this is because whenever I wake up I am either sore, feeling claustrophobic, and just generally in a bad mood, therefore to avoid such situations, I. stay. aH-waKKe. Oh another reason is because a lot of the time the movies provided are ones I have not yet seen, because my money (parent's money really) has been spent on this ticket I take advantage of as many benefits as I can. On the way to Dallas, I decided to watch The Incredibles 2, but I didn't have headphones with the plug-in jack thing, so I asked the attendants if they possibly provided any free ones, which bless their hearts, they did. Although because they are free headphones, as you know, the quality is not grand at all, but I am still grateful for it. I could not hear what the characters were saying half the time, so my dumb bum decided to put on subtitles. I got nauseous within 5 minutes. The rest of the ride was complete terror, I felt like pounding my head on the seat in front of me. I wanted to move around and just GET MORE ROOM, but as a window seat you have to stay collected, otherwise everyone else will get even more stressed. Also, someone brought their dog on-board and I know that's a thing, but I would feel so bad because they would be stuck in a space TINIER than my own for about the equal amount of time. Well, we arrived sometime during sunset and got on our flight to Buenos Aires at the Dallas Airport. This one went a lot smoother because this time I knew what NOT to do. This time I finished The Incredibles 2, Hotel Transylvania 3, The Darkest Minds, and re-watched Moulin Rouge and Mamma Mia. It was a grand 9 hours. Now, if you ask me about the airplane food, It's really love hate relationship because I love having space when I eat food and spreading my legs etc. etc. Just being conscious of everyone eating around you, eating the same thing, kinda grosses me out. I only ever eat the main dish, no offense to the side dishes, I never touch you. I am all about always finishing your food, but airplane food is just a big no. I always try to drink Ginger Ale because that usually gets you to burp and stay sane. So that's always nice, I guess. Finally, we landed in BA at around 9.40am then got in line for the Migration, I think is what it's called, when the guards ask you the question of how many days are you staying, where are you staying, what's your reason of coming here, such and such. Also, after a flight I desperately need a shower,I feel as though I have not showered for a whole month, when really you only been there for a minute. Anyways, this is the end of log 2, log 3 will be coming in a second because that will be what we did as soon as we got here. Excuse any grammar errors...

hola! so we鈥檝e been at the airport since 6 or 6.30?? Currently, it is 10.32am. We should be boarding soon and our stop over is Dallas, Texas.
As we all understand the food at airports is expensive, I had a delcious breakfast burrito and it cost $13?? There was nothing bad about it at all, just that I鈥檝e had a bigger breakfast burrito with more ingredients, at a cheaper price.
Oh,, I should probably add, our ACTUAL destination is Buenos Aires. We鈥檒l be staying there for a night or two. Then moving onto Patagonia. I don鈥檛 have many expectations going into this trip, as I usually have with others, so I think I鈥檒l be in for a suprise and come out loving Argentina. I watched a documentary on ice or our oceans, I remember Argentina was mentioned as a place that still has a lot of snow today? Besides that I also did not read the itinerary because I do not plan these trips and I鈥檓 just here for the ride. Anyways signing off, losing battery. Have a great day and I鈥檒l talk to you next time I log on ;)
