carl was extra shy back in school, not a lot of friends or even a group of them. definitely thinking about the future and already knew what he wanted to do. leaving a legacy behind has always been his dream and he studied and dedicated long hours to accomplish it.

carl, 29, from dublin, tech entrepeneur, thinks “love island” is the future of dating

i must admit, at first, carl wasn’t my favorite. it took me many moments to do his route and find this gem among other boys. 

he became a huge part of this project and mostly because he was being himself during the entire season.

the awkwardness, the fear of commitment, the cat/dog debate, his job and just in general, his views on love, friendship, intimacy and life.

his goals, his personality, his arc. everything about him became something i needed to explore on his story, and i don’t regret this decision one bit!

‘too much to calculate’ a pos-villa story where carl has a hard time to balance work and a new relationship. ghosts from his past will make an appearance. also, friends from the villa, bobby, gary, chelsea and noah are included in several chapters of this fic, and there’s a lot going on!

title: it came from a chapter i wrote back in january. when you and carl dance together, at chelsea’s party, he says “i love you… too much to calculate.” i liked the ring it had to it, and decided it had to be the title.

If you’re not liking it to that extent, you can just, like idk, not play? Every mobile game has ads? Idk what point you’re trying to make because they DO make “some kind of quality” and work really hard.

It’s a small independent company. They’re all working from home. People tore them apart for things last season; they took a new direction this season to appease the fans. I’m just saying that I prefer season 2 characters and story. Not that the company has done a poor job.

Replaying through season 2 so that I can get some LOYAL Carl lovin’ and I really miss how complex these characters were. And how different their personalities were from one another. And how they each sort of had a type/preference.
