somebody is bullying me and sending their followers to harass me with an extremely parasocial and insane conspiracy theory abt me.

this person can make extremely bad "analyses" of teruhashi in extremely bad faith filled with EXTREME misogyny, mischaracterization and noncanon information, but im a "fake aiura fan" because i ac tually analyze her character neutrally, positively, AND negatively... im apparently misogynistic and a "fake fanblog" for treating the sexual harassment gag with aiura the exact same as the SAME sexual harassment gag with toritsuka..

the fak,e aiura fans r mad at me for... analyzing her and mentioning her canon behavior instead of only acknowledging 2 scenes she was in and treating her like a perfect one-dimensional angel with no flaws. and theyre genuinely trying to chase me off of tumblr for it like a child throwing a tantrum meanwhile theyre twice my age and this is all over an anime girl..

and people will still agree with them somehow despite them being so blatantly a big fucking bully.

they compared yumehara trying to bump into saiki and touch his hand with aiura trying to bump into saiki and touch his dick... and yet IM the one with the bad faith analysis???

nd this is all bc of a reply i made very politely to someone who asked if aiura is creepy in the manga, i responded that no she isnt but she lacks boundaries and assumes her soulmate (and others?) will match her desires and hasnt accepted that they dont... and this other person responded to op saying i claim aiura is a rapist and everyone needs to block me?

i rlly wish everyone would read my posts b4 coming to such harmful and mean conclusions just bc a popular blog said so. ive never said or done such things :( i analyze aiura as deeply as i can and provide evidence for it. this person is bullying me and trying to get other ppl to bully me js bc they dont want ppl to see my takes and thats not okay.

hi! its rlly insane that i came to tumblr bc i was told the fandom on here was nicer than on tiktok and reddit and yet what im met with is a person who has a lot more of a following than i do, bullying and spreading FALSE rumors abt me just because they disagree with my opinions! i was actually told abt u by several ppl bc despite being popular, ur known for bullying and being condescending to people over opinions u dont like, and having a lot of takes that u insist r canon but arent. i wrongfully decided against blocking u bc i didnt think id be targeted but i was clearly wrong since ur literally creating a smear campaign to run me off of tumblr just bc u dont like me, someone whos probably half ur age. do u do this to every user whos opinions u dont like? publicly bully them so everybody hates and ignores them?

not that i owe u anything but i have posted positive things abt aiura! i never called her a rapist and i dont even post abt saiteru. also i have only interaccted with total like three posts on tumblr so u treating me like im going around here being crazy is insane.

i love aiura to death, i wouldn t care so much abt the canon of her character if i didnt love her. the reason i focus on her attempted sa in the manga is bc of people like u who treat it like its some cutesy valid flirting tactic instead of what it is, and u definitely would if it had been a man like toritsuka. its the exact same behavior, the exact same gag, but ur biased so u dont care. ud rather defend attempted sexual assault and bully someone online than admit ur wrong abt something.

Reallyyyyyy fucking tired of that one user who pretends to be an Aiura fan but exclusively posts about how they think Aiura is a rapist for trying to strategically bump into Saiki just like Yumehara did in Season 1.

Weird how this "Aiura fan" never posts about how her main role in the series is saving people's lives, even if that means arguing with and potentially breaking up with her soulmate. And they don't reblog Aiura fanart or post about literally any positive thing about Aiura.

Genuinely can't imagine being such a hateful person. They spend so much time looking for Aiura posts to show up and make weird claims about her crimes or whatever instead of spending time on a fanblog for Teruhashi and Terusai (which they clearly love to pieces & is why they hate Aiura so much).

i was totally just rambling on abt miko in my first reply LOL i totally forgot to even mention the other characters. i also forgot to say i rlly rlly love that u put screenshots of saiki moments actually similar to their perceptions of him, i think its rlly interesting how his friends actually get some parts right, albeit often exaggerated, even if they havent actually seen it directly. its almost like this third eye except they usually zero in on whatever pieces they choose, like how kaido points out it feels like saiki is always watching over and protecting them even tho hes shown to see saiki as a shy pathetic coward. so! to an extent i think all of them actually understand saiki more than their thoughts typically reveal

i agree that rifutas behavior towards him is definitely very showy that she rlly thinks thats what hes like lol, i feel like aiura and rifuta r on par. i always saw imus as mostly her anger towards the boy who was keeping teruhashi from her, but then she pretty quickly moves into trying to get teruhashi another boyfriend so she has to still to some extent believe he isnt good enough for teruhashi in comparison to the rich hot men she tried to set her up with (she didnt seem to think they were worthy either since she was quick to leave when they ignored yumehara [interestingly not pointing out them ignoring her too bc lesbian comphet, "looking for a boyfriend" my ass] but she didnt go to lengths to prevent it like with saiki)

teruhashi on the other hand actually is the one that 100% canonly knows (at least by the point of this chapter... 182 i think? she probably deluded herself at first and then very slowly got to the point where she was able to admit this, which is actually an insane feat for her all things considered.) her fantasies arent real, as she even admits that she was trying to get back at him for not reacting rather than trying to grace him with her presence since he loves her so much like her thoughts usually might lead one to believe. she seems to just be tsundere in her own damn head js like saiki is

ur interpretation of aiura makes a lot more sense to me now, i totally get why u see the perceived-selfishness as her just being upset. i also think shes not completely wrong here but she also has an extreme lack of understanding and compassion for him, partly his fault but still true.

i personally disagree tho because this view of him is consistent, and since her fantasies of him actually align with him being selfish but in a different way, i dont think shes all that strict on her own moral values. its not the first time she calls him selfish, its also not the first time shes been a little rude to him. one of her main character traits is that she simultaneously hates perverts but is also a pervert herself, so i dont think a little hypocrisy is far beyond her. they definitely trust each other to an extent, not denying that, toritsuka and aiura and saiki all have this mutual trust in each other which is why she went to BOTH of them for help with the train situation, yet we do know that her morals conflict to an extreme extent with toritsukas. yet theyre still not only friends, but i also think aiura would probably associate with anyone no matter how bad in order to save people because she has such a strong sense of justice. its true that she doesnt react to him being heroic, but i feel like that fits both of our points. she never reacts like its out of character but she also never thinks deeply abt it, like how with meras dad she knew he helped but her opinion on his selfishness did not change and she seemed to credit herself more than him. this scene was bittersweet because aiuras sense of justice definitely helped make saiki into the person he is by the end and it seemed to touch his heart... but SHE doesnt know that, or at least doesnt seem to.

aiura isnt in very many chapters, and she shows at least one severe misunderstanding of saiki in almost every single one so i dont agree its not as consistent. a single sentence or text from him is read by her as "i want to have sex with you."

eh... i think the miscommunication situation is the hardest to navigate but ur reading of it is actually even more uncomfortable than mine i think lol. in the chapter, its shown that she read the entire text with all the context and undressed and tried to have sex with him anyway. i sorta read that as her zeroing in on the parts she wanted, mixing it up in her delusional head, and believing he wanted like... comfort sex or something. ur reading is that she knew he didnt want sex and proceeded to hop naked in his bed anyway, potentially teasing him... which is less accidental sexual harassment and more... fully purposeful sexual harassment OOPS... even worse that she called him not wanting to have sex a "turn off" and proceeded to say she should get a favor anyway

all of this, to me, reads like she truly assumed that her soulmate would perfectly match her desires and want her back immediately. she consistently lies to people that saiki is her boyfriend, so i feel like the reason she bounces back easily after getting rejected is less her not being pushy and more her genuinely believing theres no possibility he wont eventually get with her. she also does get jealous of teruhashi and even calls her "the final boss" bc even tho she admires her, she still thinks she has to win saiki from her

i will say... aiuras attempts definitely slow down or lessen over time. i think the first ever trick she used was demanding she kiss him, and the second one... was a sexual assault attempt? after that, theyre more tame but still considerably pushy.

i feel like i should clarify even tho it may be obvious from my profile that im not trying to hate by talking sm abt the negative aspects of aiura, some of it is bc i think saiki and aiura had so so much potential to have a true and deep understanding of each other because of their powers and even similar experiences with them, but they never get that and i was kinda disappointed. toritsuka got it and aiura didnt and that KILLS me. aiura had so much lore randomly mentioned and then never elaborated on, just the same as what happened to characters like kuboyasu who had so much in common with saiki but never got to explore this. aiura shouldve had more since she had more opportunities, but it never turned into anything at all. volcano arc saved my damn life but also crushed me under a mountain of ice. reminder that the volcano scene hug was ERASED at the end because he changed the timeline, so only he knows it happened and aiura doesnt. a lot of this would be different if her views had changed later on, but they didnt. i think they will in the future but thats beyond canon.

the disparity in how the girls view saiki entertains me also btw

rifuta imagines saiki as a debonair and oh so dangerous playboy with his shirt unbuttoned, shimmering eyes, and glamorous hair. she's actually completely replaced a memory with this scenario too instead of making something up wholesale.

yumehara imagines saiki as soft and rounded with big guileless eyes - completely nonthreatening in other words, which she somehow combines with the edward cullen creep factor because in her imagination he likes to sniff her hanky....?????

teruhashi imagines him as mostly himself, just with a complete personality switch. unless it's during art class in which case you either get plainer-than-satou or bishoujo-romance-kun. so apart from those instances, you could say that she understands certain pieces of his character, but overrides the others completely to her own preferences. IE 'Kunio' vs 'Kusuo'.

aiura doesnt have nearly as many imagine spots iirc, probably since, of the girls, she knows saiki the best? and iirc she seems to know it's more fantasy than reality. she accepts that this version of him lives in her head. but she's probably the closest of all of them there, too, albeit she's ramped a certain part of his personality WAY up. saiki is prone to giving mischievous and charming grins like below but he wouldn't say that in a thousand years.

(i also think it's very funny that yumehara and kaidou's interpretations of saiki are very freaking similar)

of the girls, rifutas and aiuras fantasies are the most similar and yumehara and teruhashi's are the most similar. i think they all have things in common with saiki - if you mash them all together, you might get a character that's somewhat similar - but ofc they're certainly not him.

it's also interesting which pieces of him they play up and play down, and who of them most commonly use him as a prop to uphold their egos. rifuta makes up a completely different character, yumehara idealizes him to an enormous extent, teruhashi doesn't mind his appearance but doesn't prefer his natural personality (though i think she warms up to that aspect of him as they get to know each other) and aiura, well... manga readers know whats up there. but again, she likes his face and she really likes it when he shows his domineering side - but that's only one aspect of his personality.

it's too bad that of the boys the only one who has imagine spots of him is kaidou, at least to my recollection. would've been fun to compare and contrast those too. for example what do 'shadow leader' and 'partner' and 'master' look like?

i js wanted to add a little bit to this abt aiura bc it interests me how differently u remember aiura from how i do and i think u might be remembering some things wrong, not trying to be rude just adding on if thats ok! :3

miko seems to have a very limited understanding of saiki, esp since even after the mera sequence where she witnessed his selflessness, she still wholly believes hes selfish and doesnt care abt people. even when he proves this wrong a SECOND time, her opinion doesnt seem to change beyond thinking "omg kusuo did something for ME <3"

she fully believes hes sexually sadistic, kinky, and wants her sexually, even to the point of believing he was asking her to have sex when he messages her that he needed help bc he turned 2 ppl to stone (which he fully clarified in the message as a lot of ppl forget or dont know bc the anime removed a lot of contextual dialogue in the manga). her 2 fantasies abt him being all "youre mine" and the other with the "im stronger when ur with me!" r both just fantasies yes but at least for the 2nd one she genuinely asked if thats what he was doing and for the 1st one u might be right that she knows its in her head but its still established she srsly believes hes like that so i feel like it might be more her showing frustration that he didnt do that, like his perceived "selfishness" isnt directed where she thinks it should be

this is random but i was thinking abt it recently and wanted to do somewhat of an analysis on this!

saiki k is pretty much a satire anime that utilizes common tropes; subverting tropes, satirizing tropes, making fun of tropes, etc. but i think theres a distinct difference between the way the "main" characters' tropes r done versus the more sidelined characters!

"main" characters:

saiki- kusuo is pretty obviously based on the overpowered main characters, the character who always gets the girls, has his own harem, who has overpowered abilities, THE main character. but saiki k SUBVERTS this trope, bc saiki doesnt WANT to be a main character and tries very hard not to be. (ie yumehara being a shoujo main character trope and saiki was set up to be her male love interest but he did everything in his power to make sure itd be someone else)

kaido- based on the chuunibyou trope except hes aware that his delusions arent real and hes rlly just an insecure loser, i think the scene where he jumps in front of that snake as an act of bravery whilst knowing damn well he doesnt have powers is a good representation of this subversion. i also think the fact that hes a chuunibyou whos fantasies r perfectly based on saikis powers is a pretty good subversion of the trope ive never seen done before (correct me if this is a common thing, i usually see chuunibyous in high school/slice of life animes and not action or fantasy so idk if its a thing)

teruhashi- kokomi is based on mary jane characters; characters who r inexplicably perfect and have no flaws, usually there to be the main male characters love interest so the guy can get the perfect girl in the end. saiki k SUBVERTS this trope because teruhashi ISNT rlly perfect, she presents as such and according to saiki shes as perfect as a person CAN be, but she isnt "perfect" (nobody is). since we hear her thoughts, we know she actually ISNT a mary jane but if we didnt hear her thoughts, we would think she was.

toritsuka- i think he fits into the main character subversions BUT for the most part in the manga he fit with the side characters just as his trope but with powers, this is because his trope was presented somewhat like makotos where he just exists as a pervert and the audience is supposed to laugh AT him and AT this trope. specifically, even tho hes more powerful than ur typical perv character, he fails to actually get what he wants most of the time and thats why its funny. but then in the very last 2 volumes he earns his place with a subverted trope! he remains to be saikis foil but he now has heroism and a redemption building under his sleeve which is very much not typical of pervert tropes

"side" characters:

hairo- sports manga main character trope, no subversion, just exists in the manga as a cool guy and a sports manga main character

aiura- gyaru girl character trope, fits neatly into STEREOTYPES abt being gyaru, is often characterized as rude and perverted but also very social and popular

makoto- literally just exists as the perverted siscon trope, as a way to make fun of the trope and laugh at it

saiko- rich guy who learns abt true friendship trope. pretty straightforward but i will say that usually the "learns friendship" part comes from a love interest whereas here, rather than teruhashi who it seemed like that setup was for, he learns it through mostly nendo so... nensaiko is real/hj

yumehara- my girl chiyo is SO close to fitting the main character subversions but she misses the mark, i think she wouldve if she had more screentime. shes supposed to be a shoujo manga main character, but she generally has bad taste in men and saiki is set up to be her male love interest (seemingly a trope of the guy who would break her from her streak of awful men but he ends up putting her right back into it) but since hes saiki, he avoids it and she ends up dating a guy whos pretty close to a shoujo male lead except he ends up being a total loser and a terrible boyfriend, she moves back to saiki but with saikis help and kaidos bravery, she eventually moves on to kaido. shoujo lead girl and the chuunibyou character is def something ive never seen! unfortunately shes sidelined and often reduced to fat jokes. saiki also erased her classic shoujo love confession.

kuboyasu- fits pretty neatly into the reformed delinquent trope i think, his is so obvious that the joke is usually that he tries to keep it secret but hes so cliche everyone can tell (why is there an abandoned puppy after it started raining!?)

honorable mentions:

nendo- putting him here bc im honestly unsure what his trope is so someone please butt in and tell me if u understand him better than i do. in volume 0 of the manga, it seems like he has a main character subversion as hes the delinquent character whos actually secretly just an idiot and very kind, however to my understanding, this seems to have been retconned since i dont think him being an actual delinquent who bullied saiki for his homework is ever mentioned again nor does it make sense with how hes constantly extremely kind and everyone even knows hes kind but just hates him bc hes ugly, and saiki constantly talks abt what a nice guy he is, his aura that aiura saw is literally angelic and perfect, so im not exactly sure what his trope is supposed to be now. is "dumb ugly guys who r actually nice" a common anime trope i just havent seen??? i think he should go in main obviously but i wouldnt know what to say abt it

kusuke- um... a combination of the brocon trope and the mad scientist trope, does that count as a subversion of tropes?? id say hes a much deeper character than most brocons so maybe? idk

mera- what exactly IS her trope, a combination of random side character who eats a lot, character who always works at the establishments the main character goes to, and the broke character?

akechi- not sure where he fits tbhhhh, hes both the character who talks a lot and the childhood friend with a dark past. i think i want to put him in main subversions but im not sure how to word it and i dont think he got enough screentime to justify it... sad

lmk if u disagree or have anything to say! btw im somewhat sure im using the word subvert wrong bc technically the way the characters exist as their tropes but used for something different IS subverting so just know i js dont have better words for it. the main characters r true, deeper subversions, while the side characters r js like wtvr, kind of subverting IDK

soulmates

the idea of soulmates or "fated partners" is intriguing to me, heres my theory abt the soulmate mechanics of saiki k ^^

my 1st and main theory is that its related to mikos ability to see compatibility, ppl with the highest or maybe only if its 100% compatibility r considered soulmates. however tho i do believe this in general bc it has the most canon backing i dont actually think this could be the case for saiki and aiura, we never get to see it but i think if wed been shown the compatibility (or chance of success) between these 2 it would be low (u can reference my miko analysis for y i think this) so i think theres more than 1 way for ppl to be fated partners. the idea that this is the only way to be soulmates also contradicts info ill provide below

another theory ppl have had is that ur soulmate is literally ur future partner, and at 1st i thought this was implied when i read the manga bc miko says she was "looking into her own future" when she found her soulmate, however after checking a few translations, this seems to be a mistranslation, she uses the same language as she does for any future or non-future readings. this post would b rlly long if i went into it but i think this theory is completely off the table in saiki and mikos case, it would contradict what we know (abt mikos powers, future not being stagnant, the fact she went out of her way to change the future to find her soulmate which would imply it wasnt in her future b4, and more), but maybe the future isnt entirely off the table as a factor for soulmates in general. i do think its possible considering all her talk of future and fate

canon facts abt soulmates:

-they r hardly mentioned at all. the only mentions of soulmates r: 1) when shes talking abt saiki. 2) chiyo thinks shes shuns soulmate, miko doesnt believe so. 3) in 236, a client asks miko if hell ever get married, miko refers him to "the woman of his dreams", NOT his "fated partner" or "soulmate." its unclear if this woman is his soulmate or if she foresaw something else (im in the middle of a reread so pls correct me if im wrong so i can add to this and on that note lmk if my translations r ever off)

-miko mentions she doesnt believe chiyo is shuns soulmate, but she didnt scry this and her language implies she doesnt know for sure. this means their 2-4% compatibility doesnt actually 100% ensure that they arent soulmates, but it might be what made her think they probably arent. this means compatibility may be linked but not entirely indicative of being soulmates

-miko mentions that she was "rlly feeling it" the day she found her soulmate which may imply its very hard and rare for her to see. she also makes no attempts to get any1 else with their soulmates iirc so it seems unimportant and not guaranteed, its only a desire

-compatibility, which may be linked to soulmates, is also referred to as "chance of success", which may or may not be an interchangeable term

so with all that in mind heres my theories for all the ways ppl can be considered fated partners:

-highest/100% compatibility

-your ideal/dream person (i think this 1 may be possible to be unreciprocated or possibly u have to be each others dream person with ur ideals, morals, and plans for the future lining up)

-the person u get with in several possible timelines or in the foreseeable future

-the best future that can be foreseen is 1 where u r together

i also dont think miko can conciously choose or see which "type" of soulmate shes seeing

we also have to consider that compatibility and the future BOTH canonically change pretty easily and altho that concept interests me in the context of soulmates, its rlly hard to consider that here in a way that doesnt stretch too far from theories into just fanon and where soulmates would still mean anything at all, so ill table that for now but the idea that soulmates can be changed is very intriguing and i think its pretty likely when i consider how all of mikos seen powers work

now specifically for saiki and miko: i think theyre some form of the last 1. i think fate brings them together bc every future where they dont meet is a bad future, at least for saiki. this is bc i believe kusuo could never have stopped the volcanic eruption, or at least that it wouldve taken him many more years to do so without miko. therefore each future where theyre happiest is 1 where theyre connected in some way

a reading that describes chiyos future romances... i would love to know more abt this! r some of these potential futures that may or may not happen? or is this all for 1 future that miko thinks chiyo is down the path for?

some of these seem to describe chiyo in her future romances and others seem to describe her future partners, at least i think so unless chiyo is the abuser freeloader marriage scammer with a gambling addiction. i wonder which r which, is chiyo the 1 who will be divorced 4 times or is 1 of her future potential partners going 2 be some1 whos already divorced 4 times?

has any1 who speaks japanese and has the manga clarified b4 what she means by "chance of success: 2%"? this 2% is what was shown to be shun and chiyos "compatibility", so if these r rlly the exact words she means then is that what "compatibility" rlly is?

the layout of this scene has me thinking more abt their chemistry being better when miko isnt trying to force it to be romantic or sexual and failing to read the room

yes its a gag manga so it adds to the humor but i think the change when she asks to kiss him matters. this kind of background is used often when kusuo is upset by something iirc so maybe he thinks the same thing until she js hugs him instead and everythings good again^^ their chemistry rlly is better when she lets it be as it is, platonic!

aiura mikoto analysis!!

i feel that theres a big lack of miko analyses in this world and its bc ppl usually ignore or justify all her character flaws bc they js wanna see her as “the better teruhashi”, so here i am to right the world and attempt 2 do an in-depth analysis on miko!! pls forgive if im missing things, i will edit this as i get a better understanding of her character. and yes i mostly focus on her relationship with saiki soz abt that :p (this is NOT a saiura post tho and ull be disappointed if u go in thinking that)

aiura mikoto is a kindhearted and mostly selfless character who goes out of her way to help ppl, usually for no reason other than she cares, and shes willing to put herself in danger for the sake of others. shes blunt and knows the value of herself and her powers- though this can go a bit too far at times…

she plays the role of kokomis love rival which makes sense since her genuine desire to help others and expect no personal gain and her upfront and honest attitude sharply contrasts kokomis ingenuity and tendency to be kind to others for personal gain (at least as far as she believes)

miko is honest to a fault, blurting out whatever she thinks, while kokomi speaks carefully to curate her image. miko has a tendency to act first and think later, while kokomi thinks first and acts in a crafted way that aligns with her goals.

and they also have things in common like both being very self-sacrificial and being kind to others at their own expense, but again kokomi does this more out of desperation for validation while miko does it out of genuine kindness

their crushes on saiki r also a bit similar, ill talk abt this more but aiura goes into her crush not bc she genuinely has feelings for saiki but bc she believes hes her soulmate and so she makes up a personality for him that matches her desires while kokomi goes into her crush not bc she was actually attracted to him but bc she was confused abt her resentment towards him and wanted him to be infatuated with her. tho, we get to see teruhashi develop past and acknowledge this while aiuras misunderstandings r consistent until the end

then theres the chapter where they switch styles and we see how their typical selfish vs selfless bit can also be reversed in ways bc the main reason for their differences is that miko is so blunt and open while kokomi hides her feelings, bc although we do see kokomi thinking badly abt miko, shes never anything but kind to her aloud while miko despite thinking so highly of kokomi, ends up being the 1 who does something to directly affect kokomi negatively

its a little hard to tell whats going in this scene but by my pov it seems like the 1st part is what saiki wanted miko to tell kokomi, with how serious it is and how thats the main focus b4 we go into kokomis own thoughts and saikis reactions, and so the 2nd thing is NOT a part of saikis objective and is miko trying to take advantage of the situation bc its her going on and on in the background while the focus has already changed. by this point kokomi has already begun to move on from her jealousy and the little freakout she had, while miko is stuck in her jealousy and seeing kokomi as "the final boss" and trying to change kokomis feelings. tho her feelings r much milder than kokomis ever were, her approach is blunt and an attempt to effect kokomi while kokomis was quiet and would only affect herself. this is why their rivalry is so important, they represent the "good" and the "bad" that the other doesnt have

as for mikos relationship with kusuo, they have a good bond thats highlighted pretty immediately when they meet and they work so well together to keep chiyo safe. bc of this, hes able to trust her (and toritsuka) to help him out with things involving his powers that at this time he cant trust any1 else for

the chapter with meras dad has them clashing a lot, but it does end up working out. the chapter highlights mikos stubborn and reckless nature clashing with saikis pessimism and tendency to refuse to look past the badness of a situation

mikos intentions r entirely selfless, but her reaction here is stubborn and unreasonable :p saiki was also not entirely reasonable, and this shows their opposite values that clash so much yet come together in the end to get the best outcome for mera. in this moment tho, it feels hurtful that saiki genuinely confides in her his hesitations and concerns for others and specifically meras health after something miko did ended up hurting her and miko responds like this and only rethinks when saiki leaves. in the end she does show that shes thought abt what saiki says, so its not a “half-hearted attempt” anymore and she goes into it knowing itll be okay bc she saw that it will

but despite this, miko doesnt learn her lesson abt recklessly using her powers nor does she think past her misunderstandings and realize saiki does care abt ppl, she still moves past this believing she was right the whole time and saiki is unreasonable and selfish. imo these chapters were a chance for them to have a way better understanding of each other especially since saiki opening up to her abt his hesitations was such a rare moment but unfortunately she didnt understand and never rlly ended up doing so beyond having a doki doki moment abt saiki caring abt her after she was the one he had to save from the consequences of her actions

tho these chapters highlight how off her perception of him is their relationship is still furthered by them bc of how wonderfully they worked together even when they werent getting along, saiki clearly trusts her a lot since this ends with him asking her to help him stop the volcanic eruption

however when it comes to romance... for all my love for miko, im never ever gonna ship saiki with someone who tried to sexually assault him :p n yes, ik its a gag manga, thats not relevant :p if ppl can like and understand toritsukas character without shipping him with ppl he sexually harassed, i can do the same with miko!!

she was genuinely surprised when he caught her here which tells me despite knowing abt his powers she didnt think he would catch her, so if he were powerless or otherwise hadnt caught her she wouldve simply sa him here. ive seen some ppl say "she realized he wasnt into it after this so shes very respectful of his boundaries" and im kinda baffled at that interpretation :p its not a flex that she realized he didnt wanna be sexually assaulted. idk guys maybe sexually assault is js generally bad??? besides, even beyond the fact this shouldnt have to be an established boundary in the 1st place, it seems way less likely that she understood a boundary here and more likely that she js realized that strategy wouldnt work on him bc of his powers :p

the one where she undresses in his bed is more of a genuine misunderstanding but it still shows how badly she misunderstands him. she ignored most of his message and only read the part she wanted and expected and had clearly been waiting for, and immediately jumped into his bed and took her clothes off, ending up in him almost kicking her out

despite these situations where he clearly expresses disdain at the idea of sexuality, this misunderstanding of hers is consistent throughout her character :p the overwhelming evidence to the contrary never makes her stop assuming that he secretly wants it or smth

i think despite being into other men, she put a lot of stake in her idea of soulmates :p she scryed it and transferred schools to find him after all, and she has a lot of trust in her own self and power, so i think she made a lot of untrue assumptions abt soulmates and how perfect they are and thought she and saiki would immediately click and get along and thered be 0 incompatibilities at all- as if finding her soulmate will fulfill all her romantic n sexual desires. this is why she makes 0 effort to build a romantic connection between them b4 declaring them soulmates and lovers, several times claiming theyre already dating, she assumed itd already exist. therefore she thinks that since SHE is very sexual, her soulmate must be as well. they seem to have nothing in common besides powers and the drive to help others which she isnt aware of, especially in what they want in life and from a partner, which i think is another reason she decided early on based on no evidence that hes a very sexual sadist and latched onto the idea, unable to believe anything else despite all evidence otherwise, for the entire show. 

shes obviously wrong. shes js too fixated on her own desires and expectations to realize that.

she originally claimed to have “fallen in love” with saiki only after seeing his powers and deciding that his mild sassiness was somehow indicative of sadism or sexuality. in the same breath she expresses disappointment in who her soulmate is and doesnt like his personality, so its pretty clear she cooked that up so she could have something to latch onto. from that point forward, i dont remember her showing attraction to anything abt saiki beyond his powers and the sadism/sexuality she misunderstood.

miko deserves some1 she doesnt feel the need to project onto js to feel like her desires r being fulfilled, and saiki deserves some1 who doesnt continuously expect from him what he doesnt want to give and has expressed that.

the thing is they have WAY better chemistry when she ISNT trying to force romance or sexuality into their relationship and she tends to misunderstand every platonic situation with him as that so it makes it a bit hard to see past her misunderstandings and see their friendship through it

at the very end of volcano arc she ALMOST ruins the moment by misunderstanding the situation as romantic and asking to kiss him but the hug she ends up giving him after is much sweeter and more emotionally impactful. its ofc not wrong for her to ask honest questions, im not saying she was wrong for it and its also not wrong 4 her to want to kiss him in that moment, but it does show her inability to read him and the situation and how this limits the chemistry between them. her stubborn nature still came out here when instead of simply accepting the “no” she said “AT LEAST let me give u a hug then” as if he owes at least something to her, but i dont fault her for this bc they both def needed and deserved a hug in that moment. saiki himself has also generally never been averse to platonic physical touch, often letting nendo or toritsuka etc to touch him without protest so this isnt any kind of boundary being broken. funnily, miko is the only person i remember him refusing to let touch him like him making her sit on the other side of the table and teleporting away from a hug but that seems to have changed by the end, or at the very least hell allow it from her in certain situations

miko is overall a good and genuine person, most notably how despite her jealousies of kokomi she still admires her so much, her defenses of kumi who was being bullied in a clothing shop, her expressing she doesnt mind helping kusuo for nothing in return (despite saying this immediately after implying she still wanted a favor after he didnt want to have sex with her, honestly not sure abt this part), and her mostly genuine intentions with her clients

hallo!! im cloud/candy! after lurking on tumblr for like 6 years, i finally made my own blog ^^ ill prob be miko posting frequently
