hello friends, enemies, followers, passerbys, and other associated guests. i've been in the trenches (/dramatic), but fortunately i survive. sorry to everyone with requests in the inbox that've been there for like a gazillion years. i poke at them sometimes and i feed and water them well and maybe soon they will blossom into lovely posts.

cg!guest 1337 + little!chance headcanons

i think guest is a natural at taking care of them… he is a father, after all! honestly i think he'd pick up on chance regressing (probably not even consciously) and he just sort of naturally starts acting a little softer and more doting towards him.

chance gets really embarrassed about regressing so he tends to self-isolate when they do. [un]fortunately for him guest is not a fan of this. he's showing up at his door every 30 minutes to check on them and ask if they need something. guest cares a lot in general but something about his unconscious dad instinct is like.. Okay.. Well.. I have to do something about this..

i think eventually chance would open up to him and explain it to him and it kind of finally clicks with guest why he felt so compelled to take care of him. from that point forward i think guest does more deliberately step into the role of his caretaker

chance probably calls him dad. he seems like a dad cg…

guest isn't very big on petnames or nicknames (unless chance wants him to call them specific ones, in which case he happily obliges) because he finds calling chance his name personal enough. sometimes he will drop a sweetheart/kiddo/kid/etc though

chance gets understimulated really easily when they're regressed so he always needs to be Doing Something or otherwise occupied or else he gets really fussy. guest is pretty good at stringing along activities or finding things that are just engaging enough to keep them happy while not too much to the point where he gets overwhelmed. he has Practice…dad of the year…

chance tends to chew on things (like their hair or his clothes) a lot without realizing. conveniently, guest has learned this is easily countered with lollipops and assorted hard candies

guest likes to hold him a lot. he's very physically affectionate with his loved ones and family. it makes him happy to just hold chance in his lap or bounce him on his knee while idly doing something else because he knows chance is safe and can keep an eye on him within his reach.

guest is definitely strong enough to pick chance up, too. he Will make a big show out of twirling his kid around or picking him up and holding him like he's way smaller than he is because it makes chance super happy.

i think chance is also sort of a cocomelon kid so to speak LOL. those stupid dancing fruit and colorful baby sensory videos remind him of slot machines so they get fixated really easily. guest tries not to put him in front of them too much but if he has to do something for a brief period of time but has nobody to keep an eye on chance then he's putting on the baby sensory videos so chance can occupy himself

guest likes to listen to chance babble to him. guest isn't much of a talker but regressed chance most definitely is, and this works out great. he'll nod his head and go "oh?" or "no, really?" and some questions here and there and such to encourage them to keep going.

i think he flipflops in perceiving himself as great with kids and awful with kids. i think he's naturally pretty patient and gentle by nature however he worries his very elaborate way of speaking can be off-putting or confusing. i think he's really happy to know that a little can like the way he presents himself and acts, not despite it

he loves reading you stories. he is a book reading fanatic. he's out here figuring out the best books to find and read to you. he's compiling lists and reading plenty of reviews. nothing but the best for his kid

loves not only reading to you, but with you. lay down on the floor with him and read a book to him while he gently helps you along. it will bring him joy to no end

furthermore i think he prides himself on his storytelling skills. having a hard time sleeping? he'll sit next to you in bed and start rambling on about some fairy tale he's making up on the spot until you fall asleep

afraid of the dark? no problem. built-in nightlight!

while playing pretend he Will do the most dramatic monologues ever and is pleased to see you giggle. big fan of encouraging your imagination and creative endeavors

i think he leans on the overprotective side. he's very doting and concerned. sometimes he can come off as a bit scolding but he always makes sure to reassure you he's not mad, he just cares a lot

gives you a fake wand for you to play with and "teach you spells" (he's wondering how long he can convince you that you really are conjuring light and that he's not just turning the light switch on while you're distracted)

overall i think he's a very loving and patient caregiver… he can come off a bit stilted at times because of the manner in which he speaks but he is Very fond of you. he's a little overprotective but he really does mean well! he expresses his fondness through being protective and doting because sometimes he worries it's hard to tell through his flowery language and occasionally verbose demeanor

agere!ghosdeeri + caretaker!vine staff headcanons

plenty of flower petnames. vine has a list of ones she thinks ghosdeeri likes the most. among them are petal, sprout, tulip, and rosebud.

vine speaks in a really particular voice when she's in Caretaking Mode™. she slips into that preschool teacher voice. [gently] "do you want apple slices or blueberries today?"

shuriken is pretty good at sewing, since he made his own costume. sometimes vine enlists his help to make ghosdeeri blankets or other nice little gifts, since she herself isn't as interested in making clothes like shuriken is.

vine loves taking ghosdeeri out to the garden and getting her to help with the flowers. she loves how ghosdeeri lights up when she pulls out a particularly stubborn weed or how interested she gets in vine's passionate rambles about horticulture.

ghosdeeri has a lot of texture sensitivities when she's regressed, but vine is very patient and adaptable. you don't like the texture of that shirt? that's okay, let's try some others. you don't want to wear shoes today? that's okay, sprout, do you think we could try flipflops?

they like to do big jigsaw puzzles together. the more pieces, the better. they're usually week long projects they poke at whenever they're bored and have nothing else they want to do.

Reader tends to keep to themselves and sometimes lashes out. They also sometimes finds Shedletsky annoying.

i think his immediate reaction to a somewhat introverted reader is "you know, i think they just need to meet the right person to help them get out of their shell!"

you are absolutely no exception. he takes your irritation as a challenge, almost

especially considering the circumstance, he sees it to be his responsibility to try to "help" you. because he's convinced that you have a problem (struggles to understand that you're just not inclined to be social), and worries about how it affects not just you, but the survivor team as a whole

in the downtime between rounds, at the cabin, he goes out of his way to seek you out wherever you are

trying to sit by yourself in the corner? well, shedletsky's here now!

oh, trying to sit outside by yourself? wow, what a surprise, shedletsky just so happened to be checking out behind the cabin by total coincidence! (/sarcasm)

he's kind of convinced you don't actually find him annoying, more so you're putting up a front to try to push him away

after a particularly bad round, you try to find some time for yourself to just sit and think out behind the cabin, lamely picking at the grass and pulling it out of the ground

and — like a dog, almost — he comes and seeks you out

he opens his mouth to make a stupid quip (because he always does, because he's shedletsky, and he always has to lighten the mood and can't just let things be)

but you beat him to the punch

you snip at him and tell him, straight to his face, that sometimes you think he's the most annoying man to have ever walked robloxia

okay. wow. ouch

he instantly recoils and just kind of stares at you. you can practically see the cogs turning in his head

his ego immediately clashes with his concern, and for once he's not really sure what to say, so he just kind of.. stares at you. quietly

you've snapped at him before, sure, but never like that. never so viscerally

his shock kind of startles you out if your fit of irritation. you immediately go to apologize; that you just aren't doing well, and you didn't mean to lash at him like that

but before you can say anything he walks closer, and takes a seat on the ground next to you

"so i'm a bit much sometimes?" he asks, a note of concern to his voice, looking up at the stars.

you give a small nod.

and shedletsky just nods in kind. "y'know, i guess i can try to tone it down a bit." he looks at you from the corner of his eye, a smile finding its way onto his face. "if it's you, i mean."
