Super mega huge design for a necklace. It needs to be big, since I'm using shrinking plastic. Something to go with my new meta dress, which has lemons and teddy bears.

Day 17: pocky day -Also known as 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY YUKIYA!'. #meganebu #inktober #inktober2015 #lucidibuja I still need to get the hang on this brush pen, because since I'm so used to draw with very thin lines, I struggle with broad lines. I apologize for the coloring, cheap watercolor pencils were all I had (I need to remember how to use those)

Day 16: Crystal. I had never put my heart into drawing a crystal before outside of geology class (both at high school and university). Although I used a dodecahedron as reference, it quickly escalated into whatever this is. I like it -shrug emoji-

Whoops! Day missing: Day 12: acorn. Testing daiso pocket brush pen. It doesn't works with water (no I would not be able to use it with watercolors), but it's awesome with copics, do I'll keep it with them.

Day 13: Marinette from miraculous ladybug. I told myself to keep fan art for the last days, but she's too cute for me to resist. Also, shout out to that daiso brush pen (the one with traditional print on it), it's awesome. I never inked something so fast before.

whats the difference between saying "the air was thin" and "the air was thick"? and how would one go about using them?
The main difference, I would say, is in the quality of the air you’re describing…
When the air is thin, it’s hard to breathe because the pressure is different. For example… being high up on a mountain or otherwise higher up into the atmosphere; the air is thin there, not because there’s less oxygen, but because it is less compressed.
It’s a little bit like the ocean. Near the surface of the ocean, the water isn’t as ‘heavy’; you can swim in it without any great effect on your body because there isn’t as much water above you to add weight onto you as you swim.
So it’s the same for why the air is ‘thick’ near the surface of the earth - all of the air above it compresses it, giving it a lower pressure. Just like how all of the water in the ocean above its lowest points weighs downwards, making the deeper seas heavier and ‘thicker’.
Of course, the effect felt in the ocean is in reverse when it comes to air. In the ocean, the lower we go, the more dangerous it is and the harder it is to thrive. As for altitude, the higher we go, the harder it is to breathe.
The air can also be thick if it is exceptionally humid, i.e. if there is a lot of moisture in it. Think about when you walk outside on a foggy day, or on a day where it is very muggy and warm. The air feels thick because of the heat bearing down, or because there is a lot of water particles hanging in the air. Air quality may also be affected by pollution or smog, which would make the air ‘thicker’ in a way.
Other ways the air can be ‘thick’ or ‘thin’, includes emotional atmospheres. Say you’re at a dinner party and two people across the table from one another start a tense, heated argument. The air might feel ‘thick’ with the intense emotions flying about the room, in the way air can feel ‘thick’ with anticipation, boredom or exhaustion.
‘Thin’ air in terms of emotions might relate more to a dream-like or derealized state. If you have ever experienced derealization, the world can feel unreal. Personally for me, the air feels ‘thin’ like I could float off in it, and the sky feels like it could be pushed over. I would use ‘thin’ air to describe more ‘airy’, whimsical type states, but you or some of our other followers might have different ideas of when to use this.
Finally, you can use ‘thin’ or ‘thick’ to refer to a character moving from one place to another where the air quality is different, i.e. it might be ‘thinner’ if they are used to a lot of pollution or smog, or ‘thicker’ if they are used to cleaner air. Additionally, smells can add a thickness to the air; think about being in a warm kitchen where a lot of cooking is underway, or in the middle of a freshly manured field. You can describe a particularly powerful smell as ‘thickening’ the air you breathe if it feels appropriate.
Anyway, please see below for some examples of how to put these terms into a sentence or paragraph.
Examples
I was ready, fingertips to the warm tarmac, eyes on the finish. Everyone was silent, the air thick with anticipation. My shoulders were tense, I was ready to bolt; but I waited, unable to breathe, desperate for the sound of the starting pistol.
The incline was steady, a beeline from the base of the mountain to what appeared to be the top. It was obscured by thick clouds at first, the rocks peppered with dry bushes and sparse grass that vanished under the belly of the cart as we ascended. I didn’t look down, not once we were too high to see the ground. With each breath, the air grew thinner, and my ears popped from the increase in pressure.
She awoke to nothing but grey pressed up against the window pane, and all of the trees on the horizon had been devoured by it too. Soon enough, Emily was at the door, one step out under the heavy fog. It clung to her skin, to the plants in the garden, to the vague outline of the fence. She went ahead, the air so thick it was like walking through soup. But it was important that she tried, despite the weather. Today was not a day to stay home for…
The further he walked from the city, the better he felt. The air was thin and fresh; it was like he could finally breathe again after years of stifled gasping. There was no smog, no warm, mingling fumes attached to every inhalation, and best of all, the loud bellows from the machines were so far behind him, it all felt like nothing but a bad dream.
Not the best writing in the world, but I hope this demonstrates the difference for you, as well as the many ways ‘thick’ and ‘thin’ as a descriptor for air can be used.
I hope this helps. Best of luck, Anon.

Day 11: Apple study (daiso brush pen review) This was a super fast drawing -like 15 min or so- to test a daiso brush pen (the one with traditional print on it). It is a water based pigment ink, but claims to be waterproof and fade proof once dry. Above there is an illustration painted with the kuretake gansai tambi set, and while in general it does not smears badly, in some areas might do it (like the text on the right bottom corner, where I used only water on top of the text; and it also altered the leaf color a little). Again, I tried this on cheap drawing paper/cardstock, watercolor paper might give better results. I am happy with the flowers, tho. They turned out pretty :3

Day 10: Frost. Fun fact: I did finish this one in time, I just forgot to upload it (facepalm). I got inspired by a documentary about Faberge eggs, especially the winter egg. And I finally got full control -sorta- of masking ink! I also added a little spark with the iridescent colors from the kuretake palette.

Day 9: Milky Way. I’m so proud of this one!!!! For the face I took as reference a vintage photograph of Renee Adoree (I just found it randomly through Google search). The only thing I do need to reconsider is to get better white acrylic paint, since the splatter effect is barely visible (time to upgrade that one too…)

Day 8: rose Not finished, but I screwed up on so many levels it's not even funny. I did learn a couple of things about shading, especially what NOT to do. I tried to fix it, but meh. I might finish it one day. If it wasn't for the center, it will look like a pea flower. Challenge accepted?

Day 7: bubbles. I made a mess, but I learned so much from it: Now I know which colors from the kuretake set interact better with the cotman ones even if they are basically the same shade, and that I should always put pink before yellow. And the most important, that I should remember to stretch the paper xD (in my defense, this was a sudden idea and I just did it on the first piece of decent paper I had available ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ)
