Here We Go Again | An MJF Fanfic Part 5
Status: *Not requested*
Description: Bella was a teen wrestler working in the Indy circuit until an injury cost her her short career. She and MJF were friends turned lovers, turned strangers and friends again. What happens when she joins AEW to lead a faction with her ex? Will their history jeopardize their rekindled friendship?
A/N: This is an alternate universe (no covid :p) where MJF didn’t earn a spot in the inner circle. Hope you all enjoy my original story!
Triggers: mention of addiction
A week went by and Max hasn’t answered my calls. I wanted to discuss what we were going to do for the next show. I spent the whole week thinking about him and our relationship. Did I really lose him as a friend again? I wanted things to be different. I wanted it to be easier. We’re supposed to be best friends that could tell each other everything. He knows all the good and bad about me. He knows about my mental setbacks and how broken I really am. It makes me cry every time I think about him not being in my life in some way. It killed me to think that this could be the end. Why should he be my friend, I broke his heart. He could never trust me. I don’t want to hurt him, but it seems like I do without even realizing.
For the next week I moped around my room. Tony texted me for the script the last few days, but I haven’t responded until today, Sunday. He called me cause I gave a vague answer. “Bella, what’s going on?” “I’m just not myself.” “I need a script, it’s late. Work with Max and get it to me.” Tony paused for a few seconds. “He’s being funny too.” “He’s not going to um...answer me.” I scratched the back of my neck. “Oh. Ohh. You two need to get here asap. We’re settling this. You guys have to work together.” “But...” “No buts, I’m sending you the flight info in a half hour.” He hung up before I could even answer. I finally got out of bed once the shock wore off and packed. Like he promised I received the flight for 6pm. I looked at the clock and saw that it’s 2pm. I rushed to get dressed and throw everything in my bags.
I decided to go to the arena early. I needed to get into the zone especially since I only wrote a script yesterday. I walked though the hallways and stopped when I saw a shadow in the distance. The person went from a standing position to a seated one on the ground. I approached the person slowly. I knew security was tight around here, but I wanted to be safe. I stayed far enough away to get a glimpse of who it could be. It was definitely a man. I got closer until I could see who it was. “Orange juice?” I called out. He looked up and flashed me a smile. I sat next to him against the wall. “Hey Bella. Is everything okay? You were texting real weird.” I took a deep breath. “I’m just distracted. My mind is all over the place, I can barely form a sentence.” I brought my knees closer to my body. James looked at me with a concerned look in his eyes. He reached his arm out to me, but quickly pulled away. He probably didn’t know what to do.  “Is there anything I can do to help?” “I don’t think there is.” I shook my head. He reached his arm out again and slung it over my shoulders. I leaned my head on him. He reached his other arm out and held me in an embrace. His hand ran up and down my arm comfortingly. We sat in silence for a few minutes. I closed my eyes tightly or tears would have spilled. I didn’t want to cry in front of him. I don’t think he would judge, but I couldn’t help but guard myself. I had to collect my thoughts and decide whether I should tell him. It did have to do with James in a way. I only went on one date with him, but I think I owe it to him to say what’s on my mind. I don’t want things to go forward without laying things out on the table. I picked my head up and turned to look at him. He dropped his arm in front of me, back to his own side. His other arm stayed around my shoulders. “I thought I could go through this without some sort of feeling for Max, but I figured out that...I can’t.” James didn’t say anything for close to a minute. “You love him?” “I think I might.” “So go after him.” I looked back up at James quickly after I put my head down. I wasn’t expecting him to say that. I didn’t know what he would say, but that caught me off guard anyway. “Wait, what?” James chuckled, “Tell him. Maybe he’ll feel the same.” “I don’t think he wants to talk to me.” “He’ll just have to suck it up. If this is weighing down on you then you should let it out. Forget about him for a minute, don’t do it for him, do it for you. Take it a step at a time and if you need me, I’ll be right here to back you up.” He pulled me closer and pressed a soft kiss to my head. I needed to hear those words. My mind is just so full of all these thoughts that it’s actually giving me a headache. I needed peace of mind. “Thanks orange, I appreciate you.” “Anytime Bell.” We pulled away from each other and I stood up. He stood up with me to give me a hug before I go find Max. “Good luck.” I pulled away, “thank you.” He went back to sitting on the floor and put on his sunglasses which made me laugh. That’s the two sides of Orange Cassidy.
I walked around and asked whoever I could see where Max is. No one had seen him yet so I went to catering. Everyone usually gathered there or the locker rooms at this time. I sat down at a table with some of the girls. I sat in between Britt and Olivia aka Penelope Ford. We all talked about random things that happened when we weren’t working. I wish I had a story to tell, but I just listened in on the conversations. About 20 minutes in Dustin came up to the table and tapped me on the shoulder. “Heard you were looking for Max. He’s down there now.” He pointed down the hallway to the right. I thanked him and made my way down there. I could hear him talking to someone else around the corner. I realized he was talking to Chris Jericho. My name was mentioned so I listened in. “You were able to come up with something?” Chris asked him.  “Eventually,” he sighed. “I did well with not showing how bothered I am about what happened last week. She just seemed so fine, you know?” “You still have feelings for her?” He paused for a few seconds, “I do. I didn’t think I would, but I do.” “Even though she hurt you?” Chris asked. When I didn’t hear anything, I peaked my head to see Max nodding. “How many times is this now? Twice? You said that this was like your breakup.” I covered my mouth with my hands. I couldn’t believe Max actually told him that. He doesn’t open up to people like that so it must be true. That was the last thing I wanted. Hurting him sucked. “I know Chris, I know, but I don’t want things to be weird between us. I have to keep this to myself and not let her on to anything.” “That doesn’t sound smart Max. Tell her straight up how you’re feeling. Things will be resolved much quicker if you’re honest. If you really love her, you owe it to her and to you.” He thanked Chris and I ran off down the hall in the opposite direction. I bumped into Britt on my way. “Hey, I was just going to find you. Why are you running?” She held my arms to steady me.  “I heard something I shouldn’t have.” “Is someone having an affair?” She covered her mouth with her hands.  “You always jump to conclusions, chill. Max and Chris were talking and it was about me.”  “That’s juicier.” “Ya think?!” “What did they say?” I told her everything they said. I basically said it verbatim. The conversation was so fresh in my mind it was like I was the one in it. I also told her about my conversation with James. She pretty much agreed with everything. I had to brace myself for what Max was going to say to me. I didn’t have much time because Max walked up to us. “I’ll leave you two alone,” Britt touched my arm and walked away. I looked up and Max and waited for him to speak. He let out a deep breath, “we need to talk.” “We do,” I nodded.  He didn’t say anything for a good minute. I could see the wheels turning in his head, thinking of the right words. “Come with me.” He walked to the utility closet we talked in just last week. He closed the door behind us and turned on the light switch. “Bella...” He still couldn’t form the words I knew he wanted to say.  “I heard you talking to Chris” I blurted out. He blinked his eyes twice. “You did?” “I’m sorry Max. I-I just I feel like a monster.” He sighed, “you’re not a monster. Bella ever since we slept together I’ve been thinking about us and where we were back then. You did hurt me, you broke me actually. When we started talking again I thought we could pick up, but obviously we never did.” There was a period of three months where Max and I didn’t speak. I couldn’t speak to anyone especially him. After a while I answered his call. I was still in a bad place. It got to the point where I took sleeping pills so that I would be able to calm my anxiety. I didn’t want to be awake unless I absolutely had to. I was able to hold a part time job though in the midst of it. I was taking the sleeping pills for about a year until I worked through things in therapy. I was lucky that I was able to stop and never look back. Max knew that and he helped me as well. “I always knew that I loved you, but a few weeks ago I fell for you all over again. It’s okay if you don’t feel the same, I just really needed to say that.” I tried to process everything he said. He’s in love with me. Am I in love with him? “When we slept together my mind went back to our relationship like you. I guess I had nothing to worry about then since we feel the same.” We got caught up in trying to be just friends and not making things awkward that we forgot to just be honest with each other. There was never an issue when it came to honesty. We just tried to be big and bad instead of just trusting each other with our true feelings. “I still love you Max.” A smile formed on Max’s face. I could see the weight lift off his shoulders and I could feel the tension I felt leaving my body. “So where do we go from here?” “I guess we’ll have to pretend to hate each other out there,” I laughed. He laughed and pulled me close to his body. “I guess so. It might be hard since I love you and all that.” He flashed his signature crooked smirk.  “I love hearing you say that.” I grabbed onto his shirt and pulled him even closer so there wasn’t any space between us. “You’re going to hear it a lot, but first, I want to hear it from you.” “I love you too Max.” He cupped my cheek and planted a soft kiss to my lips. My whole body shivered and my knees went weak. The feeling of his lips drove me crazy. Max pulled away and smiled, “that was great.” I laughed, “just how I remembered it.”

“Is it possible for me to kiss you?” James’ voice was shaking. We parked up in front of Britt’s after our date. We had a great time at a bar in downtown Jacksonville. I liked talking to him. He’s very down to earth and mature. I’ve dated guys his age before and they weren’t mature when they were supposed to be. We got along great and the three hours we spent together felt like no time at all. We listened to music and talked about life and what we wanted out of it. The talks were never shallow which I appreciated. I looked at him with a smile. “It’s possible.” He smiled back and leaned in. I leaned over the consol. He placed his hand on my cheek and pulled me in softly. In one swift motion his lips connected with mine. It was slow and sweet. He was a good kisser but I couldn’t help but compare him to Max. They were both soft and tender. It was different though, there was love behind my kisses with Max, even last week. I had to figure what I wanted from him. Am I able to move on? Maybe it’s not with James, but maybe it’s not with anyone.  We pulled away, smiling. “Sweet,” he said.  I giggled, “you’re good.” He laughed, “thank you, so are you.” We talked a little bit more before saying goodnight. He waited for Britt to open the door for me before pulling off. Britt hugged me when I walked in. “What the...?” “How was it?” She grinned.  “It was fun.” “And did he kiss you?” She grinned.  “Were you watching?” Britt closed her lips together, looking around the room. “Nooo?” I shook my head, laughing. “He did.” “Was it good?” “He was good.” I put on my best smile. Britt of course didn’t buy into my giddiness. “What happened? Did he say something douchy? I’ll kill him. You think you know a guy,” she shook her head.  “No, Britt. He’s great. It’s just...Max slipped into my mind.” I sat on the couch in defeat. “He wasn’t on my mind before that kiss.” Britt sat next to me. “Oh Bell, what are you going to do about Max?” “I don’t know. All I know is this was a bad idea.” “No, stop it’s not. You’re just confused.” “How can I get over it?” I dropped my head to my hands. Britt rubbed my back to comfort me. “I don’t know babes, I don’t know.” I heard footsteps behind us. I sat up and looked back at Austin. “What’s going on?” He placed his hands on his hips. “She’s having a moment,” Britt said with a sigh. Austin nodded his head. “Are you okay kiddo?” “Max,” was all I could say.  “My name isn’t Max, but...” “It’s about Max you dip,” Britt rolled her eyes. “I know that babe, I’m trying to make her smile.” “Well you failed,” Britt said, causing me to chuckle. She looked at me, “I won.” “Britt won,” I said softly. Austin shook his head, “seriously. What happened?” Austin walked in front of us.  “How do I get over this comparing guys to Max?” “Get under him,” he shrugged.  “Tried that. Made things worse.” Austin looked at me then at Britt with wide eyes. “I um shouldn’t have said that. I didn’t want to know.” “She’s not a child anymore babe.” “But she’s like my sister.” He turned his attention back to me. “You need guy advice, don’t you?” “Duh, Jenkins.” I said and Britt laughed. “Seriously, what should I do?” I sat, laying my head on the couch backing. “Talk to him about it. you two will be working close together for a while. The tension might be great for tv, but you need peace of mind.” “I had a feeling you’d say to talk to him,” I sighed.  He chuckled, “you have to be an adult about it.” He’s completely right. As much as I hated it, Austin is usually right when I get advice from him. Austin left for bed while Britt and I talked about my night. I needed to get Max off my mind, at least for the night. I was going to see him in the morning. I’ll have to rip the band-aid off and that’s just what I was going to do.
The next day Britt drove me to the airport. I made my way through TSA and met up with Max. He was sitting at a coffee shop, phone in hand. An announcement came over the speakers saying flights to New York will be delayed. I approached him and sat in the chair across from him. He looked  up at his phone and smiled at me. “Hey, you.” “Hey, how’s it going?” “Eh, pissed that our flight will be another hour.” He looked at the board next to us with all the flights and times they will leave and arrive somewhere. “Well that sucks.” We made small talk. I couldn’t bring myself to talk to him just yet. We talked about next week. I didn’t want to bring down the conversation by telling him what’s on my mind. It started to irritate me to the point where I just had to tell him. “Max? Can I... I need to tell you something.” “Yeah what’s up? You look nervous.” He placed his hand on mine and gave it a quick squeeze. My palms were sweating and my mouth went dry. I needed that to be the other way around. I just came out and spewed word vomit at him. “James asked me out so we went out and he kissed me. When he did kiss me I thought about you and now I’m a mess because I’m thinking about you.” I took a deep breath. Max had a blank expression on his face. We sat in an awkward silence for a couple of minutes. “So you went out with James?” I nodded. “And you kissed him?” I nodded again. “And you thought of me?” “Max I just told you.” “Do you still love me? And don’t say you’ll always love me, you know what I mean.”  “I don’t know Max and that’s the problem.” “How did you feel about me when we fucked?” His tone got more aggressive. I didn’t answer. He pulled his chair closer to mine. “How did you feel about me when we fucked?” He whispered in the same tone. His face was only inches from mine. “Look at me.”  “It felt amazing. I missed you and being in your arms,” I said softly. Our eyes connected. He reached out and cupped my cheek with his hand. “Then be mine again,” he ran his thumb across my cheek bone.  “Max I-I don’t know.” He dropped his hand and stood up. “Well when you know, come talk to me.” He took his luggage and walked away. I watched as we walked towards the gate. My head started pounding and my heart sunk. We can’t even be friends. I didn’t want to ruin things, but here we are. He doesn’t even want to be my friend and that’s what hurts the most. I got a text from James asking how I was. I lied to avoid conversation. He told me to have a safe flight and we left it at that.  Max and I sat in different rows. He didn’t even look at me I felt like a huge pile of crap. My throat tightened, I couldn’t help but let tears flow. All of a sudden a memory came back from when we were 16.
                                              .     .     .    .     .     .
I took the train from school to the training facility. It was only a half hour ride. Davey picked me up from the station and had another kid in the passenger’s seat. He looked about my age, dark hair and dark deep set eyes. He had an air of confidence about him, almost to the point of cockiness. He looked kind of small so maybe he was trying put on a façade. He would look at me every once in a while through the rearview mirror. It wasn’t anything creepy, more of trying to figure me out. Even though I had my school uniform on I still looked like I was fixing to fight someone. I always put on my own hard exterior even though deep down I’m a sweet person. I kept my head down to keep from an awkward stare. He talked to Davey about how excited he was to start training. I found out that Max was being trained by the main trainer at the school. Davey just started as a trainer last year when I began here. When I was 13 I went to a wrestling school just for fun. It was something I ended up really enjoying. I wasn’t serious about it though until I realized I could actually be successful. At 13 I did both dance and wrestling, but I chose the latter not only because it was more enjoyable, but it became my dream turned reality. Focusing on wrestling was the best decision I made.  Once we got to the school I went to the restroom and got dressed in my sweatpants. I tied my hair up and made my way to the main room. All the trainers would get together and set up matches for all the students. There were three people assigned to a trainer with five trainers in total. The females would go against each other and the males will. Sometimes we’ll have intergender matches if we begged for it. All the trainers introduced a new member to their team. The boy from the car’s name was Maxwell Friedman. He clearly looked like the youngest, but he carried himself as if he was older than he actually is. I on the other hand always seemed younger in the way I presented myself. I don’t have the best posture and radiated timid young girl vibes. He scanned everyone and rested his gaze on me. I looked away quickly. Boys never really looked in my direction before, at least I didn’t notice them looking at me. Going to an all girls Catholic school didn’t help the cause. We all gathered around the ring and had matches one by one. I was the fourth match and went up against a girl named Fiona. She was a few inches taller than me and had slightly bigger arms. I could lift half my body weight, but I didn’t do that enough to see major results. I didn’t want big arms, I just wanted to be strong. Davey coached me while her trainer coached her. There was no winners or losers in these matches. It was more to build up our endurance and skill. We all got 10 minutes for each match. After my match it was time for a dinner break. We all sat around to eat and talk. I ended up sitting next to Max. We started to talk since everyone else was scarce. He started talking first. “So, how old are you?” “16,” I nodded. The corners of his lips turned into a smile. “So am I. What month were you born?” “September, you?” “I’m older. March,” he said proudly. I let out a chuckle. He continued talking, “you’re a good wrestler.” I smiled. It was the highest compliment for me. “Thank you. I’m looking forward to seeing your skill.” “I have plenty,” he smirked. I rolled my eyes and laughed. “You’ll see.” And that I did. He wrestled the next time we had class. On Tuesday’s and on Friday’s is a training class with our individual trainers. One Saturday a month the whole school would put on a show for friends and family. When the next Tuesday rolled around I became brave and started a conversation with Max. We decided to ask our trainers if we could have a match together. They agreed and let us do it. We were coached through and found out that we had a lot of chemistry in the ring. Every move I made was natural and didn’t have much thought behind it.

_____________________________________________
It was now a few days after Max and I slept together. I’ve been in a great mood ever since, but in the back of my mind I couldn’t help but feel that it shouldn’t have happened. I couldn’t get him off my mind. The way his hands felt on me and the way he kissed me felt like it used to. That was passion, was this? Maybe he still had feelings for me. The sensation of him felt so real, so familiar. I haven’t spoken to him since then. He called this morning to confirm our flight to Jacksonville tomorrow. Just the sound of his voice reminded me of that night. I wondered how he felt about it. There is no way I would ask him even though my curiosity was killing me. We already said how it won’t be awkward if we had sex years post breakup. I mean, I thought that it wouldn’t be hard, but I may have been wrong.
The next morning rolled around and Max picked me up from my house. He had a big smile on his face when I got in. “Hey you,” I raised my brow at his excitement of seeing me. “I brought you a breakfast sandwich.” He pulled a wrapped sandwich out of a McDonald’s bag. I took it from his hands. “Do you have a fever or something?” He chuckled. “No, I’m just being a good friend.” “Friend, yes. Well thank you Max.” “You’re welcome.” He pulled off onto the road and made our way to the airport. The whole ride was silent. I liked to be quiet on the road, listen to music and stare out the window.
During the week I found the three pictures I wanted to place in the ring for the promo. I was able to send them over to Tony for him to blow up into life sized photos. I found black sheets to put over the pictures. I wanted it to be a surprise for Max to get a real reaction. Tony loved my method of keeping things from Max. I bet he had some tricks up his sleeve as well. The show started and we stood in the ring with the photos. Wardlow stood behind Max by the ropes. I stood more toward the middle of the ring. The camera turned to us indication g that we’re filming. “You look scared Maxwell.” Most of this promo isn’t written down. Scared my ass. Why did you bring me out here? And what the hell are these?” He pointed to the three sheets.  “I’m glad you asked. Remember when we were 16 and met at the training facility?” “So what?” He shrugged and looked at Wardlow causing him to scoff.  I revealed the picture under the first sheet. It was us from November 2012. He was holding me around my shoulders. We were smiling, him smiling bigger. We wore sweatpants and tees with the training facilities name on it. I had recently gotten the ends of my hair dyed purple as a 16th birthday present. My trained Davey took the picture. I remembered that he said something funny to get us to smile after a long training day.  Max shook his head. “Where did you find that?” The audience laughed. “We were just mere children with a dream, looking to fit in. Then two years later you gave into your desires and asked me out.” Max rolled his eyes. I took the second sheet off and revealed a photo of us at 18 during holiday time. We were in the city near the Christmas tree. Max took me to go skating at Rockefeller Center. We were in an embrace, looking at each other with love in our eyes. “When we were 18 our relationship blossomed. The way we work together is impeccable. Friends to lovers,” I smirked. “We can do anything.” Max looked me up and down with a sly smile. “Not only that, we were also...” I took the last sheet off. “...a tag team.” It’s a photo of us in the ring. He had me on his shoulders in victory. “Winning 10 out of 10 matches in two months.” Max nodded with pride. He looked at the audience and shrugged. “Wait, but why did you need the pictures? I know we’re a good team, we’re the best.” “Just like you I have a flare for the dramatics,” I shrugged. “What I’m getting at here is that we have to recruit people who work well with us. People who work like they’ve known us for ten years. We will be recruiting 3 men, 3 very talented men. First match will be a fatal 4 way. Winner will be our new member.” “Do you think this is wise?” I rolled my eyes. “This is our tamest match. We need the best of the best.” “Tamest?” “You will see,” I winked. “The first match starts now.” The stage hands took everything away. We got two chairs at the top of the ramp for Max and I. Wardlow stood behind Max’s chair, arms folded. Pac, Scorpio Sky, Miro, and Joey Janela. Pac ended up winning in 15 minutes. Max and I stood as Pac walked up the ramp towards us. I shook his hand, “Welcome.” Max looked on with an unimpressed look.  Later on that night we had another recruiting match to do. I walked out to announce the stipulation. This was my first time getting out there alone without Max. I took a deep breath and walked out. I knew he was watching me from backstage so that calmed my nerves. I picked up a mic and went out there. “Pac has proved himself worthy of my... I mean Max and I’s faction. Now it’s time for our recruiting match. Max handpicked two men for this match. Anything goes. Tables, trash cans, whatever they can find. Justin Roberts, do your thing.” He looked at me confused, “Announce them,” I waved my hand at him dismissively. Justin stood from his chair and announced Shawn Spears and Matt Sydal. The match was pretty intense, but Shawn won with a chair shot to the head. He walked up the ramp and I met him half way. “Congratulations. that wads a great mat-.” He took the mic from me. “Listen. I don’t like MJF, I don’t like anything he stands for. But I’ll join your little group because I can’t stand the same people he can’t.” He walked past me to the back. I waited a few seconds before going back myself. Shawn held his hand out for me to shake it. “That was intense. I’m looking forward to this.” I smiled at him and nodded my head in agreement. “I don’t know how she’s so intense.” I heard Britt behind me. She put her hand on my shoulder. “She’s the least intense person I know.” “It’s method acting.” Shawn said. Britt and I looked at each other and chuckled. We talked for a while longer before deciding to go home. I said goodnight to Max and made my way with Britt to her house. We took showers and put on our pajamas immediately. Austin wasn’t home yet so Britt and I laid in the bed talking. I decided to tell her about Max because it’s been bothering me. “What?!” She shouted. I put my hand on her mouth and let out a chuckle. “Hush B, yes I slept with Max.” “How was it?” She asked me, her brow raised. “Awkward?” “No, it was great. We had a good time and hung out on Monday like it was nothing. Even the plane ride was normal.” “Well, that’s great. What’s the issue? Are you okay with it being a one time deal?” I thought about it briefly. Would I be? “I think so.” “So you’re unsure?” Britt chuckled.  I smiled, “no I’m sure. I’ll be okay.” “Doesn’t seem too convincing,” she said softly. “Would you get back with him?” I shook my head. “I think that bridge is burnt. I hurt him pretty bad. I can’t forget the look on his face when we broke up. It was bad. I think we’re better off not opening up old wounds, you know?” Britt nodded. “Some things just aren’t meant to be.” We left the conversation at that. I had a lump in my throat thinking about it. He would never trust me in a relationship again. If I did want to get back with him, it wouldn’t be fair to him.
I stayed another day with Britt and Austin before travelling back with Max. We talked like normal on the car ride. “I’m having a great time with you.” He said to me while we took the rental car back. “Me too Max,” I leaned my head on his shoulder. “It’s nice to be friends again,” he leaned his head on top of mine. “I agree.” “I enjoyed when we were a couple...” He picked his head up and continued. “But being friends is great too.” I gave him a smile and nodded. I missed the old days when we were best friends. We were two kids with a big dream and we connected on that level. There were many students our age in our training facility, but somehow we had the best connection. We had pretty different backgrounds and experiences. He was a confident rich kid from Long Island. I came from a middle class family in Brooklyn with low self-esteem. Wrestling was the only time I felt confident and truly happy. Max was the one that had my back and believed in me. He helped me with my stage fright and talking in front of a crowd. I didn’t do promos often, but when I did I felt confident because of him. He’s always had a place in my heart. I know the real Max, the one nobody sees. I’ve seen him in all different emotions, all times in his life. We basically grew up together. He knows everything about me and still chose to be with me.  He put his arm around me as we walked to the gate. “Want to come to my house?” He asked.  “I don’t know.” I didn’t know if it was a good idea or not. If we slept together again, it might be difficult. I’m still thinking about the last time. “Well when we land you could make a decision. I know you may be too tired.”  “Sounds good.” We got on our flight and sat in the back next to each other. We both put our headphones in and relaxed. I decided not to go back to his house. I needed some time away from him to figure things out. I hoped to figure things out, but the weekend came and went with no progress. It was time to go back to Jacksonville before I knew it. Max had to go a day earlier so this was my first time travelling alone. Once I got to Florida, Britt picked me up from the airport. She took me for lunch before we went back to her house. The rest of the day was quiet. Austin was home so the three of us watched movies and talked. I’ve known Austin since I was 17. He was always like an older brother to me. When he and Britt got together I was so happy for them. They both have great hearts.  The next day Britt and I made our way to the arena for the show. I got to the girls locker room and started talking to Anna Jay. I wish I could wrestle her, she’s really talented. It would have been perfect because she’s part of a faction too. She let me borrow a pair of shoes since one of the heels was broken on mine. On my way out of the locker room I met up with Orange Cassidy. His real name is James, but I’ve always called him orange juice. It was just something I casually called him at a show back in 2015. I worked around him a lot, but not directly with him. I was able to get to know him through another friend of mine in the business, Priscilla Kelly. They had a match with each other last year and Priscilla invited me to the show.  “Hey Bella,” he said with a smile. I liked seeing his smile. Not many people see him smile because of his character. “Hey orange juice, what’s up?” I gave him a quick hug. “Nothing much, just wanted to say that I’ve been enjoying your promos. You’re really good on the mic.” “Thank you.” “Did you do many promos before?” He placed his hands in his pockets, I guess by sheer impulse. “I wasn’t much of a talker, but Max really helped me out. It was hard to get into it in the first place, so it’s been even harder now.” I laughed. He chuckled, “I think you’d be just as good.” “Well thank you for that.” “You’re welcome.” He paused a few seconds before speaking again. “Speaking of Max, what’s your situation?” That caught me by surprise. “We’re friends now. We started as friends so it’s going to be that way,” I answered confidently. Maybe that’s how I really felt deep down. I took a deep breath and relaxed. “That’s good that you two are cool. And it brought you here so that’s good by me.” I giggled like a teenager. I felt my face get warm. “Is my presence that amazing?” “Things got interesting.” He smiled.  “How’s so?”  “Your talent, it’s pretty rare. When you talk, people listen. You’re 24, right?” “I am.” “And still young which is even more impressive.” I smiled, my face warm again. We stood in silence for a few moments until I heard a loud voice. “Bella!” I turned to see Max calling for me. “We’re on in 5,” he said while chewing gum. He looked a little irritated. “I guess that’s my cue,” I told James. He chuckled and said that he’ll talk to me after. I walked away and saw Max staring in my direction. I rolled my eyes at him. “What?” He shrugged.  “Why were you staring so hard?” Max shook his head and let out a laugh. “Get over yourself.” “I just asked a question Friedman, don’t be a dick.” “I’m not being a dick,” he chuckled. People started to look at us once we raised our voices a little. “Whatever, I don’t want to argue before we go on.” “I’m not arguing.” He flashed me a shit-eating grin. I just ignored him and waited for the cue to go on. Max, Wardlow and I walked up to the ramp. Max and I both had a mic in our hands. I started talking. “As you all know, we have added tow more members last week. Pac and Shawn Spears rose to the challenges and impressed us,” I pointed between Max and I. He looked down at me, annoyed.  “Don’t speak for me.” He held up his hand in my face. I slapped his hand away. “You weren’t impressed?” “Mildly. Now cut the formalities and introduce the last challenge. You’re wasting my time,” he looked into my eyes, his head bent. I snarled at him. i was pissed with him in real life so this was easy. “Fine,” I said through gritted teeth. “But it’s not a challenge. I hand picked our last member.”  Max’s eyes went wide. “Oh really? Who?” I reached my hand out like I was a model on Deal or No Deal. Music hit and my old trainer Davey walked out. This was another one of my real surprises for Max. Davey signed with the company for a year to be in the faction. He still wrestles on the Indy’s. He moved to Florida when he got married in 2017. He was 23 when he trained me and now he’s 32 with a 3 year old son. Max’s eyes widened. “That’s right, my trainer Davey Marx. Look at us, one big happy family again. Right Maxwell?” I rested my arm on Davey’s arm, I’m too short to reach his shoulder. I smirked at Max. “That’s not fair. You know what he did. he screwed me out of that title.” Max was only inches from me. “It’s not his fault you sucked,” I said pointedly. Max lunged at me, but Wardlow held him back. I tried to run at him, but Davey grabbed my waist. “You’re trying to spite me.” Max shouted out. At this point we didn’t have the mics in our hands.  “I’m doing what’s best for the team,” I shouted.  *“Quite the dramatic past.” I could hear JR say from the announce table.  “That girl is ruthless. I love it. That’s the New York spirit” Taz said.  “I think she’s the only person that could put MJF in his place.”* We all went backstage and caught up with each other. We talked about how surprised Max was and him and Davey caught up. I was hyping Davey up to everybody in the back. Many people already knew him. I admired him ever since he trained me. All the other trainers at the school thought I was too fragile to make it in the business. After talking for a while I was ready to get something to eat. I was going to walk to catering, but Max stopped me. “Good job out there.” I half smiled, “thank you.” “You’re still pissed.” He chuckled.  “You told me to get over myself when I asked you a simple question. So yeah Max, I’m mad.” He rolled his eyes, “come with me.” He grabbed my hand and pulled me into a utility closet. How cliched. “What the fuck?” “I’m sorry.” “Wait, you’re sorry? That’s rich.” “Oh shut up. I may have had a small setback and stared at you and James. I wanted to see what he was saying.” “Why?” I shook my head.  He shrugged, “just curious.” “Were you jealous?” “No, Bella. I just, I don’t know.” “We can’t do this.” He nodded, “you’re right. We have to forget about last week and start over. Deal?” He held out his hand. I shook it, “deal.” It was a little weird, but it had to be done. We can’t make things awkward and fall back into old ways. We needed a fresh start. We left the closet and parted ways. I went to catering and caught up with Britt and Tanea. It wasn’t long before James came up to us. “Can I steal her away?” He asked the girls. They looked over at me, Britt smirked. I rolled my eyes at her to which she laughed. I stood up and followed  him into the hallway. “How was your match?” I asked.  “felt great, thanks for asking.” I nodded, “no problem.” “Um so how long are you in Florida for?” “Until Friday afternoon.” “Well would you want to go for dinner tomorrow?” He rubbed his hands together, looking nervous. I smiled, “I’d like that.” He grinned, “oh great. Is 7 good?” I nodded, “that’s perfect. I’m just staying at Britt’s place.” “Oh, I know where she stays. I’ll see you tomorrow then.” “That you will.”

Oooooo I have an idea for a request if you are currently accepting. I’ve read everything on your blog so far and I’m in love! I saw you have a Matt Jackson request in progress and naturally that got me thinking of Nick Jackson. Because both boys deserve all of the love haha. So just soft and fluffy hours with a needy and snuggly Nick would be amazing if you’re down for it! ❤️
Aww thank you <3
I can do that! Hope you enjoy my Matt Jackson imagine

My Medicine | A Matt Jackson fic
Status: Requested by anon
Description: Your husband has been sick lately and you’re his only salvation.
Tumblr media
Marriage is about two people that love each other so much, they will do anything to make your partner happy. When your partner is upset, you are as well. You feel the same pain and try everything in your power to turn that around. Your marriage with Matt is no different. You’ve been together for half a decade. There was never a dull moment when you’re together. Your marriage isn’t perfect by any means, but it was rare for the two of you to argue. He is one of the sweetest men you ever met. This was the first relationship you completely felt secure in. You knew he would be your forever from that first date. On your wedding day there was no doubt in your mind. Matt is one of those guys that is usually in a good mood. He has a lot going for him and he knew it. He is a pure, kind-hearted soul that put everyone else before himself. Your friends admired the love you and Matt had for each other. He was always holding your hand and giving you random kisses throughout the day. He spoiled you with attention. That’s all you really wanted. You aren’t a materialistic woman, your love language is attention and human touch. He’s the same way. So when he’s distant, it’s extremely noticeable. You just came home from work to see Matt on the couch, staring at the wall. He went from a seated position to a laying one, not breaking contact with the wall. You dropped your bag on a chair and walked toward the couch. He wasn’t looking in your direction so it was easy for you to approach him without giving him a scare. “Matt? Sweetheart?” You moved to where you were in his line of sight. “Matt, are you okay?” He didn’t say anything, all he did was blink. “This isn’t funny Matthew, talk to me.” You sat on the edge of the couch and placed a hand on his bicep. He let out a moan. “I don’t- feel so well.” You moved your hand to his forehead. “You’re burning up.” There was only one other time he got sick to the point of a fever. “Let me get you a cold cloth.” You walked to the kitchen and grabbed a towel from a cabinet. You let it run under the water then rung it out until it wasn’t dripping. You walked back into the living room to see Matt taking off his socks. “Good, you need to get those off.” He looked up at you and gave you a small smile. “It feels nice,” he whined. He laid back down so you could place the cloth on his head. “I’m going to take a shower and change. Get some rest and I’ll be back to make you something.” You took his hand and kissed his knuckles. You retreated upstairs and did as you said you would. After a half hour, you made your way back down. Matt was asleep, snoring loudly cause he couldn’t breathe. You made some soup so by the time he woke up, you’ll be ready to eat. You went to check on him every 10 minutes, he was still asleep. The towel had fallen off his head and onto the carpet. You picked it up and touched Matt’s head to see if the fever went down. He felt slightly less warm. Matt twitched and opened his eyes. “Hey, baby. How are you feeling?” You smiled at him. “I’m fine, I needed that nap.” He sat up slowly while you went to the kitchen to get the soup. It was finally done so you took the ladle and poured it into two bowls. “I have your favorite, chicken soup.” He loved your chicken soup cause it remined him of his moms. He grabbed the bowl with both of his hands. You dragged the end table to the front of the couch. “That’s hot, put it down.” You paused for a moment then sat next to him. “I sound like a mom, I’m sorry.” You let out a chuckle. He smiled, “it’s cute.” You smiled back and started eating your dinner. After a while you grabbed the remote and put the tv on. You flipped through and landed on a romantic comedy. The two of you sat in silence besides the occasional laughs.  When the time turned to 8 o’clock you finished cleaning up and sat back on the couch. You sat next to Matt, then he laid down, his head in your lap. “Thank you for taking care of me.” He looked up at you and reached his hand to your cheek. You smiled, “I love you, no need to thank me.” “I do.” He let out a cough and turned to the side to watch tv. And just naturally you started to play with his hair. He had long, soft hair. You were lowkey jealous of how his hair looked. He gave you all his hair secrets, but it never was the same. You really always had your hair in a bun or ponytail. You ran your fingers through and added some twirls, not tangling his hair. “That feels so nice,” he said softly. You giggled and continued. He turned back around so he could look at you. He closed his eyes and started to drift off to sleep again. You kept going until your hand got tired. It wasn’t long before you fell asleep yourself. You leaned your head back. The couch back was tall and soft enough for you to lay back comfortably. The two of you slept well into the early morning. By the next morning he was looking more like himself. The color was back in his face and his eyes were more alert. He woke you up. You opened your eyes to see a smiling Matt. “You look better.” “I feel a little better.” “Don’t over exert yourself today since you’re feeling better.” You stood up and stretched your body. “I won’t.” You placed a kiss on the top of his head and made your way to the kitchen. You made some toast for him since he was still a little nauseous. This time he walked into the kitchen, still a little unstable on his feet. He held onto the chair as he sat at the dining table. “I would have brought it to you.” You placed the toast on a dish and walked it to him. He turned his head to see you and let out a chuckle. “I need to gain my strength back. I’ll lose these gains real quick.” You laughed, shaking your head. “You won’t lose muscle after a couple of days.” “You’d be surprised Mrs. Jackson.” He looked down at his plate you just placed on the table. You raised your brow. “Well Mr. Jackson you look great so don’t worry.” He looked back up at you with a smirk. “How great?” “Just eat your toast.” You pulled out your chair and sat next to him at the head of the table. He grabbed a slice and bit into it, looking at you to emphasize that he was eating it. “Okay, mom.” “See? I knew it!” You threw your hands up dramatically.  “I’m just messing, baby. Now, can you play with my hair again?” He pouted his lips, making you laugh. “I can do that,” you nodded. He finished his breakfast and went back to the couch. He sat up until you sat so he could lay his head on you. And just like last night, you played with his hair until he fell asleep. This was your life and you wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Maple Candy | A Freddie Anderson short
Status: fluff piece requested by anon
Description: You, a Toronto native give your boyfriend a new obsession.
A/N: I decided to make this a cute little short. Let me know if you’d enjoy more of these types of imagines.
Tumblr media
One year ago you met your boyfriend Freddie. He started playing hockey for the Maple Leafs in 2016. One of your good friends works for the Leafs and put you on with him at a house party. His smile and the way he talked just melted you right away. You were a fan of his before you met, but that didn’t really matter. Now you started to get to know the real him, and not the one that you just see in interviews. His down to earth personality drew you in. He’s one of those guys who is sweet and sensitive, he doesn’t let his fame get to him. He always stays grounded and that’s what you love about him.
One day you two went to a candy shop in the heart of Toronto. He found it while you walked hand and hand, downtown. He was literally like a kid in a candy store. You found it so adorable. “Pick out anything you want,” he kissed the top of your head. The store looked like the one in the beginning of Willy Wonka. You looked up at him and smiled, “you as well.” His eyes sparkled when you said that. You let out a giggle at the look on his face. He let go of your hand and walked away with a skip in his step. You giggled and placed your hand on your head, shaking it. You followed along with him and chose a few of your favorites. He would turn to you every once in a while to show you what he picked. “You don’t have to show me everything Freddie.” He let out a chuckle, “I’m excited.” You laughed and went about through the store. “Wait, what are these?” He showed you a bag of brown squared candies. You took the bag from his hand and looked at it. “Oh, these are maple candies. Have you ever had one?” You handed the bag back to him. He looked down at it, reading the label. “Never.”
“You never had maple candies and you’ve been in Toronto for like four years?” You asked in disbelief. He smiled, “is it a crime?”
“Yeah, especially if you play for a team with maple in the name.”
He nodded, “fair enough.”
“We’re buying it, you have to try them.” You two payed for all the candy you bought. Once you got back to your condo, you opened the bag of maple candy. He grabbed a piece out of the bag. You watched him as he took a small bite to feel it out. He nodded in delight. “That’s so good.” He finished the rest of the small square. “I know right?! You’re missing out on everything maple.”
“I can see that. I only ever had maple syrup.”
“That’s going to change.” He grabbed another small square and popped it in his mouth. His eyes closed and he let out a quiet "mhmm." You watched as he enjoyed the candy. You couldn't help, but let out a laugh. "I love these," he said after he swallowed the last bit. "More than me?" You asked jokingly, but with puppy dog eyes. He smiled and kissed your cheek. "Never. You're the love of my life." You cuddled close to him for the rest of the day. Never in your life have you seen a man so excited about maple candy.
