We've run out of food and drinks for the past few days and we're moving tomorrow, so there's a lot of packing to be done and we're gonna need groceries for our new place. We also can't pack properly if we're exhausted from hunger and thirst.

To that end, Kalen and I are both offering services to raise money with which to support ourselves. I'm offering sensitivity readings, and Kalen is offering custom covers for your fics/projects.

This is obviously very urgent since we have to be out of here by tomorrow.

I guess what I think is that suicide is a symptom of a problem and not the problem to fix, you know what I mean? To stop suicides you have to stop people’s mental health from getting to the point where they consider it, you have to treat the disease, trying to treat the symptom itself is almost completely useless.

For instance, Japan has spent a great deal of money on anti-suicide infrastructure, doing genuinely cartoonishly things like putting rollers on bridge railings so you can’t climb over them and slide right off, putting blue lights in the subway so it’s harder to see to throw yourself in front of a train. It’s not working. Japan’s suicide rate rose again in 2022. They are not addressing the root causes and stressors in their citizen’s lives and social barriers to mental health care and psychiatric medication.

It’s the same with universities in America, many have spent an exorbitant amount of money on turning their dorms into psych ward like environments. Anti-hanging chairs that you can’t stand on, bunks you can’t hang yourself from, slanted doorknobs etc. And yet suicide is still the second leading cause of death for college students. They make no attempts to make college easier, to make pausing and resuming your studies better, to make the pressure of an academic environment feel less life or death. They make no accommodations for the individual. They just make it a little harder to hang yourself in a few rooms on campus and call it a day, say they’re being proactive in terms of mental health.

Tuesday, January 16th: Hello everyone, I’m Gemma, a bi, mentally ill, and disabled woman in desperate need of help, as I'm struggling to keep my utilities on, and get groceries for January!!!

I am so sorry to be making this post at such an inconvenient time, but I'm struggling so terribly right now to make ends meet while on welfare/disability. And since the festive season, I have been in desperate need of aid to keep my utilities on, as well as getting groceries for January, which I am in dire need of.

I also don't receive my welfare again until the 31st, so this is extremely urgent as my electricity meter has 29p in it and is about to go onto its emergency credit along with my gas meter!!!

If anyone could spare any amount to help me, it would save my life, and sharing definitely helps just as much as donations. Thank you!! ❤️

Jewish Voice for Peace has a site which automatically connects you to the right people and provides a script you can use to call your members of congress if you're in the US.

Islamic Relief in the UK also has a page where you can write to your MPs to call for a ceasefire.

I often agree with your takes but Taylor turning Damian into a Sand Cat isn't racist. Damian us portrayed as white passing fans call the artist racist. Damian beast form is shown as the Sand Cat. Known as the King of the Desert. The only small cat truly native to the Desert and a species so ninja they're rarely seen by humans. Native only to NA/ME and SE Asia. The writer is racist! Come on. Fans view this as racist cos they jump to feral gremlin. Why? who's the racist?

Taylor isn't being racist. The fans are being ignorant and racist. That's why their mind can only see feral/gremlin. It'd the same type of racism that leads fans to draw Damian as Brown yet he's Chinese/ME [neither races are brown. ME's are caucasian] they draw him melanated cos he's an 'other'. Doesn't matter what the ethnic mix. ethnic simply means darker. That level of disregard, racism and ignorance is always sad to see esp when hailed as progressive.

I'm sorry to clog up your notes but it really bothers me when fans are quick to label without taking the time to learn why. Racism is an important word. It's serious and demand attention but everyone's throwing it around so casually it doesn't carry the same weight. Imagine a world where it's so frequently used that folks become numb and tone it out? So please fandom respect the word. explore the sand cat. Those who saw catdami as racist might want to look inwards

Oh I didn't say Taylor was racist because Damian was a cat.....I was WARY when we first saw that was going to happen in covers and solicits, based on Taylor's TRACK RECORD of using characters of color in pain or in humiliating or degrading positions as a comedic beat, but THIS panel, specifically, is what I was reacting to yesterday after I saw it making the early rounds on twitter. And given your own middle paragraph here, I'm going to have to turn this question back to you.....again, who is it you're claiming made the leap to Damian being portrayed that way?

Sorry not sorry, this is racist. And 'the real racists are the ones who draw a character of color with darker skin' is definitely a take, but its not one that's going to find any traction here.
