“i wish you’d been my son but i could not have born a cat like you” is honestly one of the most heartbreaking lines in all of warriors because even on her deathbed yellowfang still thinks that she is not worthy of the kindness and the love that fireheart showed her, and that line is directly followed up with “starclan gave me brokentail to teach me a lesson” meaning she still blames herself for everything that happened in shadowclan even after telling fireheart again and again that sometimes, things happen and it’s nobody’s fault and that you have to take time to heal and process things but she never took that time for herself and while Fireheart proved to her that there WAS selfless good in the world, after everything she still didn’t think that she was worthy of that selfless, unwavering love herself

Ever think about how as soon as Yellowfang got to ThunderClan, she adopted Fireheart and Cinderpelt - the two cats who helped heal her and get her life back - and then how she died surrounded by flames and ash in the place she learned to love the most with Fireheart at her side and how the entire time it may have been a warning/prophecy all on it's own?

Red Foxes, the animal that imo appears the most and is given the most misleading size descriptions and depictions in the books. They’re cat size. They’re literally cat sized. Please, Erins, they are cat sized. The fox kits Lion Jay and Holly find and are chased by? Might have actually been smaller than them if the books were accurate. I can’t really blame most the animation community for depicting them so large, because they’re described as being huge canonically, to the point you’d think they were coyotes or wolves with how much damage they can do sometimes. But really though, they’re not that big. They’re smaller than geese, weigh less than badgers, are definitely smaller than large dog breeds, and often only taller than cats because their necks and legs are longer, but their mass? just about the same as a cat’s.

Interesting thing about foxes, though they’re generally solitary hunters they don’t mind sharing opportunistic meals with competing species. Would they fight with the clans? yeah sure, but I think it would be possible for the clans to have some stories of foxes doing things that are playful or collaborative and be really confused about it.

theres like no ‘i havent read the books in years and am simply extrapolating from oversaturated fan interpretation’ distortion greater than how people act about ivypool and dovewing in oots btw. like not only is dovewing (RIGHTFULLY) just as argumentative as ivypool/genuinely playing a far more ‘rebellious’ role by constantly questioning the code and its constraints but also like. the only fucking time they argue is when theyre both young apprentices. yet people spun the situation on its head and somehow act like ivypools anger about her sister being concerned about her dark forest training is somehow righteous because ummmmm. dovewing loves the prophecy and has no emotions and has never broken clan rules before in her life. every time ivypool confronts her she looks sad and cries and is resigned to the horrible fate of the world. soooo sad
