Also lifelines. They're a pain, but hoo boy do they save your ass.

I have been thinking about gauge swatches and different approaches to fiber crafts, and now I'm wondering:
Knitters and crocheters of Tumblr, do you consider yourself more of a Process or Product crafter, and how often do you make gauge swatches?
Process crafter: I usually enjoy the process of making the Thing more than having the finished Thing
Mixed crafter: I enjoy the process of making the Thing and having the finished Thing about equally
Product crafter: I usually enjoy having the finished Thing more than making the Thing
Always swatch: No matter the project, I swatch always or the vast majority of the time (with a 10 cm/4 inch square minimum, including washing and blocking)
Often swatch: I often swatch, but not always or not with a full 10 cm/4 inch square, washing, and blocking
Minimum swatch: I tend to avoid swatching and only do it when I feel like it is absolutely necessary for the project, and/or make absolute minimum 'swatches' (e.g. knit 8 stitches in 4 rows, go "yup, close enough!", and immediately start the project)
Never swatch: I never swatch / Swatches killed my family
(Unfortunately, Tumblr doesn't allow for more than 12 poll options - if your experience is more nuanced, feel free to elaborate in the notes!)

Probably not a popular take, but I feel like most big negative opinions in dog spaces come from misuse rather than inherent badness of the things. I know dogs who have been hugely helped in their socialization and reactivity by the mindful use of dog parks. I know dogs who get walks and freedom they would never have gotten in their homes without the appropriate use of a prong, training harness, or ecollar. I use a retractable leash for tracking and am currently using it to clean up play skills for mondio at my club's recommendation.
It's not an either or. You can use decompression hikes and controlled walks. You can teach your dog to calmly watch the world and also take them to appropriate dog parks or play groups. You can use an aversive tool gently or a gentle tool as an aversive.
There's nothing wrong with choosing not to use a certain tool, but there are so many broad strokes used that make people afraid to utilize something that might really increase their dog's quality of life or their own efficacy of communication.

I think I'm finally gonna get to use the character concept I'd saved these images for. Kobold in a Hawai'ian shirt, might have a gun. Might be an artificer.
DM said not to do too much character sheet details, but come to the session 0 able to answer the question "So, where are you from?" Campaign is an interdimensional tavern crawl, so we can be from p much anywhere. Anywhere in any existing D&D world, an original realm, another fantasy world, anything, but you have to come ready to talk about it. I googled kobolds to read a little about the race, but forgot to specify and got German folklore instead, so I thought lol, what if I'm just from real world Germany?
Anyway I now have pages of notes on the fairy-tale-dark-forest-meets-industrial-revolution world I'm from. For all I know it'll never come up again after we get into the game.
