From whom did I get my autism? From my mom who removes all the tags in her (and our) clothes because 'they are annoying,' or from my dad who cuts the cuffs of his socks because they 'put too much pressure' on his legs? Guess I'll never know.

A YouTube video just got a memory of mine unlocked: me being called a person with 'too high standards' when I said I wasn't interested in people they were trying to matchmake me with. I just realized that was THEIR problem thinking I MUST BE SO LONELY to agree to date any person who fancied me when I didn't vibe with them OR WORSE was put off by them. That was THEIR problem. And I've lived half a lifetime, thinking that it's ME having standards too high, being too stuck up to be attractive. It's THEM thinking that I'm stuck up. I am AUTISTIC. I now know HOW people view me. F9ck that. I trust my gut instincts. I have other problems to care about.

$50,000 immediately dropped into my bank account wouldn't improve EVERYTHING but boy it sure would be a grand, sexy little start to a good, happy life path, don't you think

I conquered my flight response to the actress who plays Emma in this adaptation and finally watched that 2009 'Emma' adaptation with bebe Jonny Lee Miller. Love him, what a cute dork of a man! For a person who thinks that 'Emma' is kinda meh among other Jane Austen's works, I surely did watch quite a lot of the book's adaptations (this is the 4th).
Great cast, great adaptation. I especially appreciated how cringe their little journey to Box-Hill was. I felt everyone's emotions all at once. Jane and Mr Churchill's story here was a bit more translucent, but it was a feature not a bug. Well done!
I really want to watch the 2009 'Emma' because I immensely love Jonny Lee Miller after 'Elementary' but for some reason I get so triggered by the actress playing Emma within the first 10 minutes of the series that I can't watch it. I don't know what it is, because my brain doesn't explain. I will try it for the 3rd time soon.

I can't be trusted with time travel because all I would want to do would be go back to hang out with Jane Austen and show her all the adaptations of her novels to find out which one she likes the best

"Mirkwood would judge Legolas so hard for Gimli-" Wrong. Gimly has consistently charmed the pants off every single elf he's come across. The elves of Lothlorien went from wanting to kick him out to loving him in like 2 days. He's Galadriel's special little guy. My man is out there singlehandedly tearing down centuries of prejudice because he's just so damn charming. When he was nearing the end, he didn't even go to Durin's halls - he just went with Legolas to the undying lands so he could hang out with elves for the rest of time. Gimli would have Thranduil and the rest of the elves of Mirkwood wrapped around his dwarven finger in a week's time. Ideal son in law except for the beard.

I finished reading 'Northanger Abbey,' it was a blast. I keep thinking how important to the plot was the fact that Mrs Allen made Catherine buy the most fashionable dresses on their first day in Bath! (See, her love for pretty clothes wasn't there for nothing!)

I also think that Catherine Morland and Fanny Price would be best friends.
Henry Tilney and Fanny Price would be best friends. I don鈥檛 take constructive criticism

Reading 'Northanger Abbey' and Catherine's funny musing about General Tilney's probable crimes made me realize that 'Jane Eyre' is a gothic novel:
An orphaned girl with unhappy childhood and evil adults all around - check;
The only friend of the main heroine tragically dies - check;
The heroine meets a beast of a man - check;
The man is concealing a crazy wife from an exotic country in the attic - check;
Big fire where someone dies - check;
The heroine staying with that crippled beast of a man in the end - check.
Someone may think that it is all very obvious but I've never studied literature and all my knowledge comes from me having watched the literature youtube for the last 2 or 3 years. I've always loved reading but I didn't know what a gothic novel was or that it was so fun to notice all this. And how fun it is to think what decisions I would've made had I been a movie director or an artist.
