Hello Cero. I recently found Staysold on Spotify, in a Nikto playlist and I can agree that it is music he would listen to, since it's just noise. (No idea if you're familiar.) And you once mentioned your hc on what Nikto be listening to.

What about Krueger tho? What kind of music does he like?

Oh I'm glad you asked for krueger BECAUUUSE in my insanely specific headcanon of him having been a freeparty guy, he's particularly into acid techno/frenchcore and the likes. we're talking big TB-303 basslines and 6+ minutes track you listen to out of a massive sound system in the woods. Like this, or this. This whole set. Or speed/hardcore such as this. Or more recent techno like this.

HMM yes I could think of some :3c Though I'll limit "Shadow Company" to MW19 SC, plus Graves because to me the rest's like. not canon. at least in the ceroverse (to me Mace is with the Jackals, not SC)

Roze: okay so Vel and Roze just work well together. she was very intimidating to him when he joined Shadow Company because she's so confident and unfazed and never really lets anyone see what she thinks. Fact is, she never made Velikan feel odd but she for sure makes him feel special. He trusts her a lot and knows that she also trusts him 😌 they're able to communicate without exchanging a word also.

Lerch: he's actually the one who pitched Velikan to Graves for SC. Being SC's senior officer he's the one who sort of monitors (potential) new additions. It took time (and a lot of mediation from Roze) for him to understand how Velikan worked & liked to work. They clashed at first but now Velikan has enough free rein and structure to feel comfortable with Lerch around, especially since him, Lerch and Roze are very often on ops together, they have good chemistry.

Graves: Graves is very boots-on-the-ground as a leader. So Velikan likes that he's not putting himself above everyone else, he's not an abstract leader figure. However Vel doesn't really like the plotting & scheming and shit because he just can't wrap his head around doing all of these complicated things just to put up a diplomat front (why not just break shit immediately??!). Also Graves calls him "big boy" and gives him hearty taps on the shoulders. Vel likes that.

hes actually rly interesting. i dont have any like concrete hcs abt his childhood i just know it was rough and im sure he went thru multiple foster homes. his bio also says his dad is just unknown which im sure bothers him. i could see him waffling around between not caring who it is and actually caring who it is but also very seriously and defensively pretending like he doesnt care who it is. i doubt he has any pics of his mom at all.

its rly interesting bc he seems like a guy whod have a lot of resentment to his country and im sure he does. but the military is structure and a job he likes bc he can be as brash as he is without too many people bothering him about it. they give it right back. i HAVE to imagine his line "for queen and country" he says during takedowns is like snidely said. hes rly cute i like him i like how bitter he is

im also really sure price would like him a lot too he likes bitchy boys. it makes sense theyve worked toegether a lot. having otter and gaz on a squad together would probably be soo fun to him watching them snark back and forth. also since price has worked with him before he did gaz... tasty

Deft hands. He likes crafting things, repairing them, carving stuff in wood, etc. He's actually quite a skilled artist, but refuses to acknowledge it (to Timur's greatest dismay)

Rarely ever listens to music, and is very picky about it. But ask him 'what would you like to listen?' and he's unable to answer (he would rather just listen to birds and the wind in the trees. Thank you)

Hi there! I stumbled upon your blog because of Valiants an now I'm hooked on this pairing! In your recent asks, you said that you weren't comfortable with MCD, so I don't know if my question would bother you at all but I'm gonna ask and feel free to ingore if it makes you uncomfy.

But anyways, I was wondering how Nikto might react if Krueger was grievously injured in the field? Would Nikto drop everything and carve a path to him? Or would he prioritize the mission and leave Krueger to potentially bleed out? With Krueger being Nikto's "person" how would Nikto react should he nearly lose Krueger.

Nikto is cold-blooded for the most part, his mw19 bio quotes "methodical, calculated" and I really do think he is, even if he can display "acute" symptoms and/or violent outbursts. In the case of a teammate he cares about getting injured, especially Krueger (or rodion.), he will still be 'professional' about it and not go completely apeshit off the bat because he is a very controlled man. But picture it if as if he had two locks on him. A situation like this would make the first lock break and the second crack like. badly. that's the only mental image I can come up with. He'd be 🤏 this close to snapping

I have a question considering Nikto's past. His bio stats, he wears the mask to hide his deformed face. Why would he hide it if he doesn't care about it? Or does he care about it? Do you have any hc about the time between Mr Z. and Coalition? Like, how did he handle his deformation in the beginning AND the diagnosis of his mental illness?

Hello 👋 Well, for a fact I think Nikto cares about it. A lot. If you ask pretty much anyone who sustained serious face injuries, I think you'll hear the same thing: having your face altered/"losing" your face feels like you're losing your identity. For Nikto, on top of that, it's the aftermath (and reminder) of his torture and therefore the starting point of a lot of PTSD-induced troubles and outbursts or worsening of issues he already had. My own Nikto headcanon specifically (amidst other things) sustained semi-extensive chemical burns so first of all the recovery took very long. He saw his face without bandages after several months. And given that it is the stigmata of his torture, I do think he finds sort of a morbid satisfaction/complacency in - literally - not having the same face, ie. not the same identity, as the man he was before; that he considers to be an entire other person estranged from who he is now.

The mask wearing is both to protect him (after all it's a ballistic mask in the first place) but also because it's comforting to him. He abhors people looking at him and seeing the wonder, or worse, the pity in their eyes. He cares less about it when he's with his team/people he knows, but his "relationship" to his own face is... Complicated and fluctuant.

Would nikto and krueger be a lil behind in their physical hygiene? I feel like nikto would probably neglect his, while krueger just doesn't gaf about his own stink, takes a shower every month or so, but I definitely feel like nikto hasn't taken a shower, or even brushed his teeth in wayyy more then a month, everyone knows it too, it's his signature scent atp

hmm.. I have slightly different takes... For Nikto I imagine him to function in extremes (like any other aspect in his life). He either skips the shower or scrubs himself clean until his skin is red from irritation. I'd say at the minimum once per week. He does stink because he smokes two packs a day and does laundry only if bullied hard enough, though. Krueger sweats like a hog (his fuckin in-game model man.). He doesn't really like feeling sticky for more than two consecutive days so if he has access to showers he will shower regularly.

Do you ship Bale with anyone? I do think him and Nikto are cute, but Bale deserves someone better to me. I'm just wishing the best for Bale, honestly 🙏. (But also, I do think he's picky on who he dates, plus he's shy :))

Not specifically. He definitely deserves better than Nikto 😭 But like he's been through so much I think he'd be content with a "teammates with benefits" situation I imagine him to have occasionnally with Nikto or Rodion (or, not and). and like @modernghostfare once said but I can't find the post, "Bale deserves to get topped by this tall twink" (rodion) (rodion's not a twink but the other 3 in his squads are all absolute beefcakes so he looks like one.)

Cero, what do you draw on? Im trying to get into digital art and don’t know what to start on.

I use a Wacom tablet, and the softwares I use are Clip Studio Paint and Photoshop (only for the finishing touches).

If you're looking to get started, I would recommend trying to get a secondhand wacom tablet, or get an off-brand (I started on a 30€ off-brand tablet which still worked when I upgraded). As for the software, free and/or intuitive softwares I can recommend are Easy Paint Tool SAI (used this one for VERY long - extremely easy to find) and FireAlpaca. I've heard good things about Krita too.
