Honestly, no real shade, but I find it absolutely astounding that some of y'all still continue to read/pay for choices - especially considering that they let go all of their OG staff, are now clearly leaning into AI art, the new MCs that they got have short arms, and aren't even bothering to fix simple coding mistakes in their games💀

It definitely feels like they're damn near close to going under. It feels like a dying project. It doesn't matter that they got future books planned, I'm sure Storyloom did too 🫢

I still can't fkn believe how some supervisor @ PB looked at the new MC designs and genuinely thought "those look so awesome, such a huge improvement over the old ones" and actually green-lighted the changes 🤯

Yep, as I feared, Choices has gone from just doing VIP exclusive stories that are extensions of preexisting ones to doing full-on original content that's 100% paywalled

@playchoices please take this lame excuse of a book out of the LGBTQ+ category. It makes no sense to be here when the LGBTQ+ portion of the book is severely lacking, and only present near the end. That’s post 80+ chapters btw.

Absolutely appalled that choices uses AI for cover art but also, why does their writing feel like they took it from ChatGPT too? It seems devoid of any soul - all the books feel the exact same only with certain tweaks to the plot. Where is the distinctive writing style? Where are the quippy observations? Why is it so bland and descriptive and so reliant on purple prose and even that prose feels so synthetic?

With the layoffs I don't want to assume the worst but - the newer books have some very dull descriptors, repeated uses of adjectives, spelling errors or weird run-on sentences and it's almost as if they threw a paragraph into some word prompter to "enhance it". Every story feels like it was written the same exact way with certain things changed.

I won't be surprised. They have so many books coming out. What an absolute insult to VIP subscribers to pay actual money, expecting good narrations but getting the same thing over and over again but repackaged differently

i don't mean to judge, but do you not think sometimes that choices's smut is making us all kinda addicted to "rpg pornography"? we get turned on by these characters and sex scenes, i for one have masturbated while playing before, and we barely get any real plot besides the smut anymore. i like sex but i think choices is raising a sex-addicted generation
