hello physically disabled person reading this. it is not your fault that your medical supplies are made from a lot of single use plastic and you can continue using them guilt free. your health comes first. thank you for existing.

Would appreciate it if people understood tumblr is a place where you dont have to censor things out of fear they'll get taken down or something
Kill, death, sex, nudity, etc you can say all of it uncensored.
Plus spelling words out like k*ll or d3ath just ruins it for screen readers so people using them have no clue wtf was just said!
The only time we should be censoring things is slurs you cant reclaim in cases like cripplepunk being shortened to cpunk for people who cant reclaim or don't feel comfortable saying cripple, and even then we shouldn't censor them with misplaced numbers and stuff.
Hell even porn you can say instead of calling it corn. This isnt tiktok or Instagram or Twitter, and there are abbreviations for things you dont feel comfortable saying.
Not comfortable saying suicide? Okay, shorten to sui or say k(m)s (any variation of kill(ed) my/them/your self), you still dont have to say ridiculous things like "self delete" or "sewer slide"
You're allowed to talk about those topics and we should never be made to be all hush hush about these very real things because they're part of life. Being able to say them doesnt desensitize you to them anymore than seeing them on tv.
Of course when it comes to slurs its helpful if you can avoid saying them unless you can reclaim them, there are so many ways to censor them if they have to come up at any point and still make it accessible to screen readers without saying something ridiculous in its place.
I know I'm not the only user tired of seeing words censored, it was funny at first seeing people move from places like Twitter talking like that and not knowing how tumblr works but it's gotten a little obnoxious at this point.

I find the argument that 16 year olds shouldn’t vote because “there political views change” funny because your political views are always meant to change regardless of age
I’m 29 my political views are diffrent from when I was 25 because the world and country has changed

for disability pride month i wanna give a shoutout to assistive tools involved in hygeine and the bathroom. things like incontinence pads, adult diapers, catheters, accessible showers, assisted bathing, etc. i think a lot of people see those aspects of disability as undignified or only assosciate them with the elderly which i think is a real shame because they're an everyday reality for a lot of people. and i think its wonderful that those people have options to make their life easier.

Guys Is it yelling at the void to say able bodied people shouldn't use our reclained slur to describe their non physical conditions? (Retorical question)

Do you need to use a mobility aid to be cripple punk? or just disabled? Is there like criteria or anything?
Cripple punk is very interesting to me and I really feel like I need to find more disability community but I think it kind of incites some kind of insecurity that I don't count or I'm not 'disabled enough'
/gen
Cripple punk is for anyone of any physical disability, theres no dictating if you're "disabled enough" because there is no "enough" it's just simply if you're physically disabled regardless of how severe it is or isnt. Mobility aids arent a requirement, not everyone can afford one or is in an environment that let's them have one.
If your condition is in anyway debilitating then you are disabled, imposter syndrome is an ass and we all deal with it, but you are welcome.
The only people not welcome are able bodied people
The founder made it clear.

I will eventually have a post out talking more on cpunk and the slur itself

Disabled people are the largest minority in the world and we are taught to believe being or becoming disabled is a thing that rarely happens and ESPECIALLY not to you. Even though anyone can become disabled at any time, we are not considered ever. We are treated like we don't exist, and when we say "hey, we exist!" We are told its so rare that our experience is meaningless and useless in most discussions.

"supporting disabled people is fine but we shouldn't support fat people because it's unhealthy!"
fatness is not inherently unhealthy
do you think chronic illness somehow is healthy?
it's such a double standard and this is part of what I mean by ableism and fatphobia are intertwined. health gets equated to morality and to worth. you cannot have disability rights without fat rights alongside it- in part because if you're not moralizing health you're not moralizing fatness.
either healthiness determines your worth therefore chronic illness and fatness* both make you less than
or
healthiness is irrelevant to your worth therefore chronic illness and fatness* are both neutral factors in a person's life.
*see point 1
by crying in my notes about how you can support disabled people but not fat people because "fat people aren't healthy" you show you actually don't support disabled people because your support for a person is conditional on their health.
the two will always be intertwined

Parents aren't a special class of people exempt from criticism or the consequences of their own actions. You do not inherently owe them respect. They're just people like anybody else and only deserve to get in return what they put out. Taking care of you and raising you was the bare minimum requirement when they chose to have a child.
You do not owe your parents shit.

if you feel excluded, hurt, and threatened by the mere presence of physically disabled people, you aren’t a victim of ableism. far from it. you are the perpetrator
