Meanwhile, Rufus waited patiently in his library. Shocked but unfazed by how the Fairy Tail mages dealt with his attack, perhaps he should give them more credit, to not try the same magic spell on them twice.

"Greetings, are you here to avenge your comrade?" he spoke once Max arrived, talking about the first game with Kyle. Rufus was as arrogant as ever, Fairy Tail was just lucky so far, and he will show them the limits of such luck, by making an example out of Max first.

After Laxus blocked the attack, Max and Monica started to move. Monica herself simply ran in the direction Mavis pointed her to, but Max summoned one of his weapons, a wrench with a piece of metal that extended out from just under and then curved around the head. This piece of metal had thick but short drill bits that spiked out and ran along it’s length. Max slid the handle of the wrench into a slot on the heel of his boot. The drill bits spun along the edge as a motor activated giving a similar action to that of a chainsaw, but to max acted as a single wheel he rode to his destination. All along the way Max thought out loud about how he would defeat Rufus. “Rufus won’t fall for the same attack twice. Whatever hit I do needs to one shot. He’s smart, but I think I could take him in hand to hand, but again he’s smart. He’d know that and wouldn’t just let me in range to punch him. I could shoot my guns at him, but… with his magic he could basically just make anything he wanted to block anything I threw his way at range. Come on, think Max, think.”

"What?" Loke was shocked, he could have guessed as much, but hearing it from Luca made it hurt all the more. "I'm sorry you had to go through that."

Guess it was safest that he stayed in the past here, though he was stuck in the Celestial Spirit World for now. Loke thought for a moment on what they could do to pass the time, until Luca brought up reading.

"That's a good idea, we have a library that includes our history," he explained, extending his hand out. "Come with me, I can show you!"

Soon, he led Luca to a large bookshelf, that seemed to hold infinite books like how infinite the Celestial Spirit world seemed to be. He could do all the reading he wished until he healed enough to go back to Earthland.

Luca nodded, already knowing this from his mother.

“We both watched her die. The Eclipse Gate wasn’t nice to either myself or her…” he began, pausing a bit to gather his thoughts, “Future Rogue had her killed. I didn’t know until then but I also wanted to avoid the current one after that.”

Luca sighed and leaned against the wall, letting his thoughts wander to something more comfortable as he began to hum something quietly to calm down.

He just wanted to go home to Lucy’s apartment but he was stuck there until he healed

“What would you do for fun here? I just need to do something. Reading or something would probably be ideal. I can’t write anything but I can read.”

They were supposed to be out on a job. Things were supposed to be simple. She had to focus on getting things done accordingly! So then why couldn't she focus? Was Lyon doing this on purpose? To mess with her? Juvia was practically gawking at Lyon now, after all... But she shouldn't be... Nope. The water mage had self control. She did! It was just hard right now because he was shirtless, and she really, really liked him... and looking away didn't seem like the preferable option.

But the flustered woman found enough will to look to the side after a minute or two.

"Damn him for being so distracting..." She murmured softly to herself, hoping he didn't catch on to the effect he had on her.

"You alright, Juvia?" Lyon asked the water mage. They were heading to an inn they would be staying at after meeting their client for the job, and so he subconsciously took his shirt off and wrapped it around his waist, Juvia wasn't the only person gawking at him.

Even since meeting Juvia while he was looking for Gray, Lyon made the extra effort to spend more time with her. Visiting Fairy Tail more often would have been too forward, but teaming up on a job? That was fool proof, and who knows, they might even find out they work well together.

"Did you say something?" he added. Lyon could have sworn she said something, but maybe he was hoping she would be saying something about him, maybe even a compliment.

Oh no!

It was bad enough that she'd lost that bet to someone she'd once considered a love rival... but to stumble upon the current object of her affection whilst trying to find a place to hide away from shame was enough to fluster the rain woman!

What was Lyon going to think? She didn't want him to think she was crazy! Or that she was reverting back to her crazy ways to win over affection. She was better than this!

"A-Aaahhhh!!! J-Juvia's sorry!!!" She stammered, trying to cover herself as much as possible, though obviously not doing the best job, all things considered. "I-It's not what you think... Juvia just lost a bet?" She offered as an explanation.

"Juvia!" Lyon stammered in shock as he bumped into Juvia, who was completely naked. At first, he thought maybe she was a nudist, but a proper one wouldn't be that embarrassed over it.

"Here," he offered his cloak so Juvia could cover herself better, looking away from her to give her some privacy.

"If you don't mind me asking, what was the bet, and to whom did you lose it to?" Lyon was already planning on how to help Juvia, including getting revenge for what happened to her.

Lyon was asking the Fairy Tail guild members in general, and was surprised to find a woman answer him, and she was beautiful, it was almost love at first sight. He barely kept his composure as he answered her, especially since she addressed Gray a certain way.

"I see, so he's with that hothead and the others," he replied, then introduced himself. "I am Lyon Vastia, and I wouldn't exactly say that Gray and I are friends, but we did study under the same teacher."

Curious about Juvia's familiarity, he asked her in return. "Are you a friend of Gray's then?" She seemed to know Gray's team decent enough it seemed, and in a way he did owe them, though he would never admit it outright, especially in front of Gray.

Juvia turned her attention to the voice. She'd never seen him before, but he seemed to be familiar with Gray, and that alone was enough to catch her interest. "No. Gray-sama's actually out on a job right now. He left a couple of hours ago along with Natsu and friends." The water mage responded promptly. "Are you one of Gray-sama's friends?" She asked, rather curious about his relationship to Gray. Considering she'd only been around there for a short time, she didn't know many people.

It was soon time for the mages to start, and Rufus was perplexed at Fairy Tail not moving like the rest at the signal, as if they were waiting for the others to get into position, as suggested by the First Master's strategy.

"Time for us to have some fun, gihi. Let's go, Juvia!" Gajeel announced, rushing forward with the water mage. Without Gray around, Mavis had altered her tactics to have Gajeel and Juvia close together so they could team up when needed, due to their time together in Phantom Lord.

"Memory Make: A Night of Falling Stars."

Rufus made his move once the Fairy Tail team started moving, targeting the members with his homing lightning magic.

"As much as I'd like to take you down, we're leaving that to someone else," Laxus commented as he blocked the attack easily, leaving it to Max to deal with Rufus as planned.

Max and Monica walked out just following him. Monica held her hands out and upward in a stretch to show to the crowd how ready for the fight to come she was. Max walked more straightforwardly and seemingly confidently, but in his head, he racked his head to think of a plan to beat Rufus. His mind was so hellbent on this that he could barely hear the roar of the crowd’s chear.
