My heart breaks everytime I look into the beyond and see that the Mass Effect fiction forest is fucking DEAD.

Except you and other few people.

But that's not what I wanna blabble about rn, my ME hyperfixation came back full force and I keep thinking thoughts about what if in the story line, somewhat in the start, shepard and the New crew come a across someone from beyond their universe, someone magical. Since magic doesn't exist in Mass Effect, I'd just think it'd be pretty funny for some extra dimensional hopping magic human to break every law of causality the citadel races knew and drive their scientists crazy.

Like wdym you wave your hand and have a reaper erupt into starfire??? The fuck are you talking about when you grab shepard's hand and you can see the same Vision they saw on Eden???

Wtf do you mean when you say you can see all the death on the citadel that was done by the reapers in all of history????!!

Horde of Geth heretics close in, you strike a pose, and litteral stars cut through them from a tear in reality. Liara is in awe and having an existential crisis.

Tali got stabbed and instead of getting her some medigel, you scoop up some water and throw at her, wow rude- oh hey it's healed.

Legion beyond curious, you defy all logic, they want to learn more about you.

Garrus probably having a heart attack when you walk a of ledge...only to sigh when you simply float instead of falling to your death

Javik having a suprised pikachu face when he sees you erase a reaper from existence with a barrage of magic

Saren would hate you as much, if not more than Shepard. Mid battle you just curse him into a frog.

Endless possibilities.

Honestly I'd read this if you ever write it, sometimes I get so uptight with the realism, verisimilitude, and science aspets of Mass Effect that I forget the fiction part of sci-fi. That at the end of the day, stories are meant to be fun, above all, simply fun. And the synopsis you just gave sounds like a very fun time all-round.

You love these characters you want them to have a happy ending, even if it alters the narrative—and why not have some fun and show off while you're at it?

The kind of magic you described reminded me of DnD magic, and marrying the elements of DnD wizards and sorcery to the world of Mass Effect sounds absolutely delightful. Like imagine being able to conjour a storm of ice or summon a loyal companion that's like nothing this world has ever seen. Maybe light up an entire dark abandoned ship with fairy lights, or vicious mockery your way out of a fight before it starts. You could even fling a mini black hole to suck up all the dishes you didn't wanna do, or simply pop out of the Normandy exit and swim around space without a helmet; the astral plane knows you belong, the cosmos is your home, and the stars are your friends

They try to explain it with science, of course they do. Endless tests and scans, but any attempts to actualie your powers simply ends up leaving them more confused. Much like atoms rearrange themselves based on the observer, Mordin, Liara, and Miranda have never met such a perplexing entity as you before, they're almost afraid of catergosing you as human despite your claims.

It's reminiscent of Bugs Bunny's powers in a way? Reality breaking sure, but meant to serve a whimsical purpose above all. Yeah, it would've been more practical to just knock Saren out cold, but turning him into a the terrestial amphibian known as "frog" is just so much more funny yk? To top it off, he can only turn back if he receives a "true love's kiss" and leave it up to the Citadel council whole team of lawyers scrambling around trying to find his true love (whatever that means) and unbreak this curse in order to properly interrogate him and present him before the court for his crimes.

It's also cathartic, offers a feeling of satisfaction being able to indulge the characters in their most frivolous desires just for the sake of it. You conjured a whole space shark that can walk on land for Grunt just to give him a friend! You gave Tali's suit the makeover of her dreams with a snap of your fingers. You changed Javik's armour suit to a flowing princess dress in the middle of battle that one time on a whim.

Then there is the admiration that comes from being all powerful in such a graceful way. If Shepard's a greek hero that had to claw and battle their way to victory, then you're akin to a merciful greek god descending from your mountain and came to mingle with the mortals. It's hard to take anything seriously when the divine flows through your veins, it's hard to worry about the reapers when a soft air blow from your lips could send their ships to the far edges of the known universe.

It shifts the genre of the game, doesn't it? It becomes more fable-like, a fairytale where the benevolent fairy finally flutters down in the hour of need an gives the troubled hero the blessings they need to achieve their Happy End. It was you who helped Shepard reach both of Ashley and Kaidan in time, it was you who ereased the notion of a "Virmire survivor" from this universe. There is a lot of pain in the world, but not here, not where you are.
