She lets the hint of a smile flicker, expression loosing some of the tension from before. “I can handle packing while you make the calls? I think by now I actually know what clothes you actually like to wear.”

“Can we leave tonight? I just…. I want to go.”

She appreciates the distance, understands why he’s letting it exist. “Do you want to listen?”

“You look like you have something on your mind. Do you want to talk about it?” He asks, taking a seat far enough away so it does not feel as if he’s intruding into her space.

She’s sitting quietly, fingers tracing over the cover of a closed notebook. There’s something on her mind, something she wants to share.
