For me I imagine it goes something  more like this. Thor is sitting himself down resigning to take on the responsibility of the throne when all of the sudden a voice rings out.

“Who decided to make you king”?

“Well I certainly didn’t vote for him” chimed another.

“He’s been off soul searching for the better part of the last several years while things have been falling apart and NOW he wants to take up the throne”?

“Last time you had a coronation you celebrated by taking a handful of your drinking buddies on a day trip to commit mass genocide”.

Amoungst all the riff and rabble Thor declares that he is the son of Odin the rightful king that he is ready to take up the responsibility that he is worthy of blah blah. He is both nobly and humbly and they need order and to stay together ect.

“Strange hammers lying around in deserts distributing themselves is no basis for a system of governance”!

Cries of agreement echo through the ship.

A peasant takes the stage right next to Thor “What we need is a system of governance that is agreed upon by a majority of the people to be upheld by and for the people! An autonomous collective-- At this point Thor tries to get him away from himself and off the stage.

“COME SEE THE VIOLENCE INHERENT IN THE SYSTEM”! LOOK HE’S REPRESSING ME! HELP HELP I’M BEING REPRESSED!  Thor lets him go and is leaves aghast. They end up electing Loki and Heimdal as co electorate for a period of time no greater than three years. And yes Loki sat in the meeting room with them debating with them as they developed their new system of governance.

Post-Ragnarok Thoughts (Includes Spoilers): 

Thor, post-Ragnarok, doesnt really know what to do with himself. he’s lost. so he pushes some buttons and manages to space-skype-call steve rogers. thor relates to steve what went down, and basically goes. im king even though i didnt really wanna be, not really sure what to do please help. 

and steve goes hey have you ever heard of democracy

 so thor, having found a way to maybe not have to be king of asgard or at least be king with a lot more explicit support, delightedly calls a shipwide meeting. he explains the concept of voting (maybe not like. super clearly) and issues ballots. the vote goes like this:

Everybody who’s not really sure what’s going on with this voting thing just votes for thor. that seems like a safe call. some of the really confused ones just write in their own names. a fair number of other asgardians, who actually understand what’s happening, vote thor on purpose, but a lot of it is confusion.

Loki votes for himself. he doesn’t really want to be in charge of this mess but honestly he can’t help himself. Several of the escaped gladiators also vote loki, mostly because they didn’t really follow the whole loki-thor dynamic and loki summoned a giant flaming magma man to kill a planet, which was pretty cool. that guy seems to have a handle on stuff.

the Valkyrie votes “Thor, lord of sparkles.”

Every child votes hulk. they were all issued ballots because nobody realized they maybe shouldn’t be. dr banner votes Hiemdall. 

literally every person who has a good grasp on the situation votes heimdall. thor votes hiemdall.

hiemdall loses to thor by one vote. it was heimdall’s. he voted for thor.

Admin Post - Directory

Hello to all our lovely followers!

On the last couple of days we’ve had a few messages from people warning us that the mobile directory links were broken and they were getting “redirect fail” messages. After taking a look at it, it turns out that the links to the Google Docs pages had stopped working (no idea why).

We’re re-uploaded all the links, so the ones on this post should work.  Please excuse us for the inconvenience, neither of the Admins is very computer savvy and we were a bit lost at first.

Another problem we’ve been encountering is that, once you get to the Google Docs page you want, some of the links with a “read more” lead to deleted blogs. Unfortunately there’s not much we can do if one of our authors deletes their blog, in that case all the links to their stories will be broken.

We’re going to delete the old Mobile Directory post, so please use the links on this one instead. We’re also going to reblog this post a couple of times so everybody can get the news.
