Layclaire week: Day 6 - Future
The presence of your absence
(perhaps this is more loosely layclaire, and not a literal ghost story - but its important to me that despite losing their future together, Hershel is still able to cultivate a fulfilling life full of love and carry his love for and the memory of Claire with him)

I had a thought that I hope you enjoy:
Hershel holding baby Luke for the first time, looking so awed by how tiny this baby is, then Clark, Claire and Brenda just start cooing and awing, saying he’d make a great dad, completely embarrassing him
Your ask inspired me this whole comic haha !
I have a lot of headcanon about their first meeting and a lot of things about the birth of our dear Luke Triton, but I don't want to spoil anything, so here is a few pages about this dubject haha !
Plus, I can finally draw ✨Brenda✨so it makes me REALLY happy !
I hope it brings joy to you too ;)
Were you super upset about your parent smoking too ? Or was I the only annoying kid ?

Phileas Fogg coffeeshop AU fanart
So we've been talking on the Discord about a possible ATWI80D coffeeshop AU, and it looks like we might get a fic? Basic premise: "Phileas Fogg, reclusive cafe owner, enters a baking competition as a bet with his rival and finds friendship and love while sugary hijinks ensue." Possibly the cafe is called "Estella". I find the idea of Phileas in an apron with his sleeves rolled up, elbow-deep in dough, very appealing!

“Fiat lux! If you want to talk improbable, let’s talk about this”—a scrape of stone on stone—“being three thousand and some years older than this.” A heavy clunk.
“Inexplicable, Warden.”
“Certainly not. Like everything else in this ridiculous conglomeration of cooling gas, it’s perfectly explicable, I just need to explic-it.”
“Indubitable, Warden.”
“Stop that. I need you listening, not racking your brain for rare negatives. Either this entire building was scavenged from a garbage hopper, or I am being systematically lied to on a molecular level.”
“Maybe the building’s shy.”
“That is just tough shit for the building.”
