Fujiwara-Shi History (Part 1)

It begins when Emperor Gentoku’s two sons, Kuroda and Mahito was born as twins. A rare occurrence in the Hinganshi line. 

It was further complicated by the fact that Kuroda retains his mother’s Raen lineage, the Noble Mikoto clan whose first patriarch Mikoto no Seigen was said to be the seventh son of Shiro-No-Kami known to Xaela as Azim. 

Prince Kuroda was a famous advocate of the movement to reclaim the lands of Raen lost to the Xaela centuries ago. Proud of his lineage and seeking to rebuild the Raen’s lost glory.

Alas, his dream remains unfulfilled. When crown prince Mahito ascends the throne of Hinganshi as Emperor Tenji, he did a very rare thing. He tried to increase his brother’s power because he believes that only when the two of them work together that the encroaching clans of Hinganshi can be controlled.

Five generations later, after the war of the eastern emperor and western empress, to avoid such tragedy to happen and under the reasoning of avoiding further dispute, descendant of Prince Kuroda, Ame Hondakaraikashi Hitarashi no Hitsugi also known as Prince Takara, was ordered to start his own imperial house branch which will later be known as Fujiwara-Shi

The first patriarch of the Fujiwara, Fujiwara no Takara no Kami, was concerned that many people might want to eliminate him as his faction was quite influential in the court.

Thus, he led his family to the western chain islands of Ryuukyu. Takara, whose origin is half Raen, took a princess from the Violet Tide palace as his Okugata. His many retainers and family members would then settle in the chain of Ryuukyu, The main seat is the island of Ryuusen, with the other inhabited islands of Sosui, Suiryuu, Kaze, and Honshu.

As a dowry, Shizuka-Hime brought with her the purple pearl of the violet tide. 

When it was enshrined on the ancestral Jinja upon Ryuusen, the power of the pearl manifested in the perpetual fog that surrounds the islands from invaders. Only select few can travel into their docks because it is riddled with treacherous reef and there’s a deep trench called “the dragon’s ridge”. Traveler can only get into the docks guided by strings of light-tower known as “the dragon’s eyes”. 

For centuries, the Fujiwara maintain a cordial relationship with the mainland. They are entrusted as the defender of the western island chains of Hinganshi and would repel foreign invasions along with cleansing of the pirates. 

Under their watch, the nation’s western border is kept safe. Throughout political marriages and maintaining a strong naval presence, they manage to secure a foothold even if they are not too involved in the matter of the Hingan court.

The 13th Daimyo of the Fujiwara, Fujiwara no Hideyoshi, was engaged with the daughter of Southern Awajima Takeda clan, Takeda no Tomoe. From this union, six children were born. Hidemitsu, Masayuki, Miyuki, Hideyuki, Mitsuki, and Shizuka. 

Hidemitsu and Masayuki are very close to each other, while Hideyuki is viewed with complicated look due to the circumstance of his birth.

Four years ago, after returning from a pirate hunting expedition, Hidemitsu and Masayuki’s ship was hit by a very powerful storm. Both are missing and presumed dead, an urgent missive comes to Eorzea, to summon the only surviving son of Hideyoshi. 

Upon his arrival in Ryuukyu, Hideyuki was named the 14th Daimyo as his father decides to abdicate. The Mitsurugi Bakufu feels that Hideyoshi is too young to abdicate yet they let him do it nevertheless.

Thus begin the reign of the 14th Daimyo of The Fujiwara….(To Be Continued)

Entire right side of face (and body in general) is covered in heavy scarring. Wears a lot of cosmetics to try and tone down the discoloration due to this.

Missing right eye. Has a glass eye, but generally isn’t visible past their hair, which they keep as much over their right side as possible.
