Daisy Was Always A Tomboy
So something I've noticed is a decent amount of people believe Daisy wasn't originally intended to be a tomboy, and this was a trait of her's added on later.
However, this was always intended be tomboyish since Super Mario Land. So her Japanese Super Mario Land description refers to her being well a tomboy. Written by Eris

i just can't convey the frustration and sorrow that it's been to grow up at first without the internet and then watching it bloom into this useful, fun, connecting force you sometimes spent time on, only for it to degrade into this constant oppressive waste of time and energy where people are constantly pumping out algorithmically designed content for max algorithmic appeal and even the most simple search generates either no results or an infinite abyss of ai generated slop none of which is usable or correct. we briefly had a library of alexandria and then fed it into a paper shredder so advertisers could sell a random mash of pulp back to us at a premium.

đĽ Small Writing Habits That Genuinely Changed How I Write đĽ
listen. iâm not here to sell you a productivity system or convince you that waking up at 5am will make you a novelist. i am deeply Not That Girl. HOWEVER, here are 5 chaotic little writing habits that quietly rearranged my brain chemistry:
âď¸ typing BEFORE i know what happens i used to think i had to outline everything before writing. wrong. i get more done when i let the scene surprise me. just start with vibes and a line of dialogue. the rest shows up once you start moving.
đŁď¸ saying the scene out loud like a play no joke. talking my scenes out like a script?? life-changing. the pacing, the emotion, the rhythm of it all makes more sense when i act like iâm gossiping about my blorbos in a voice memo.
â 20-minute timers (not for productivity, just to start) i tell myself âjust 20 minutes.â sometimes i stop. sometimes i blink and itâs 2 hours later and someoneâs been emotionally eviscerated in chapter 12. this oneâs black magic. use wisely.
đŻď¸ re-reading my WIP like a book no editing, no judging, just reading through with snacks like itâs already published. changes how i see the pacing and emotional arcs. also reminds me it doesnât completely suck.
đ§ leaving in the messy parts i used to delete scenes that felt âoff.â now i just write a little comment like âTHIS IS BAD BUT KEEP GOING.â turns out momentum matters more than vibes. shocking, i know.
anyway. tiny habits. huge mental rewiring. 10/10. highly recommend.

First Chapters That Donât Suck...
⧠You do not have to start with action. You have to start with interest. I will read two whole pages about someone making soup if theyâre muttering about killing a god while doing it.
â§Your first sentence doesnât have to be deep, mysterious, or poetic. It can just be âThe corpse wouldn't shut up,â or âThe milk was cursed again.â Get (PLEASE) weird.
⧠Starting with a dream sequence is legal only if someone wakes up and says, âThatâs the third time Iâve died in my sleep this week.â
⧠The point of Chapter One is not to explain the entire world. Itâs to hook the reader and emotionally blackmail them into turning the page.
⧠Introduce ONE conflict. Not five. One delicious little problem to gnaw on. âOh no, theyâre late for their job at the magical DMV.â Iâm in.
⧠You donât have to name every person your character walks past. Save the lore dump for later. If you give me eight capitalized names and two empires in the first paragraph, I will cry.
⧠Dialogue is a great opener if it makes me ask a question. If someone says âDid you hide the body?â in the first line, Iâm staying.
⧠First impressions matter. So if your MCâs first action is whining about something boring, I will throw them. Gently. Out a window.
⧠Itâs okay to rewrite your first chapter after you finish the book. In fact, please do. Future-you will understand what the story actually needed.
