I knew exactly what fic I wanted to use as soon as I was given @angelofbenignmalevolence to create art for for @tagminibang2022 @tagminibang! I remember it being one of the first fics I read when I was new to the thunderfam and still too nervous to actually interact with anyone 😅

I have never been able to get the image of little Gordon trapped under a dinosaur skull out of my head since!

SO, a while ago @dreamycloud​ and I had a discussion about wedding dresses for some of the GA girls, inspired by this, uh, of-its-time number. She gave me a ton of ideas and obviously I drew them 😄😄

Every person need to be taught disability history

Not the “oh Einstein was probably autistic” or the sanitized Helen Keller story. but this history disabled people have made and has been made for us.

Teach them about Carrie Buck, who was sterilized against her will, sued in 1927, and lost because “Three generations of imbeciles [were] enough.” (A decision which still has not been reversed)

Teach them about Judith Heumann and her associates, who in 1977, held the longest sit in a government building for the enactment of 504 protection passed three years earlier.

Teach them about all the Baby Does, newborns in 1980s who were born disabled and who doctors and parents left to die without treatment, who’s deaths lead to the passing of The Baby Doe amendment to the child abuse law in 1984.

Teach them about the deaf students at Gallaudet University, a liberal arts school for the deaf, who in 1988, protested the appointment of yet another hearing president and successfully elected I. King Jordan as their first deaf president.

Teach them about Jim Sinclair, who at the 1993 international Autism Conference stood and said “don’t mourn for us. We are alive. We are real. And we’re here waiting for you.”

Teach about the disability activists who laid down in front of buses for accessible transit in 1978, crawled up the steps of congress in 1990 for the ADA, and fight against police brutality, poverty, restricted access to medical care, and abuse today.

It's already 10 July somewhere, so it's Captain Scarlet Day and here is my finished pictures after days of work. I'm happy with it even if it didn't turn out exactly as I wanted--it's the first time I draw them after all.

I'm not tagging the usual TAG people from my list as this isn't TAG related, but @m-calculus you said you wanted to be tagged when it was out, so there you go!

Virgil was tired. It had been a very long day consisting of several timezones. His uniform was grotty, his exo-suit had taken a battering in a rockslide two hours earlier and was now listed as broken.

The fact he was more concerned about the condition of his equipment than the condition of himself had already resulted in a lovely hot coals raking over by his eldest brother.

Virgil was grumpy enough to nod and grunt at all the right places and then cut comms perhaps a little too abruptly.

Of course, that prompted his over protective brother/commander/whatever to ‘be there in five’ to watch over him and make sure he behaved himself.

As Virgil eyed the remains of his exo-suit and rolled his aching shoulders, he had to admit he was acting more juvenile than experienced rescue operative.

He sighed.

Too damned tired.

Hey ya 👋 Gordon here. Today I got to go to a castle & Zoo with my little brother Allie & @cg29 for her birthday. It was a fabulous time and we took lots of pictures for you all to see 💛

I'm enjoying this series XD

I'm so on the fence... The face looks obviously better than the base colors did but I like it and don't like it at the same time. It looks like her and it doesn't. 😅

I'll tweak it when I'm done with the other faces so it'll change a bit. Hopefully I'll fix a few of the things I don't like.

"You... you're here. You're really here."

Whumpee gave a teary smile. As they began to notice Caretaker hesitating to even come close to them, they held their arms out as an invitation for a hug.

"It's okay. You can hug me," they gently assured them. That was all the consent Caretaker needed to wrap Whumpee up in the biggest hug they could possibly muster. Though they tried their best to keep it together, they quickly began to cry all over again, as they had been since the day they found out Whumpee had gone missing.

However, these tears were far from those of sadness.

In fact, Caretaker couldn't have been happier.

Their Whumpee was finally home.
