365 Journal Prompts - Day 7
Do you have any famous family members?
Tumblr media
To my knowledge, I don't believe I have any famous relatives. It would be pretty cool to have someone famous in our family.
The only “relative” that comes to mind is my Nan's, cousin's, ex-husband. From what I was told as a child, he used to own a huge portion of land before he sold it to Canada's Wonderland. Now I wish I had some solid facts to prove it, but this is what my parents and other family members have told me. And while the theme park was being built, my grandfather helped out with putting together the big mountain and my father's girlfriend (at the time) had a job there, working as a character from the Flinstones.

365 Journal Prompts - Day 6
Would you describe yourself as spontaneous?
“Spontaneous: performed or occurring as a result of a sudden inner impulse or inclination and without premeditation or external stimulus (Oxford definition).”
I love being around spontaneous people; they can do what they want without any doubt in their mind that something could go wrong. They're down to try new things and explore new possibilities. On that note, I consider myself somewhat spontaneous, it really depends on the situation. I'm much more spontaneous when it comes to hanging out with my friends. They give me this extra boost of energy/motivation whenever I'm around them.
Tumblr media
I don't mean that in a negative way. They influence me to step out of my comfort zone sometimes, and it's good to explore and figure out what I like to do. For example, my friends invited me to a concert next week and I said that I would go just for the experience. I'm really excited to spend the night in the city with my friends and have a good time and make memories with them.

365 Journal Prompts - Day 5
If you could go back in time, would you change anything?
Being able to go back in time would be an awesome power. Imagine having the ability to erase and write new chapters in your life. Flunk a test? You could go back and fix it. Have a messy brawl with a parent/sibling? Travel back and prevent it from happening. A lot of people would use or abuse that power, but I don't think I would.
I'm not trying to say that my life is perfect because it's not; no one's life is picture-perfect. Everybody goes through their own struggles every day, including myself. I'm grateful for all the painful things that happened in my life, otherwise, I wouldn't have all of the good things that I have right now. With the bad comes the good, having that Ying and Yang balance is important.
The storms don't last forever; the rain eventually clears up, the sun comes out, and a new beginning starts. Don't give up on waiting for your storm-clouds to clear because they will soon.

365 Journal Prompts - Day 4
How do your parents describe you as a child?
My mom could sum it up to one word: an angel. I know, you were waiting for “the devil child” or “bratty, snot-filled nose, tiny spawn of Satan”, but not me. I wish I could have some stories of me as a kid doing delinquent things, however being “delinquent” just wasn’t in my blood. I was always happy while growing up and I wanted to share my happiness with everyone around me.
As a kid, I was born with a cleft lip and a cleft palette so I make frequent trips to my orthodontist at SickKids Hospital all the time. At the hospital, they have a huge library, one side for kids and the other for adults. I was a little bookworm so I would always beg my mom to take me to the library after my appointments.
One day, we walked into the library and I noticed a boy, about eight or nine years old, sitting in a wheelchair with his mom next to him. The boy had no hair, had a grey tone to his skin, and had a fluid bag attached to those poles that you have to push around (there’s a specific name for it but I have no idea what it is I’m sorry); it was clear he had cancer. Grabbing that knowledge and feeling empathy for the child, I tugged at my mom’s shirt and asked, “Mommy, can I go read that boy a book?” She smiled down at me and told me to make sure his mother was okay with it first.
I happily skipped my way over and shyly asked the mother, “Excuse me, um, is it okay if I read your son a book?” Keep in mind, I was roughly the same age as the boy, so having a young girl approach her kind of left her in shock. She shook her head out of the daze and said, “yes, I’m sure he would love that.”
I wish I could remember what book I read him, but apparently it was a good one. His smile could light up a room, and his laugh was contagious. The entire time I was reading, I made hand gestures and changed my tone of voice whenever something happy or sad came about in the story. He loved every minute of it, and so did I; when I saw him smile, it made me smile. He gave me a round of applause at the end and I bowed.
The moms stepped back and watched the whole thing unfold. The boy’s mom whispered to my mom, “your daughter is the angel that we needed so desperately, thank you.”
To this day, I still wonder if, and hope, that the boy made it out of the hospital. I hope he’s grown up and has his own set of goals that he’s reaching for right now, regardless if he remembers me or not. I wish him happiness.

The motivation that I need.
Sometimes life doesn’t go our way. Like your laptop breaking on day two of nano. Or getting halfway through November and being completely overtaken by a new WIP idea that won’t leave you alone. But that’s okay. There’s always next week, or next month, or even nano next year. Just don’t be so afraid of failing that you forget to try

365 Journal Prompts - Day 3
The best date you’ve ever been on.
I’ve been on plenty of dates, and I don’t mean to say that to “toot my own horn”. Some were great, some were terrible. Despite all of the goods and bads, the best date that I’ve ever been on was when my current boyfriend took me out on our first date.
We met on a dating app called Badoo/Hot or Not. He messaged me a cheesy pickup line and that’s how it all started. We instantly felt a spark when we started talking to each other. He and I have lots of things in common and I feel as if I can be myself around him. So it was an obvious yes when he asked to take me out on a date.
It was a September evening, the sky was clear with only a few clouds. He wanted to show me where he lived so we drove out about 45 mins into the country and he showed me his 1800-year-old house. There were many rooms inside and they all had very old furniture, but I thought it made the house look pleasant. My favourite room was the attic. The floorboards were creeky like a typical attic and he showed me how he would sneak onto the roof to watch the stars at night. He told me he would show me someday when I get over my fear of heights.
His mom made us dinner; homemade burgers with some salad and juice. Meeting his mom on our first date was a little scary, but she was really nice (and her burgers were to die for).  After dinner, we drove to a little ice cream shop that had the theme of old, retro cars. I got chocolate ice cream and he got the tiger stripes. Like a true gentleman, he paid for both of our ice creams, even after I offered to pay plenty of times.
Tumblr media
Next, he drove us to a viewpoint with beautiful waterfalls. I snagged a couple of pictures before he was leading me to a cliff. Sadly we didn’t get all the way there because nightfall was approaching fast and the mosquitos really enjoy me as their dinner. We stopped along the way to view the sunset and we took a picture together, then we headed back towards his car. I enjoyed our hike; we got to talk more about what we both like and what we both want for our futures. We were affectionate with each other the whole time; our hands were intertwined and we snuck in a few smooches here and there.
Tumblr media
As I’ve said before, I’ve been on plenty of dates, but none of those dudes put in the effort like my boyfriend did. I’m thankful every day that we’ve crossed paths because he has shown me what I truly deserve in a man. He loves me unconditionally, even on my bad days, and that’s what every girl deserves.

365 Journal Prompt - Day 2
What is your favourite room in your home?
I was very tempted to say my bedroom because that’s where I spend the majority of my time, but I’m going to have to say my balcony. I love looking at the sunrises and sunsets and how the colours all clash together to create a beautiful masterpiece. It’s very peaceful at night, looking at the city lights and watching people drive to their homes to live their own lives.
Tumblr media
I don’t even know if it’s considered a room, but that’s where I spend most of my time if I’m not in my bedroom. That balcony has so many memories with me and my friends. Some are unhappy, but most are amusing where we’re all telling stories, laughing until our stomachs hurt and we couldn’t stop.

365 Journal Prompts - Day 1
The best meal you’ve ever cooked.
My best friend and I share a recipe together and we make it whenever we’re both not broke and when we’re together; spaghetti!
Tumblr media
Not only is it easy to make, but we can add whichever ingredients we want to enhance the tasteful experience. My best friend, Chantal, likes to put cream cheese in the sauce to make it like a blush/rose sauce. It is delicious! She also likes to cut up fresh onions, garlic cloves, and yellow bell peppers (to give it a bit of sweetness). I like to cover my noodles in butter to make give the spaghetti an extra kick in flavour and it tastes well with the blush sauce.
Chantal and I have had some marvellous memories while making spaghetti. The first few times we made it was when she was living in a basement apartment with her dad + stepmom. While they were away for their vacations, she would invite me over for sleepovers. We’d go splits on the ingredients, split a bottle of wine, and start cooking. Music would be blaring in the background as we sang while making the spaghetti. Then we’d sit down and enjoy it together; it always turns out the best when we cook it together ❤😍
