It all started on that night together when Magnus lost control of his powers for the first time. This hadn't happened to him in a long time — not since he was a young, inexperienced warlock testing the limits of his powers. In almost a century, he had never failed to control his emotions.

From that evening onwards, Alec seemed delighted and filled with pride each time he managed to make Magnus' magic go haywire.

Cassandra Clare on Malec’s Wedding Rings

“Alec wanted his and Magnus’s wedding rings to be special. He bought two plain gold bands and had a faerie smith engrave them so that the Lightwood pattern of flames was on the outside, and the words Aku cinta kamu (“I love you” in Indonesian) was on the inside, thus honoring both his heritage and Magnus’s.���

Magnus started to laugh. It was odd to laugh and feel desire at the same time; he wasn’t sure he’d had that with anyone but Alec. He reached out across the space between them and pulled Alec toward him. Alec gave a sharp gasp as their bodies collided, and very quickly neither of them were laughing anymore.

Alec’s breath came short as Magnus drew off his shirt. His touch was hungry, exploring. He found the collar of Magnus’s shirt and ripped it open, pushing it off Magnus’s shoulders. His hands smoothed down Magnus’s bare arms. He pressed kisses to Magnus’s throat, his bare chest, his flat navel-less stomach.

Magnus wound his fingers into Alec’s wild dark hair and wondered if anyone had ever been this lucky.

“Lie back,” Magnus whispered at last. “Lie back, Alexander.”

I really wish I could make it clear to people that asking for updates usually has the opposite effect, even when you add "please" to your sentence. I'm not saying this to be mean, and I know the comments are meant well, that they're a way for people to show they're thinking of the fic. However, my brain is a rude thing and will immediately put that fic in the "nope" category, even when or especially when I was already working on it. Leaving a heart emoji, a short 're-read kudos', or anything of the sort is far more effective at communicating that people are thinking of the fic, without making my brain shelve the fic for the next couple of days.

If I haven't updated a fic for a while, trust me, it's not because I've forgotten about it; I know when I haven't updated in months. It usually is because I'm struggling with real life, with writer's block, or am feeling burnt out with that particular fic. In short, I'm not postponing the updates on purpose.
