The Dornier Do X was the largest, heaviest, and most powerful flying boat in the world when it was produced by the Dornier company of Germany. Designed by Dr. Claude Dornier in 1924 and completed in 1929, the Do X was built for long distance travel. It could carry 66 passengers on long distance trips or 100 passengers on short distance trips.

“Brooklyn Bridge”, by Eugene de Salignac, October 7 1914.

Eugene de Salignac (1861–1943) was an American photographer who worked for the Department of Bridges/Plant and Structures in New York from 1906 to 1934 . On September 22, 1914, de Salignac visited to the Brooklyn Bridge and observed workers painting the bridge’s steel-wire suspension.  A couple weeks later he returned to the bridge and took this photo.

Schwerer Gustav was a German made 80-centimetre railway gun. A railway gun is a large artillery piece, mounted, transported, and fired from a specially designed railway wagon.

It was developed in the late 1930s by Krupp in Darlowo as a siege artillery, designed to bombard fortifications, cities, and other fixed targets.

Schwerer Gustav was the largest-calibre riflec weapon ever used in combat and the heaviest mobile artillery piece ever built.
