“ harriet, LOVELY to see you again. brilliant speech, really, couldn’t have even attempted to say what you do better. “ no smile was given, but hand was offered in polite greeting. their relationship was purely POLITICAL , she would never elect spending any personal time with the other woman. “ have you considered my proposition any further than when i spoke to you last ? you have remained noticeably neutral over this; we both want the same thing for the city, darling. “ her eyes met harriet’s, all that was reflected within them was the pretense of friendship. “ for her and her citizens to be safe, if it is the veracity of how ethical we are, harriet, i make no false promises. nobody is harmed unnecessarily, everyone is treated equally under our LAWS . “ she smiled then, stepping merely closer as she dropped the tone. a private conversation in a public place ; she had no QUALMS over that. “ i just know this would benefit the both of us. “ / @oblame

open to: doves. location: dove headquarters.
❝ this is disgusting , the mutants are killing people! ❞ she spit out , infuriated with the news written at the newest paper at hand . ❝ i bet those goddamn mutants will betray one another for power this time around . not a single one of them will last – that’s why we have to find this cure . i’m not here for people ruling over others because of these fucking special abilities . that’s sickening . ❞
“ trust, DEAR , we are all well aware of their evil. we must remain the BASTIONS of humanity against their unnaturalness. “ she nods curtly, fixing nico with an impassive, near harsh look. “ is that not what the scientists are here for, to find that cure ? perhaps THIS will act as more motivation for you lot to get on with it. “ there is no smile, but she tilts her head, making it an endearing suggestion at best. she would not THREATEN her own, she is just tired. the mutants are a pest that should have been driven out long ago; now with xavier gone, it was uncertain times. she of course, would BACK any anti - mutant mayor, they needed to keep jurisdiction for their activities. ABOVE BOARD , that was the difference between them and the mutants, they followed the law ( maybe weaving through a few loopholes every now and then ) . “ we all want the rodents off our streets, nico. the enforcers can forcibly remove the trash, temporarily. i hope soon you can find a permanent solution for it. “

ah, now who is the haunted one ? her own last name makes her cringe. – again, she doesn’t let it show. her heritage is what she has been trying to run from. she is the child of two heroes. not caped and powered ones, no, they were the worst kind of heroes in the spirit’s very personal opinion. they were martyrs who chose to die in the name of their holy virtues. daring to save a city corrupt like crystalline when all they had were their brave hearts. “ never thought street performances could have my name on the lights, and here we are. ” she fixes her confident stance, shifting her weight to her left feet. “ just jude is more than enough. ” eyes aglimmer with a silver haze, her gaze captures the other’s. there is always a glint of hostility in those eyes, sometimes it’s more visible. the villain is trying to make sure it isn’t one of those times.
“ demanding much ? ” stillness kept, judith makes sure her demeanour seem as playful as possible while many thoughts start to whisper inside her brain, and a silent rage brews. what does she want from me ? how in hell she knows my full name ?“ no, actually, i wouldn’t. because i missed my cats. they must be mad at me already, my performance lasted longer than it should. cats, they are a bit clingy. ” after her words veiled, lips curl into a smile. “ but there is no need to break a pretty lady’s heart when i am already late. lead the way if you wish so. ”
renée noted that she did not seem proud of the name she used. just jude, huh ? strange. she would have thought that when your parent’s have such a LOVED LEGACY you would want everyone to know. clearly renée should be slower to judge strangers’ characters. ( she’s just kidding; she knows what to expect of most people. ) in REALITY , she couldn’t see how anyone could have felt loved nor loved them, not when they loved a CITY more than anything else. “ everyone starts somewhere, judith. it’s lit up enough lights for me, “ her smile would turn into something between a SMIRK AND A GRIMACE . she did not intend to appear friendly at this current moment, she had no reason to show her such kindness her friends MAY receive.
“ you know, dear judith, it is SMART to play pretend. you think i do not notice everything ? your eyes showed recognition. you know this is not just a PRETTY LADY taking you out somewhere nice. but; with PARENTS like those, can’t imagine you didn’t work that out yet. “ then, she would link arms with jude; at the very least, the public could believe that this was not an uncivil conversation. “ do you believe a PARENTS’ SINS reflect and thus are carried by their children, judith ? “

jude feels the weight of her violin case as it is hung on her left shoulder. she watches her crowd disappear one by one, they offer her smiles and she gives them a replica of those smiles, tugged at her lips. that’s when she sees the female looking directly at her from a not-so-far distance. uh - oh, having the eyes of a dove on yourself is not a good way to end a day, especially this one’s. – woman’s face rings the danger bells ever so quickly inside the intangible villain’s brain. hatred sharp as a knife pierces her soul but there is no semblance of dislike or discomfort visible over her features. icy blue eyes averted, she looks at some other corner of the street. but when they fall back upon the woman she sees her coming closer. one hand fixes the strap that hangs the violin case on her shoulder while her brows knit together slightly. voice calm and silvery, she parts her lips to speak. “ it looks like you are here for more but the show is over. ” a small smile makes its way to her face after judith finishes her sentence.
CLOSED FOR @cadorgio / RENEE .
renèe enjoyed music. she HERSELF played the piano, and the violin. perhaps that is why she stood to listen, despite who it was being played BY . she’s just come from work of course; and would barely stand out among crystalline’s citizens if her FACE was not so recognizable nowadays. and as she approaches, she cannot help but feel the HATRED pierce her heart during the short walk. this girl’s parents DESTROYED everything she worked for. ( she’d never had anything of her own, and they TORE it away from her. for a few views which were perfectly justified. it was ridiculous. ) now their BLOOD stood only a few metres from one another. “ judith lidell ? “ she asked it like she wasn’t certain.
face remained mostly impassive; unreadable. nobody could really tell what she must have been thinking. “ i assure you i am not here to listen to more of that, perhaps you would like to take a walk with me. “ then, she offers a SMILE , that is more like a cat being pleased with themselves. and her tone indicates that it is not a QUESTION .

felicity jones + female + she / her . ┊ ❛ ━ hey, is it just me or do you hear start a war by valerie broussard playing in the distance ? oh, that’s just renée dubois, a 38 year old damage control working with the sector of humanity. according to my sources, i heard she is neutral evil and intelligent, but also resentful. that’s probably why they remind everyone of bloodstained lips, rain against a window, crushed rose heads so much ! anyway, make sure to keep an eye out, the doves are more powerful with them on their side ! ( eliza, 20, gmt, she/her )
renée’s early childhood was based in france. she lived with her adoptive sister, asteria volkov, who was from germany. her mother and father, micheal and aerona dubois. despite asteria being from another family, she just seemed to fit in so much more. renée was simply the odd duck.
this was only accentuated more when they moved to crystalline, as seemed the fashion now. and aerona was nothing but fashionable - so of course they moved. but anyway, renée unlike her family, was far more academic. excelling in the humanities, maths and sciences. asteria was far more artistic. they could be nothing more than polar opposites. it drove a wedge between her and her mother. renée spoke less and less to them; possibly even just a guest in her own home.
it doesn’t matter anyway, she was independent without them. however, in crystalline the mutant situation was becoming a problem. the city was far more overpopulated with it than anywhere else. any with overpopulated comes other problems; especially crime rates. renée might not even know it, but all the stories about them grew to build a schema against them. we would call her prejudiced, she was call it logical. they were just pests, causing far more problems that they were worth. things were like this in nice, after all.
anyway, life progressed. she graduated her year near the top of the class. and now, she moved onto the university, she studied law. whilst learning charlotte lidell, was her mentor. the one who showed her the ropes. she graduated the course just fine, but it was clear she was biased against certain cases. at this point she was aware of her dislike of the superhumans; thus her behaviour. perhaps it was against the law - but who was ever going to be able to prove that ?
charlotte lidell remained her mentor after graduation, a sort of... establishing period. eventually, she was allowed to practice alone, taking on her own cases. she was reasonably successful, as should be expected for someone with the grades she got throughout her life. however; the subtle anti-mutant persona continued, sometimes obstructing justice to be done. affecting the judgement on certain cases. condemning sometimes innocents, and letting the guilty get away scott free. she would often take cases where she was prosecuting mutants; or defending ‘ victims ‘ of them.
things obviously wouldn’t go unnoticed forever, especially not by charlotte & christopher lidell scathing headlines were thus published by christopher lidell smearing her name. exposing the injustices she had conducted with her “ power “ - she was forced out of practicing. and so she fell, things got worse and worse. she had returned home when she had run out of money, and failed to get another job due to all the reports on her. aerona tolerated her for a couple of years, before eventually she was kicked out, bringing too much disrepute to their name, and as mentioned, aerona liked being popular.
her mild anti-mutant ideology turned worse, now believing they must have been put on earth by some ungodly thing. thus, they could not possibly be human - nor have humanity. that they would will the humans to be wiped out so this could be their world; such thoughts weren’t helped by the syndicate running around the city. and so, her hatred settled so deep into her mind it was all she may think of them.
eventually, of years working a dead end minimum wage job despite her qualifications, the now mayor approached her. offering her the opportunity she couldn’t refuse.
the only quirk i want to note now is her use of scarfs, as pictured, to tie her hair back. she is never seen without one.
