Mad Max told a story about sexual violence and survivorship without relying on rape scenes to impress upon the audience how *serious* things were.
instead of watching the abuse on screen, we hear about it through the interactions between the wives. they tell us what happened, and in that way they take control of their own narrative.
rather than being voyeurs witnessing the wives’ trauma played out onscreen, we were an audience listening to their story.
and that makes a world of difference.

Amazingly surreal Las Pozas in the rainforest by Xilitla in the Mexico mountains. Created by Edward James in the 40′s, it includes more than 80 acres of natural waterfalls and pools interlaced with towering surrealist sculptures and buildings. The many trails throughout the garden site are composed of steps, ramps, bridges and narrow, winding walkways that traverse the valley walls. It was supposed to be a “Garden of Eden” containing a huge variety of plants and animals.

I’m honestly amazed at how the theme of accepting death and then choosing life crept up on us with respect to Keith and Shiro.
Keith is the obvious example, since he’s spent seven seasons recklessly endangering his own life to the point that the most dramatic moments (the season 1 finale, Naxzela, and The Black Paladins) have a common motif: Keith closing his eyes as he waits for death to come.
But I didn’t understand until the flashbacks in 7x01 that Shiro has spent the entire series driven by the knowledge that his physical ability and possibly his life will be shortened by disease. He builds Voltron and the coalition as his legacy, and does not expect to enjoy the peace he’s fighting for.
Keith doesn’t value his life so he’s painfully willing to sacrifice it in a way that will give it meaning. And Shiro knows the value of the life that he thinks he’s going to miss out on, so he tries to pour as much meaning as he can into the short time he has.
But then Keith finds peace and security by reconciling with his mother, and the next time he is about to die he doesn’t accept it - he opens his eyes back up. And finally faced with the death he’d prepared for, Shiro instead fights to return from it and finds his body cured.
In both cases, they are each other’s motivation to stay.
Happy endings have a reputation for being simple, un-challenging, or shallow. But a story that stares into darkness and chooses optimism is one of the most powerful things there is. With the work this show has already put into these characters, ending Voltron on Keith and Shiro alive, together, and looking into the future would be revolutionary in its message of hard-won hope.

Isaac tells USA TODAY that “Rise of Skywalker” is the most fun for him because it explores Poe’s backstory and history, uses a lot more humor and rekindles his friendship with Finn.
“He’s been a bit of a lone wolf, on purpose: That’s how he always kind of viewed himself,” Isaac says of Poe. “He was the one guy alone in that X-Wing, and now he’s got some co-pilots, he’s got people on his flanks, so it’s a new way that we’re seeing him.”
Rey has also come a long way, from being the girl waiting for her family to come back to get her on Jakku, to being a more confident warrior wielding a lightsaber like nobody’s business. “It’s a really lovely place to be,” Ridley says. “The feeling on the resistance base in general is one of hope. So sort of growing up from being alone to being surrounded by people, what a great way to do that.”
After being apart for the majority of “Last Jedi,” Ridley was excited to revisit the Rey/Finn magic in “Rise of Skywalker.” “The great thing that J.J. shows is you see a proper friendship so it’s not all like hunky-dory,” she says. “They’re friends who clash sometimes. But also you have to be confident to have clashes with your friends and know that everything’s going to be OK.”
Boyega echoes that sentiment. “Finn is undeniably brave in this movie, and that’s because of the collaboration between himself and Rey and Poe. Them being all together was the magic of this movie,” he says. “I really thanked J.J. personally for making that choice to bring everybody back together and go back to what ‘Star Wars’ is, which is an ensemble.”

Dumbledore, notorious for giving second chances Dumbledore, let Sirius rot in Azkaban for twelve years.
He must have known Sirius well due to his time in the Order, he must have known what James meant to Sirius. Dumbledore was a member of the freaking Wizengamot yet he didn’t fight the Ministry’s horrifying trial-optional policy.
This is a man who took back Death Eater!Snape at his word, shielded him from prison, and employed him at a school for children.
But he didn’t have a use for Sirius, so he didn’t care about him.
I got 99 problems with Dumbledore and his treatment of Sirius Black accounts for like 64 of them.
