Aaron Dessner on 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT' and Taylor Swift:
'' We started working on these songs over two years ago and it feels like they have kept us company and evolved in beautiful and unexpected ways through so much life lived during this process. It's hard to believe Taylor and I have now recorded over 60 songs together (17 across this anthology!!) in the 4 years since we began working together on Folklore in 2020. I am forever grateful to Taylor for sharing her insane talents with and trusting me with her music. I believe these songs are some of the most lyrically acute, intricate, vulnerable and cathartic Taylor has ever written and I am continually astonished by her skills as a songwriter and performer.''
I really love the little detail of paw prints on the promotional posts for THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT because all of this stuff is coming from Taylor’s desk, so of course the cats would be stepping all over her desk and leaving their marks on her documents.
being a swiftie is truly not for the fainthearted because you have to deal with the fandom's bullshit and you have to deal with the general public's bullshit and you have to deal with taylor swift's bullshit
"Lucy is in many ways an echo of who The Ghoul once was; a polite, moral person, who believed people were going to do the right thing. He certainly doesn't like to be reminded of his naivety when he looks at her. After all, it isn't just that he used to be good; it's that he used to be nice."
when I found out my friends have no siblings I always ask isn’t that kind of lonely??? And they are always like idk not really and yeah u can’t miss what you’ve never known I guess but some nights me and my little sister will stay up late even though we both have class tomorrow and we will listen to fast car by Tracy chapman on repeat no talking just us quietly listening and I think that even if I never knew my sister I would still miss her somehow
