How to Write Better Dialogue
Here are your top tips from a ex-drama kid who never struggled with dialogue.
1) Read plays. This will give you a really good sense how when to add pauses and how to reveal plot through dialogue without it sounding forced or clunky.
2) Read the dialogue you’ve writing aloud. You’ve probably seen this before, but it really helps smooth out anything that would be difficult to say or just sound strange. Written English and spoken English are not the same.
3) Reduce how often your characters use each other names. In real like people only use someone’s name if they’re in a group situation, they’re calling them over, or they are annoyed. Use a name in general dialogue sparingly for your MC if your writing is in first person. If you’re writing in third person, we can see all your characters names through action and dialogue tags, you don’t need to repeat them. Once you’ve introduced the name, resist the urge to have every character say their name for emphasis.

Needed to draw something to make myself feel better. So, I drew Vin from my favorite book, Mistborn.

Voy a hablar en presente porque para nosotros los gatos no existe el pasado. O bueno si existe solo que lo ignoramos. En cuanto al futuro nos parece pura y física mierda.
