hi again! a few days ago i made a post saying i was collecting donations to buy a new laptop to be able to attend online classes.

things have evolved and i found out tonight that my father has been fired from his job. this puts me in a difficult position. i’m afraid i’m gonna have to quit university and i’m not even sure my sister will be able to afford getting an education.

we can’t afford to pay bills anymore and paying for groceries is going to be hard. we have 10€ to live this week and i’m really worried. please, if you see this post just reblog it, cause it can really save me and my family until my father finds a new job. i’m really scared and i really do not know what else to do. every tiny cent counts.

So I’ll take matters into my own hands and choose one of my prompts

I’ll be your armor

Hailey reflecting on overcoming the hurdle of her abusive father, and Jay is there to listen and be her comfort. (⚠️Warning mentions of abuse and violence, some language⚠️)

Hailey Upton wasn’t always as strong as she presents herself. She was always the quiet and shy kid. Her father beat her, her siblings and her mom growing up. She was pretty good in school beside the fact that her ribs ached when she sat in class all day. Teachers would see her limp, and she would just make an excuse like. “Oh, I fell down riding a bike.” She didn’t think the teachers would believe her the first time but they did, and it would get easier for her each time, eventually everyone stopped asking about it. The first time she had ever wanted to maybe talk to her parents was today, and that brings us to this story.

It was only 2:00 in the morning and Hailey was wrapped in Jay’s arms. Her eyes opened immediately from a nightmare that her father kidnapped her.

Looking beside her she saw Jay deep in his sleep and she felt his arms hug her tighter around her small body. She smiled because he probably did this self consciously.

She felt him stir and saw him yawn. “Babe ,are you okay.” He asked her running his hand through her hair.

“Yeah I just had a uh..nightmare.” “Sorry I didn’t mean to wake you.” She sighed. “Hails don’t apologize..what was it about.” He said putting his arm to his head so he was leaning above her. “It’s okay..we can go back to sleep.” She said turning on her side embarrassed.

“I could possibly help.” He shrugged. “It’s okay honestly it was just a nightmare.” She said sitting up. “I am going to go get a glass of water.” She said.

Jay noticed the tension in her voice and it made him get up and follow her to the kitchen. “Hey. What’s going on.” He asked her softly touching her shoulder.

“it’s just that I haven’t had a nightmare about my father in a long time.” She said leaning against the counter taking a sip of her water.

“Oh,so that’s what it was about.” He said standing right next to her. She nodded and looked up at him. “You know it’s been really hard not telling you what really happened at the hospital,the day I went after you told me to it else I regret it..the truth is I do regret it.” She said Clearing her throat.

“What are you talking about Hails.” He said with worry in his voice. “I regret not walking in his room..I regret not letting him see me...but I don’t know why.” She said her voice choppy because she was on the verge of tears.

“So you didn’t see him..Hailey that’s okay..you didn’t have to, I guess I was just trying to push you do something because I didn’t get to.” Jay said putting his arm around her.

She stiffened but relaxed as he rubbed his thumb against her arm. “I honestly could not look him in the eyes after all these years.

“Those same eyes looked in a five year old version of me when he was beating me. The same fucking eyes that told me he didn’t mean to hurt my mom..she began to cry as tears rolled down her face, and the same eyes that lied to me saying he was done drinking when I was 15 years old.”

She slid down on the floor. “that same person who was laying in that hospital bed ,beat me till I bled, multiple emergency room trips that he caused, my little brother was in a cast for almost a year, because my dad shattered his bone in seven different spots, all because he didn’t hand him another beer.”

She chuckled dryly at this. “All because of a fucking beer, my little brother was only 12.” She said looking at Jay. “A twelve year old had to deal with all of that and an older sister who was too afraid to stand up to him.

“My older brother Jackson was the one that handled it when my dad broke Michaels arm.” “He stepped up and practically raised us when our mom was in the hospital for three weeks, after my dad practically threw her down the stairs.”

Hailey stopped and got up from her spot setting her glass down on the table, before picking it up again and drinking another sip before throwing it in the sink causing it to shatter everywhere. “Damn it.” She said starting to collect the pieces.

“Hailey, come here.” Jay said as he stood up from his spot. He could see that she was in emotional distress. He gathered the blonde in his arms holding her as she cried shaking uncontrollably. Hailey Upton had finally reached a tipping point in her life.

He kissed the top of her head before rocking her back and forth helping her calm down. “It’s not your fault, you were so young, you couldn’t have faced your father, he was so much older than you.” He whispered in her ear.

“I was supposed to protect Michael ” She said pulling away from Jay, wiping a few tears from her face. “I need to visit my parents, at least actually visit my dad.” She said softly. “Hailey..you don’t..” Jay started but Hailey interrupted him. “No that’s the only way.” She said to him.

“Hailey it’s important that you know that It is not your fault.” He said softly cupping her cheek. “and if you really want to visit him, then I will go with you, I will stand by your side.”

She managed a weak smile as tears rolled down her face. He pulled her into his chest again and just stayed and held his fragile girlfriend for a while. “Do you want to try and sleep again.” He said as he gently lifted her head up. “Mmhmm.” She said.

“Alright.” He said as he grabbed her hand and led her to the bed. “Jay.” She said.

“Yeah.” He said stopping to turn around.

“Thank you”. She smiled. “Of course.” I’m here for you Hailey, and I always will be.”
