And if you go through Orin's stuff before the showdown in the living room, you learn that she was an inbreed meant to be sacrificed by his father/grandfather, who she practically worships, and you hit her with this info you got through her mother's preserved dead body causing her to have a mental break down.
The thing is, you can't manage mental illness born from social problems as an individual. You can try, but it won't be effective. I am not saying this to be a doomer; on the contrary, we have to engage in society, in civil society, rather than trying to come up with individual temporal solutions that will not solve the primary source of our problem. By organizing with people who share similar concerns to you, you'll realize that you're not alone in this. In addition, civil society organizations and social movements benefit from numbers, so the more, the merrier. Of course, participating in civil society organizations and social movements does not guarantee change. However, the opposite of it, withdrawing from society will certainly not be a solution.
i actually wasn't going to post anything regarding the eartquake in turkey because even though i'm physically not affected by it, still witnessing this kind of a distaster in my country is quite mentally draining. since it's almost impossible to see a footage so real in turkish tv, coming across this video first thing in the morning when i wake up made me tear up.
it's the greek state television opening the morning news with photos and videos of wreckages in turkey with a very emotional folk song we have. many countries around the world have send help since the first minute and times like this remind me that at the end of the day, we all are human.
adding these, the government here does so little to help people in the earthquake area and we have lost 7k+ people, thousands of building collapsed and even though it's passed 50hrs, there are people waiting for help and villages, cities with no rescue team reached. erd*gan and his allies have left everyone in the country alone and devastated and what's more heartbreaking is that the earthquake isn't the real reason behind the deaths, but it's the negligence, the disregard the politicians showed and continue to show.
please, please consider donating ahbap, a charity organization by turkish singer & philanthropist, haluk levent. it's probably the most and only reliable fundraiser we have here in turkey since the govm. related ones are absolutely full of shit. the link is here, please donate. help in any way you can.
for once again. two devastating earthquakes happened in turkey and people need your help. it's been 3 days and there are still people buried alive and about to die any minute but you can save them.
1. DON'T DONATE to kızılay.org (red cross) > why? because although they're a legit government organization, they've been pocketing donations and earthquake taxes since 1999 gölcük earthquake. there are thousands of articles about them on the internet and every turkish people asks the same question: "what happened to the earthquake special taxes in turkey?"
2. DONATE TO
