Since I've started this blog, I've gained a big more buildings in my Lego city...that is less of a city right now and is more like scattered sets with a couple on base plates.
My main thing I really need now are base plates - WHICH I GOT QUIET A FEW
THEY ARE JUST
OFFBRAND ONES I WAS GIFTED (which I def appreciate since four of the plates in the set are sand colored - which is a color Lego doesn't even make anymore as it turns out).
They are Lego compatible, which is great it's just that...they got some weird brown residue on the bottoms of them? None on the studs which is good but it icks me the fuck out.
I'm def gonna clean the sand colored ones off so I can use them to make a little beachside setting for my city and save a ton of money on needing to buy some sand colored bricks to build things up. Plus they would be a perfect spot for me to set my Lilo and Stitch beach house on.
I will probably save the blue plates from the set as well since I need an ocean for my Jaws set since I want to integrate it into the city like a little scene. I'm honestly pretty tempted to figure out a way to modify the Bruce brick build so I could have a larger version of the great white shark hanging display that you used to see at Universal in front of the ride.
BUT THAT'S FOR AFTER I CLEAN OFF THESE FUNKY BASE PLATES I GOT! I've looked up how to clean Lego and they recommend warm water and some soft detergent (the same stuff yo use for dishes) so I'll probably just...use that and scrub like hell.

In other news, I've taken to collecting some Disney minifigs because I have the whole Disney Castle (since it's apparently retiring this year and it's the only set that has Naveen (who is my favorite Disney prince)).
It's tricky though because Lego had released a Disney themed build of a big brick built sorcerer Mickey Mouse with some minifigs of Simba, Geppetto, Sebastian, Flounder, Bruno, Belle, and Lilo.
And since that build release, they've also released a set of Lilo and Stitch's beach house AS WELL AS ANNOUNCED BEAST'S CASTLE.
Each one has a Lilo and Belle figure respectively.
Which makes me theorize they might be making Lego Disney sets of the other characters from the Sorcerer Mickey Mouse set. It's just such an interesting coincidence. It's also such a strange selection of characters they chose for the original set so maybe it was a sneaky way of hinting at sets that were going to come out in the future. And I don't want to risk getting some Disney characters from Bricklink that will just be released with updated designs in the future.
I def would like a Lego set for Geppetto and Pinocchio, like a giant brick build of Monstro or Geppetto's workshop.
And Ariel, if we're going location and castle routes, would probably be King Triton's castle, which would be very cool in Lego form. I personally think it'd be a cooler castle to build than Eric's.
I'm kinda neutral on Encanto as a film, but a Lego set, that ain't in the Friends style, of Casita would be super cool especially because it would def have minifigs of the entire family...at least...logically it should. AND EVEN IF I'M NEUTRAL ON THE MOVIE, I did think the house was beautiful and would be cool to add to the Disney section of my city.

Seeing the announcement for a Beauty and the Beast Lego castle just makes me want Nintendo and Lego to make a Princess Peach castle in the same vein as the other Lego castles - specifically something like the Cinderella castle, and have Mario minifigures that come with it.
JUST so we have some genuine minifigs and not those weird blocky figures that come with the typical Mario theme set.
I know it probably won't happen I like...C'MON MAN WE HAVE LEGO LINK AND ZELDA!
JUST ONE NORMAL MARIO MINIFIG SET AND I'LL BE HAPPY!!!

Finding out that the recent Lego minifig mystery boxes are scannable so you can know what's inside before opening it is CRAZY and game changing and tbh I need more companies to be doing this shit
The economy is in shambles - we don't got that surprise toy money anymore

THE GOAL: Make a brick city
Don't gotta be a big one, if anything I'd prefer one of those compact and detailed table top ones
TO REACH THIS OBJECTIVE I will be using Legos and different off brand shoots (especially if they are cheaper)
IT'LL TAKE ME SOME YEARS BUT I HAVE FAITH I'MMA GET THERE EVENTUALLY
My side quest is to collect the Sonic minifigs though. Specifically sets that come with figs I don't already have. At the time of posting this, I've managed to collect all the available characters and the sets that have come with them so I'm just waiting til Lego drops a new Sonic set with a new character
