I’m a New York-based reporter covering economic and social trends for Bloomberg News’ Wealth Team. My weekend essays, feature stories and profiles frequently appear in outlets including Bloomberg Businessweek and Markets magazines, as well as the Big Take and Everybody's Business podcasts. During the 2023-2024 academic year, I was selected as a Knight-Wallace Journalism Fellow at the University of Michigan. Recent awards include an Excellence in Business Coverage Award from the NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists, as well as a Salute to Excellence Award from the National Association of Black Journalists. I’m currently writing a book on nightlife and community. Other recent journalism topics include inequality, tax policy, industrial policy, the changing role of homeownership in American life, the history of food prices, the racial wealth gap and how to tell if we’re going into a recession.
