hot take about radiodust
i don't think, in the current presentation of the show's canon, the two would even like each other, not even in an enemies to lover way
i get it, radiodust has been popular since the pilot days, but hear me out. even if you don't ship huskerdust, the show portrays them as at least being on good terms with each other. this was started by husk revealing the true nature of his relationship to relate to angel's horrifying situation.
by virtue of husk saying that alastor and him have a similar dynamic to angel and valentino, i think that out of sympathy, angel would not like alastor.
meanwhile, the only time angel has spoken to alastor has been in a sexual manner, and no matter your headcanon for the radio demon, the show has shown him to strongly dislike anything of a sexual nature.
and its not just in a romantic sense of their relationship. i see good fics, really good fics that i enjoy but i see angel being worried about alastor, protective over alastor, being friends with alastor, and im like, i don't think he'd worry for the guy!
sure, he'll ask to bone the guy, like he does, and he might be cordial if he has to, he knows the position of power alastor has, but i don't think he'd like the guy, at least for husk's sake.
honestly if alastor got hurt, i think he and husk would both be like "YESSSS FUCK THE BITCH!"
look i get it, their similar time periods are a cool aesthetic, they've been popular for years, but i just don't see the vision.

Daily reminder that there was already an actually interesting layout for Hazbin Hotel that ACTUALLY felt like it took place after the pilot but it very likely got scrapped for the bs that we got now-
Like THIS genuinely feels like some thought was put into it, unlike the official 'hey let's have a war with fucking Heaven as a season 1 finale and not put any work into getting to know any of the main characters'.
(And YES, I will be using this scrapped layout as groundwork for Limbo Ave. and possibly another au that's just basically the pilot version of HH continued for this storyline-)
(And DOUBLE YES, despite some of the plots being used in the official release I don't consider or accept it because it's obvious af that they just took the description from the scrapped work and just fucked off with everything else because no one could be bothered to take their time and think of a way to make the new stuff actually FLOW well)
#oooh save this!#lets see if i can work any of this into sah#hazbin hotel critical#vivziepop critical#hazbin critical#anti hazbin hotel#hazbin hotel criticism#hazbin hotel critique#vivziepop critique#anti vivziepop#spindlehorse criticism#spindlehorse critical#anti spindlehorse#spindlehorse critique

y'all omg my dumbass didn't make sure the options were set up properly my bad
the poll done right this time
More elaboration on the second option: Alastor being black would have made it incredibly difficult for him to become a well known radio host due to racism in the 20s.
If Alastor is Creole, then he would have to be incredibly white passing to have made it anywhere, since black radio hosts didn't take off until the end of the 1930s, after he died. Especially if he was 'living the high life' while he was alive.
This could also add to his air of superiority that he might have had to take on while he was alive, one that he might have carried to Hell and one that he would have to learn to overcome (or it'll be his fatal flaw that ends up being his doom. I'll figure it out)

clips of a potential convo between Velvette and Charlie
Velvette: We meet again, your highness-
Charlie: Do I know you?
Velvette: What- It's me, Velvette, you dumbass!
Charlie: Velvette! I didn't recognize you without your...giant hair. Why'd you shave your head?
Velvette: Well, considering you and your band of Has-Beens killed my coworkers, humiliated me in front of all of Hell, and singlehandedly ruined my career, I'm now making a quarter of my old income.
Velvette: I couldn't afford to keep up my hair maintenance, so I had to shave my hair and sell it.
Charlie: You sold your hair?
Velvette: I'm poor and in Hell, Charlotte. I can't exactly be picky about what I have to cut in order to live.
Charlie: No, no, I'm not judging you, it's just- who would buy your shaved hair? What use would someone have for that?
Velvette: The economy is like the Internet, Princess. It doesn't matter what it is, there's always gonna be someone who wants it.

A bit more elaboration on the third one; after the double death of Valentino and Vox, and the crumbling of the Vees' empire, Velvette is left ruined, reduced to a husk of her infamous self

@doodlebob54 as you wish!
Season 1: We follow our main cast and get to know them. Our Hotel Staff, consisting of Charlie, Razzle, Dazzle, Valerie, Monty (name change for Husk), Niffty, Alastor, and Mr. C. Along with our residents, Crymini, Travis, Blue Diamond (name change for Angel), and eventually Sir Pentious and Baxter.
We get to know our cast and their struggles, all of them having ties to the Vees in some way. Speaking of which, we get to know the Vees as well, introducing them as this season and the next’s antagonists. The Vees have Sir Pentious and Baxter spy on the hotel for various reasons. Valentino, to spy on Blue. Vox, to spy on Alastor. Velvette, the only one who isn't obsessed with a specific person, wants Sir Pentious to spy because Monty, Niffty, and Alastor haven't been active in hell as a group for over 7 years.
The Casino Three (not the actual name) were rivals to the Vees, and Velvette wants to make sure they aren't going to be a threat to the Vees once more.
We have a heavy focus on Valentino in particular, considering his ties to two of the residents. Charlie actually has a couple of brain cells here and actually tries to help Blue in any way she can. But there's one issue: she’s in trouble. Her parents don't approve of the Heavenly Hotel. She’s supposed to bring destruction, not redemption!
So, as punishment, her power has been greatly reduced, the bare minimum to defend herself and conjure items and clones of herself. She can't simply tear up Blue’s contract or snap Valentino out of existence.
So she bribes the Vees to let Blue stay at the Hotel and away from Valentino, and for a while, it works! But Valentino eventually grows tired, and bold. He wants Blue back, and he’s heard how the princess is a depowered pushover.
He’s coming to the Hotel.
This sends Charlie into a panic. What is she supposed to do?! She can't kill Valentino, he’d just respawn and come back again! And even if she got her hands on an angelic weapon, she can't Extinguish a Sinner, that goes against the whole purpose of the Hotel.
But she has a duty as the owner to protect her guests. What is she supposed to do?
She takes the matter to her guests. To Blue. The whole season, she’s been learning how to actually accommodate her patients and how to help them. She tried going in without thinking the first time, so she’s asking them how to approach this.
As you can expect, they all unanimously vote towards killing Valentino, so Charlie and Mr. C head out to get their hands on one of Carmilla’s angelic weapons to permanently kill him.
But since they don't know Sir Pentious is spying for the Vees, he tells Val that the most powerful members of the Hotel have just left the Pride Ring, so he’s going to attack. But Baxter has grown attached to these people, and warns them that Valentino’s coming.
(He bullshits that he saw on a drone instead of confessing that he and Pen are spies)
So, we get that scene of the Sinners preparing the Hotel and themselves for a fight, trying to hold out for Charlie and Mr. C to get back with the weapon.
We then get two episodes; one of Charlie and Mr. C getting a weapon from Carmine. This takes up a whole episode due to Charlie being on a blacklist caused by her father but Mr. C manages to threaten Carmine into handing it over, hinting that they have a connection. Their episode ends with them returning to the Hotel in ruins and under attack.
The other episode is Valentino and a shitload of contractors attacking the Hotel. We get individual sequences with the Sinners showing their growth over the season as they defend the Hotel and each other.
During Valerie’s sequence, we see her spear shine as she stabs the attackers. Remember that.
However, this battle is not easy. The Hotel is destroyed. But they manage to hold out for Charlie and Mr. C to come back! Charlie, holding the weapon, finds Valentino cornering Blue. She manages to attack him before Val lunges at her, hissing at her that she’s pathetic and an excuse of a leader.
How can she lead Hell if she can't even get Val to respect her? But Charlie tells him that he’s wrong. That there's more to being a leader than blind fear and control. It’s about earning respect and trust as you help your people while keeping them in check.
And she drops that line as she tosses the weapon over to Blue. And Blue attacks Valentino right in the heart, yelling at him about all the shit he’s done to him.
Charlie is the one to pull Blue back when he starts sobbing. Val manages to climb out a window. Charlie says they should go after him, but Blue decides against it. Val is minutes away from bleeding out to permadeath, and they don't want Niffty to have to clean up his blood.
We get a final shot of Valentino about to die, having made his way barely a couple of inches away from the Hotel, before he’s joined by Valerie, holding her spear. Valentino is about to snark that they can't leave well alone before he notices Valerie and exclaims that he knows her, before she stabs him in the heart, her spear shimmering with the same glow of Charlie’s angelic weapon.
And that is the end of season 1.
Now obviously a lot of stuff has been left out and it isn't perfect, but it's the rough draft. More is coming with the other season’s villains, but I hope that satisfies you for now, Mx. Doodle!
If you have any questions, criticisms, or suggestions, please, feel free to drop them in my inbox or in the tags! I love hearing from y’all!

Concept: Heaven and Extermination.
Heaven knows about the Extermination. The good majority of people being ok with it due to believing it to be for the greater good.
There is a faction of people in Heaven who celebrate the idea of the Extermination, either those who view it as penance for their crimes on Earth, or those who believe it as a great duty for Heaven.
There is also a faction of people in Heaven who look down on the Extermination, viewing it as going against Heaven's principles.
When Charlie goes to Heaven, however, it has been established to the audience that redemption is possible, because we see the sinners themselves ascend and take on an angelic form.
During the trial, on the Truth Orb (I don't remember it's actual name), it's shown to Heaven that no one had any clue, and a good majority of people had no clue Heaven was accepting redeemed Sinners.
It is then revealed that the reason for this was because the redeemed Sinners were being Extinguished (the term I'm going for second death) as soon as they arrived in Heaven.
This is also why Heaven is doubling Exterminations (maybe. I'm still workshopping this part) They're paranoid that Sinners have somehow found a way to Heaven and are killing as many of them as they can.
This would completely shake Charlie, horrifying her as she realizes that all the guests she helped rehabilitate were killed by the people she sent them to. It would make her question everything and make her believe that their deaths are on her hands. She gave them to Heaven, she should have known better.
As for the murdered Angel, maybe the outcome of that is that Hellborns are included in the Extermination now? Do I scrap the Dead Angel plot altogether?
I'd really like some advice or input on this.

Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. That one about the witch who would marry anyone who could get her house key from her cat and it’s revealed she IS the cat after the narrator befriends the cat.

Concept: Inhuman Overlords
While Sinners take on the form of themselves but how they died, Overlords always have an inhuman form. Whether this be an animal (Zestial, Valentino, Sir Pentious) or an object (Velvette, Vox).
This is to represent an Overlord's transition from an ordinary Sinner to a true demon of Hell. They literally trade away their humanity for more power.
There is only one way for a mortal soul to detransition from being an Overlord. The soul must choose to give up their power and status as an Overlord. There has been no known instance of this happening.
If an Overlord has their soul owned by someone else (i.e Angel and the Three), then they will still take on their inhuman forms, because once the power of an Overlord has been bestowed upon a mortal soul, there is nothing that can take it away. They may lose their status, and their power may be chained away, but it will still remain.
If an Overlord has a partial inhuman form, then that means that they have potential to be an Overlord, but something prevents them from fully taking on that status.
If an Overlord doesn't have any inhuman features, then they aren't technically an Overlord, instead merely acting as a representative as a higher Overlord. This is rare, but not unheard of. They don't carry the demonic power of their Overlord boss, but they do carry the political power.
What do you all think?

Concept: The Three
Alastor, Husk, and Niffty are an Overlord trio. They work to run Husk's casino. Husk runs the gambling part, Alastor advertises the casino, and Niffty cleans the place and...disposes...of anyone who can't pay their debts.
They've all got a direct rivalry with the Vees, opposing businesses, with Husk's casino and Velvette's products.
Vox and Alastor keep their status as rivals, while
Velvette = Husk: The backbones, the direct owners of the businesses.
Valentino = Niffty: The muscle, disposing of any threats. Also direct parallels due to them both being bugs.
The Three also lose ownership of their souls together when Husk bets it all during a game with Charlie's Backer (NOT Alastor)
This leads to tension between Husk and Alastor, as Alastor blames Husk for chaining his soul, and Husk is pissed with Alastor for sucking up to the Backer (in an attempt to gain more power)
What do you all think?

I wonder how much of the source material I can work into SAH by the logic of 'Lucifer's a petty asshole who added this in purely to piss people off'.

Workshopping the Vees
Elaboration: Each of the Vees represent a sin industry, a sindustry of Hell in SAH.
If Velvette was the Vee of Fashion, of obsession for material objects, representing the sin of Greed, then
Vox = The Vee of the Digital World, TV and Social Media. He would represent the addiction and toxicity of online circles and the mind-numbingness of the internet. He would represent the sin of Envy, always seeing what other people have, what other people do, how better they are, wanting to be them, and letting that want destroy you.
Valentino = The Vee of Entertainment, not just porn. If Vox streams and advertises it, and Velvette makes the costumes and props, then Valentino writes the scripts that all of his actors must comply with, all of his demands that they have to obey. He would be representing the Sin of Lust, a similar wanting to the other Vees, but for people. Seeing other people as objects, and wanting to control them.
All of the Vees would have the core theme of wanting, or selfishness, and be a direct antithesis to the Hotel's goal of becoming selfless, helping other people. They would try to tempt the Hotel residents into sinking back into sin and addiction, because it's easier, while Charlie would try to convince them to stay on the path to redemption because while it won't be easy, it will make them happy in the long run, instead of sinking into short term happy shots, like what the Vees offer.
Anyways, like always, say your thoughts or any criticisms in the tags/comments, and vote on the thingie.
Edit: ok change in plans based on @s0nia246's idea Velvette is in charge of manufacturing all sorts of items people are addicted to (I.E drugs, Love Potion, the pink smoke) along with fashion to tie into her theme of Greed and obsession with items.

Season 1 antagonist of SAH: The Vees, a main focus on Valentino, the season ending with his death. Sir Pentious serves as a minor antagonist as a spy.
Season 2 antagonist: The remaining Vees, ending with their empire being crumbled by Charlie with her authority as the princess of Hell. Sir Pentious ends the season having renounced the Vees, assisting the Hoteliers in defeating them.
Season 3 antagonist: Lucifer, Lillith, and the Seven Deadly Sins, trying to shut down the Hotel and it's redemption.
Season 4 antagonist: Heaven, this being Adam, Lute, and to a minor extent, Sera and Michael.
Season 5 antagonist: The Root of all Evil.
Thoughts?
