Spoilers for persona 3! Nothing story related just a boss fight

Ngl I just finished the fortune fight in reload and I'm honestly kinda disappointed?

Like I do think reload is actively pretty easy but I remember struggling in the fortune fight a good bit in portable.

I think my main gripe is that the actual gambling mechanics in reload just didn't really affect the battle in a meaningful way? Like in portable I actively remembered where to stop it to get beneficial results and I remember fortune being fairly tanky.

While in reload it didn't matter what it landed on because it affected both sides for some reason? And it was too quick to actually plan anything.

Strength in portable felt like a prologue to the actual fight which was fortune. While in reload strength went down and I killed fortune in just too turns (I'm fairly sure I wasn't over leveled? I went into it at level 51 w a underleveled yukari at 40 smth since I couldn't use ken. Normally I just get to the next block and do the doors with no additional grinding since I only go to tartarus one night per every moon cycle)

I'm kinda tempted to turn the difficulty up but at the same time I think that'd just make the fights longer but not mechanically harder? Might do it anyways

The snow queen has been my favorite fairy tale for a while, and I’d love to hear more about it in your magical girl akechi au!!

It should be noted that they did use it in P5S but it was pretty forgettable imo

Tbh I've only ever played/watched playthroughs of the mainline games (p1-p5royal) and none of the side games like strikers. But I'll look into its appearance in P5S! Itll probably help with design and figuring out its skillset (I'm not much of a persona designer. I've always focused more on human designs than creature ones) thanks for telling me!

I still need to re-read the snow queen before getting any more concrete thoughts but I'll probably expand more on it when I work on the design for the outfit and persona!

Rn I really like the idea of the actual persona being the boy. Or having the queen be the persona and akechis outfit based off the boy.

I feel like the story of the girl going to save the boy, who had the mirror shards and had been kidnapped by the ice queen. Could work for a metaphor for Akira's attempts to save akechi?

Beyond akechis and akiras relationship though I'm thinking of it as the hermit arcana because I feel like the boy, sitting alone in the ice queens palace for months with the shards corrupting himself fits akechi really well. And it fits the hermit since the hermit is about being alone and analyzing oneself.

This au very much is going to be a akechi redemption one. And I think he'd get this persona around when he's first starting to actually realize that he isn't happy with betraying the thieves killing shido and then most likely being killed by a associate of shido or killing himself. Which eventually with the help of the hermit confidant turns into a new spirit of rebellion for him (I'm not sure who I want the hermit to be yet. Futaba I'm definitely leaning towards. I don't think he had a social link with wakaba but he definitely knew her due to her working under shido on the metaverse. I also imagine she was one of the very first people he killed.)

do people know about bangs? i feel like a lot of people don't, even if they have duckduckgo as their default search engine, but they're incredibly useful, they're essentially shortcuts to search other sites

if I type "!w segmented turning" into duckduckgo, it searches wikipedia for "segmented turning" and takes me to that page. if I search for something that doesn't exist, I get the results page on wikipedia.

i can use !yt to search youtube, !rgate for researchgate, !unic for unicode symbols, !worldcat for worldcat.org, !osm for openstreetmaps, even ao3. There's thousands of them already (you can see existing bangs here) and if one doesn't exist you can suggest new ones

i can effectively search almost any website without needing to leave my address bar it's so convenient

Wip design for my wildcard akechi au! Him with his pinocchio persona and outfit

Inspo explanations under the cut!

First off his outfit was inspired by a outfit in lies of p (not sure of its exact name but I'm certain its clear if you've played it) the pinocchios personas design was inspired by Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio and lowkey wirt from into the woods?

Not very clear here but I want akechis mask to look like a blue butterfly in reference to the blue fairy, that's also why pinnochio has butterflies pulling his strings. It's not very clear here but akechis mask does extend down to the rest of his face, his smile is entirely painted on.

Also wanted circus vibes because akechi is at heart a performer and pinnochio does join a circus (not sure if that happens in the original tale) his hat top is also vaguely meant to look like a log.

There are strings coming from his hat tying around his wrists and in a bow around his neck along with forming a spiderweb cascading down his back from his neck.

His hairs also up in a bun! He probably does it himself to make himself more distinct here than from his other personas when meeting in this identity with the thieves (until it's all eventually revealed)

His alias for this one is bluejay! Sticking with a bird theme for now

A persona au idea I've been playing with for a while is a wildcard akechi au where he gets a persona for every confidant he has.

Still debating whether he gets them just after forming the confidant or at rank 10 because I want Loki to be his devil confidant and shidos one but to get to rank 10 he'd probably need Loki in the first place. Robin hood is his first persona similar to Arsene or orpheus

Also he absolutely gets a new outfit per persona I want to dress him up (I have deemed this the magical girl akechi au mentally due to that( I also think he'd also have several interactions with the thieves while in different costumes)

Anyways actual persona ideas I have for him.

Pinocchio is a big one, I'm not sure if theres actually a pinocchio persona in any of the games but I figure it fits what personas tend to be based off really well and like. The Themes are so peak. Not sure what confidant I'd actually relate it back to though. The star perhaps?

I think sherlock could also work as one since jokers persona is Arsene lupin (or herlock? I actually havent read the lupin books yet so I know more about normal sherlock) i can also just see akechi not enjoying having sherlock as a persona at all, too stereotypical in his eyes. Probably from saes confidant? (If this were to be a full fledged au I'd probably make ocs for him to have confidants with)

Those are my two main ideas but I also think giving him a persona based off of Christian myth could be neat but I'd have to do more research. And giving him a persona of the greek goddess nemesis is also a idea I like but again I'd have to do more research

Some silly lil extra persona ideas I'm iffy on are doing one based off Jekyll and hyde because the themes just fit him very well (if anyone's actually reading this in the books Jekyll very much is just one person who uses the persona of hyde to let out any dark desires look if Arsene lupin can become a persona so can he)

The snow queen or the boy from the snow queen (basically the snow queen is the force of snow and cold, nature given a face. She fits more as a persona but less for akechi. While the boy is a kind little boy who when two shards of a evil mirror fall into his eye and heart it makes him both see the world as ugly and it freezes his heart. Eventually hes kidnapped by the ice queen and becomes her servant I guess?? Hes basically her pet in the literal sense) this would be his hermit persona I'd imagine.

Not sure what his fool (akira) one would be. I could keep it as hereward just change it to it's own being instead of a fusion? And with a funky new outfit of course

I heard some of you were wondering about Romeo's outfit from this comic. So after a few revisions, I finally finalized it and here you go, my take on his stalker outfit. Extras below:

just so you know, I've always thought Romeo would rock a capelet cuz hell yeah, capelets r so cool.

and then I remembered the existence of Lampwick from Disney Pinocchio and used his design to do a fusion dance with P's Monster Sweeper's Hunting Apparel and the King of Puppets
