I’ve probably talked about it before but another thing I like about Kirk/Spock is that you can interpret their relationship however you want, but they still canonically love each other and are significant to one another in every way that matters.

Like the idea of having “your person” is almost always shown as a romantic thing, and when romantic attraction is something that you don’t really experience it can be kind of disheartening?? But Kirk and Spock are very much shown and described as being one another’s person in the canon. And maybe you see them as platonic, maybe you see them as romantic, it doesn’t matter. Their loyalty, respect, and affection for one another is still there either way.
