You know what was the first thing that I loved about Young Royals?
In the start, you'd think that Wilhelm is gonna be this party craze bad boy, who's broody and mysterious. But he wasn't, he turned out to be huge dork and I absolutely loved it. I was so tired of the tsundere character being brought out by the love interest.
And Wilhelm is kind to everybody. English shows constantly show characters who are rude and assholes to everyone, including their elder and teachers. But, it wasn't like that in YR. He doesn't have an air of arrogance because he was the prince, and nor did Eric. And I loved the fact that Simon wasn't that intimidated or impressed by Wilhelm. To him, he's just a normal boy, who looks at you like he wan gobble you up.

Rereading Hunger Games made me realise alot of things, made me remember things I'd forgotten. But mostly, it made me fall in love with Peeta Mellark. I love that boy with all my heart. He is nice, he is pretty, kind and humble and oh so understanding. He is strong, he is snarky and witty. He can fucking burn the world with his words. He lost his family, he lost his district, but you know, if he hadn't been taken away by Snow, I still think he would have been a kind boy who still sees the good in others. He didn't lose his humanity and wasn't stricken by urge to take revenge. Getting a beating just for a girl he goes to school with😭 I love how his type of rebellion was small and subtle, but still strong af. Paint Rue, give their winnings. I would kill for a guy like Peeta💛
The world doesn't deserve Peeta.

THESE VIOLENT DELIGHTS - Julian and Paul
I think Julian understood Paul very well. He could see through him, what he wanted, what he felt, his innate lust to kill just so he could feel something, he even understood what Paul wanted to do at the end.
But Paul only saw in Julian what he wanted to see. This fiesty and assertive male, who was smart, beautiful and rich. But Julian was a lot more, he was sensitive, he wanted to take care of Paul. He was just a boy craving for love. That's probably why he always hung out at Paul's...to feel the familial love
And since it's from Paul's POV, we'll never really know what Julian felt, or how he was as a person. We see him through Paul's lens, which is very smudgy.
Paul's insecurities made him blind to Julian's feelings and wants. He could never believe in Julian's love and even if he did, he didn't think he deserved it.

Unpopular opinion:
Red White Royal Blue is very cheesy and cringe. I couldn't get through the book. None of the characters are that likeable. We've always been taught not to judge a book by it's cover, but Alex does this very easily. Maybe his weird obsession with Henry blinded him or something.
And First Sons and First Daughters aren't really that important, like the Royalty(who are also overrated). But the Royalty is way more important because they'll always be princes and theyll remembered through shows like the Crown and what not, but First Sons and daughters? Nobody except the Americans care about them.
"omg, he likes starwars. This person is so different than I thought."
Why would anyone open up to a stranger? Why would Henry go about telling people his likes and dislikes especially someone as arrogant as Alex? Maybe he thought he'd be mocked.
Also, this is the 21st century. There have plenty discussions about how famous people aren't actually what we see on screen. We read plenty of things everyday, how celebrities feel violated , how someone of them come up with alter egos to cope with the fame and show different sides of themselves. This is not a new thing. Yet Alex didn't know that. He was always like, "Ah, starwars! He wears pyjamas? I thought he was so uptight that he only wears suits to sleep."
Why couldn't Alex get that? Henry has been in the spotlight since he was born, he learnt from a young age to put up guards around himself and only to let a few people in. He probably had a hard time figuring out if people were talking to him because they liked him or simply because he was the Prince.
I also don't get why the sister stays in the White House though. To keep an eye on him, doesn't make sense.

STILL THINKING ABOUT IWWV
You know, there was no suspicion of murder whatsoever on any of the fourth years. Sure, Colborne thought all of them were hiding something, but nobody else believed that one of them had killed Richard. Oliver destroyed the pieces of evidence he found and there was no way the cops had even a whiff of that. If Meredith hadn't gone on and told Colborne that James did it, nothing woulda happened. And even if she had, they coulda denied it. Because what evidence was there to suggest James had killed Richard? (The evidence was all hidden) Oliver and James could've easily gotten out of it, if they had just shut up and lied through their teeth. Meredith said she just knew, but she had no solid proof of it.
And Oliver had no reason to take the blame on himself💀. I think it was for the dramatic flair that the ending turned out the way it did. I feel all of them are a little responsible for Richard's death.
