Geparda, 2024. This is not, as far as I can tell, an April Fool's joke. In Germany it is possible to start driving from the age of 16 but young drivers face limits in the size and power of cars they can use until they turn 18. Step forward German company Geparda who are converting the now discontinued VW Up! by fitting very narrow track rear wheels (it's not a 3-wheeler) and de-tuning the engine to 20hp. The company claims to have already delivered cars, which cost €20,000. Geparda is German for "cheetah"

Citroën CX 2000, 1974. Also designed by Robert Opron, the CX benefited from some of the technological advances made by the SM including DIRAVI variable assist power steering. Originally the CX was to be powered by a Comrotor Wankel engine but by 1974 the shortcomings of the rotary engine (high fuel consumption, poor reliability)had become obvious and Citroën's new large car was launched with the same 4 cylinder engines as the DS it replaced.

Citroën SM Preserial, 1970. Development of "Project S" had begun in 1961 as a grand tourer based on the DS and in 1968 Citroën had bought Maserati to gain access to their high performance engines. The result was the Robert Opron-designed SM first presented at the Geneva Motor Show with its Maserati 90º V6 engine driving the front wheels through a new 5-speed transmission (or 3 speed automatic).

Genesis Neolun Concept, 2024. A design study for a full-size electric SUV. The concept's exterior is characterised by the principle of "reductive design" - the emphasis is on clean, refined lines that deliberately eliminate unnecessary details. Interestingly the press release claims "Development of the B-pillarless coach doors has reached a level where its application to production vehicles is now feasible." Concept cars with "suicide" doors and no B-pillar are quite common but this suggests Genesis intend to offer the feature to customers
