back at it again!

so i got feed the orphans for my first communal rebirth ( THANK FUCKING GOD ) but holy mirror world , batman!!! it was SUPERRRR trippy and hurt my eyes a wee bit — very disorienting which i’m sure that’s the point and i like it very much. i just never done mirror world mode in any games i’ve played so i’ll just need to get used to it.

having to do the basic trial requirements AND make sure you get the three radios + boxes is pretty cool because y’all need to actually help one another (or you can play it solo but i’d rather just do solo rebirth if i wanted to be by myself.)

newspapers is a neato feature, it sorta reminds me of red dead redemption online with the layout of receiving it … like how our characters pop up as a mugshot….

MY FAVORITE DETAIL has to be when retrieving your box of information. it took me a hot second until i had to get mine that i realized “oh, that corpse next to my box is in my outfit!”

are those. dead imposters to taunt us? that our old selves are officially dead and now we’re puppets to murkoff as sleeper agents??? or am i just looking too deep into it??

i dunno!

with the new hotfix out, my opinion HAS changed! very glad to know the twins do have voice lines about their fellow prime assets and i hope we get the others voiced soon! event is working again and nature has healed.

still wish they had given the twins a cool intro for their first trial tho </3

💥 HOT TAKE ON THE NEW OUTLAST TRIALS UPDATE 💥

it’s …. a little disappointing. don’t get me wrong, the new puzzles and shopping mall map is an absolute delight! the twins look amazing! the new mk challenges are fun! i love how the high school looks very similar to the interior of the school in outlast 2!

but i fear it’s lacking in terms of the new prime assets. for one, otto & arora don’t get their own little intro when you enter the trial. in every other big trial, the prime assets make an appearance and have their own little monologue to get us familiar with them ( ex: mother gooseberry greeting us at the fun park with her song and drilling away a face, coyle torturing the snitch, franco curled up on a beheaded big grunt) … they give us a grasp of who they are as a character and why we should be afraid of them. the twins don’t get that luxury and start to roam the map without as much as a voice line.

like seriously, i opened a door trying to bring a fuse to the fuse box and they’re there??? like it scared me but it was very unexpected!

ANOTHER THING about the twins is how silent they are. silent to the point where you can’t even understand what they’re saying and the subtitles don’t catch it. when we finally see them in a mini cutscene above the fountain, they’re saying things but 1) it’s hard to hear and 2) the subtitles again, don’t show.

i also wish they had at least one mk trial but i understand they technically gave them to both coyle and franco … but i wanted to goof around in the mall more.

ONTO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES UHHHH!!! the event isn’t working properly —- the variators won’t show up, you only get one token atm, no rebirth tokens, no quests being accomplished even if you’ve done them right.

BUT IT’S ALL JUST DAY ONE OF THE MAJOR UPDATE SO OBVIOUSLY I KNOW THAT HOTFIXES ARE COMING!!! i just wanted to voice my opinion!

in conclusion: i fear kress twins were hyped up just to be mediocre at best in terms of having swag and substance…. literally they didn’t even give the prime assets reacting to one another but they did it right away with franco’s release…..

I cosplayed Leland so it only feels right to cosplay my girl Gooseberry too! There are a couple of bits that aren’t 100% accurate but this was a bit of a closet cosplay so 🤷‍♀️

Anyway I hope you all like it and I hope I did her justice😭
