been replaying VW for the ten million billionth time. i need to tweak supports because some of them would go differently with myr compared to canon byleth. hrhgh... let me speak

so this applies to plenty of supports but i Specifically want to talk about the second half of claude's B support because it makes me crazy in the head. ok. Okay so

you know how he asks if you believe in gods or not right. like that discussion is a focal point in this support

SO. this time i got it right after jeralt died erm... so it had me thinking. i actually think with myr is really did specifically take place a few days after that whole ordeal. i think he, despite not being religious, went to the cathedral at night when it was empty just to like. sit in the pews and pray. and claude happens upon him during this because he happens to be out at the time and overhears myr like... talking out loud to seemingly nobody right. because part of how he copes with loss is speaking out loud to the dead as if he's having a conversation with them and addressing his feelings like that.

so. claude comes over and ends up sitting with him. is basically like "i didn't know you were the type to pray" and myr's like "generally i'm not but i'm exploring all of my options to ensure my father is happy in the afterlife". and that leads into the whole B support right but the thing is.

when claude asks if myr believes in gods. myr kinda hesitates before he says yes. and claude is surprised by this the same way he is in canon if you sat you do. but myr kinda shakes his head and is like "it depends on what you mean by believe". and when asked to elaborate he explains that with his personal experiences he does believe that they exist... but that is different to him than believing in them. sure, they may exist — and this applies to ones from both fódlan and elsewhere — but he's pretty adamant that you can't rely on them to solve everything. you have stock in your own life. and naturally considering how claude himself is i think he goes :] because waow... he's just like me fr...

he still goes on that crazy tangent about how he can't fathom meeting myr as being anything but fate tho. #LOVEWINS and myr comes out of the whole thing feeling a little better cuz like. he is Struggling at the moment after losing the One (1) person he had growing up but now he remembers oh yeag... i am not alone... :]

running gag in which myr's got a knack for identifying poisons that should in no way shape or form be easily identifiable. claude will hand him a completely colorless and odorless poison and myr will take one look at it and go "pothos leaf extract. a little bit of diluted oleander honey to add a mean kick to it" and he's right every single time. claude has yet to figure out how he does it. the secret is that there is no secret this is just a natural ability myr apparently has
