Day Two of Borrowing
Today was educational. I learned that the bean is a boy and I got a really good look at him. He looked like an overgrown borrower! His hair was a mess and went past his ears, there were bags under his eyes, he seemed to have whiskers? He had brow fur that connected at the nose like a borrower would, too! He— it, whatever— almost never comes out of that fancy shiny door. I don’t hear any noise coming from it, so I assume he is hibernating with how his appearance is. So far, his schedule of spending a half-clock out twice a day in the kitchen seems to be consistent, then returning to his nest to sleep around 3 bt. I will do one more day of observation to be sure before I go on a good and proper borrowing trip.
I did, however, get to do a bit of exploring through his food storage! I remember father called it a pantry once, or maybe that was a cabinet.. Whichever one was big and touched the floor. This guy is a JACKPOT! There is so much bread, and so many snack foods! I also found a HUGE box of meat logs and I plan on dragging one back to my hole tomorrow.
I never thought borrowing would be this easy! Maybe once I’m comfortable with his schedule, I can even try borrowing his little phone box thingy when he’s asleep. I think that’s what mother called it, anyway. I’ve always wanted to try one.
Okay, I’m off! Happy borrowing, readers!
P.S. hello from the future again! I’m really getting the hang of these letters. This is great! The bean has no idea!

Day One of Borrowing…
Today went smoothly! I’m The best borrower. My name is Clover Valley Paper, and my father is Folgers Black Silk Paper and my mother is Nature’s Own Paper. I am carrying on their legacy and today is my very first day on my own! Well, technically I spent four nights trying to find this place, but it was worth it! I only caught a glance of my new bean once, it seems to spend most of its time behind the scary shiny door. I didn’t know houses could have those!
I hope one day this journal will be submitted into the annual texts. That would be so sauce. Me, Clover, only 15 years old, barely fully grown! A text annual! Hello fellow borrowers! Hello mama and pa!
Anyway, I haven’t actually borrowed anything yet. I still have two yogurt raisins, a jerky chunk and a few cracker crumbs left so I can just focus on getting settled into this neat Burrow spot I found in the walls. I can’t believe how lucky I am!
P.S. It is actually the fourth day when I’m posting this! I managed to borrow the bean’s phone… I had to transfer this from my parchment and graphite. It looks so much nicer and it’s easier to write once you learn where all the letters are. This journal app thingy is pretty cool. I always wanted a phone.
Clover, signing cheerily off!
