HTC U11 adds Amazon Alexa support
If you own an HTC U11 and prefer Amazon‘s Alexa to Google Assistant, the day of days is here.
The HTC U11 officially supports Amazon Alexa, and not simply in text form. The digital personal assistant fully supports voice input, so U11 owners just need to say “Alexa” to get the assistant to pop up. Once it does, you’ll get an on-screen panel showing that it’s listening, and Alexa will reply to your queries.
Users can ask Alexa what the weather is, quickly access Amazon Music or Audible, and even control the smart devices in your living space. Alexa supports more than 15,000 Skills, which can be downloaded from the Alexa Skills Store.
A couple of noteworthy bits: Since U11 owners have a phone they can squeeze, they can use that feature to activate Alexa, too. HTC does note that the phone needs to be unlocked to access Alexa.
This makes the first smartphone with always-ready, and hands-free access to Alexa. Any U11 owners out there going to start using Alexa?

HTC U12 Real Images Reportedly Posted [LEAKS]
HTC U12 email update from check out more on this below
Earlier today, we have reported about the HTC U12 which was found listed on Verizon’s Open Development website. Now, the HTC U12+ has been leaked in all its glory via ‘HTC Taiwan News Update’page on Facebook. The leaked images reveals all the design aspects of the device. The leaked images also includes the bootloader page and the sign first-time boot-up page of the U12+.
The Leaked images suggest that the phone is going to have a candy bar design with glossy curved back and curved edges on the corners. There is a dual camera setup at the back, lined up horizontally, along with a dual-LED flash and a circular fingerprint scanner below the cam setup. On the front, it seems to sports an 18:9 edge-to-edge display with quite thin bezels on either sides. The display does not have curved edges or the top notch like most of the current smartphones in the market. The top bezel houses the dual front camera setup while the USB Type-C port along with the speaker grill sits on the bottom of the device. The volume rocker and the power button is placed on the right edge while the SIM tray is on the left. Notably, there is no 3.5mm audio jack available.
From previous leaks, the HTC U12+ will runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with HTC Sense UI on top of it. It will sports a 6” Quad HD+ (2880 x 1440 pixels) Super LCD 6 display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core coupled with Adreno 630 GPU. It offers 6GB of RAM and 64GB/ 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card.
For photography, the HTC U12+ comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup with the combination of a 12MP and a 16MP sensor along with LED flash support. On the front, there is another dual camera setup which includes two 8MP sensors with Real-time bokeh effects.
The HTC U12+ is expected to be fueled by a 3420mAh battery with fast charging and wireless charging support. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. Stay tuned with TechnoCodex for more updates.

HTC 10 – Their latest Flagship
Today, HTC unveiled their new device that they have been working on for the last year.
The HTC 10 is their current flagship device, developed using customer feedback.
Their newest device combines a world-class camera with gold standard audio with a new metal unibody design
According to HTC, their new phone has better sound quality and the fingerprint sensor will recognise your finger from almost any angle.
During development the device was put through a multitude of stress tests; subjected to over 168 hours of extreme temperature tests ranging from -20’C to 60’C along with over 10k drop, bend, scratch and corrosion tests.
“With HTC 10 they have delivered what they believe to be the best smartphone camera available on the market today. With the world’s first optically stabilized, larger aperture f/1.8 lenses on both the front and rear cameras, new larger sensors, 12 million of their new generation UltraPixels (1.55um per pixel), faster laser autofocus powering the main camera and a wide angle lens and screen flash on the front UltraSelfie™ camera, the phone delivers brilliantly sharp, low light and high-resolution photos whether behind or in front of the lens.”
The camera is designed to launch in as little as 0.6 seconds, and a 2nd generation laser autofocus that gives focused shots faster, it’s quick enough to even work in burst mode.
But it’s not just the imaging that puts this smartphone at the top of its game – the HTC 10 combines vivid 4K video with the world’s first stereo, 24-bit, Hi-Res audio recording – capturing 256 times more detail than standard recordings across twice the frequency range and enabling you to bring to life your recorded content as if you were actually there in person.
The HTC 10 boasts the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with enhanced 4G LTE. Each device also comes with Boost+ which is designed to make your phone faster, to consume less power and to provide effective security and applications management features. This includes smart boost, which automatically optimizes your memory; a game battery booster, which uses less battery during gameplay; and a new PowerBotics system, which auto detects and shuts down apps that use excessive power – improving battery life by 30% and delivering up to two days charge.
Not only does Boost+ optimize performance, making it easier to launch apps, but its App Lock function also adds a new layer of security by enabling you to lock any app you choose, whilst App Manager provides an instant fix for when an app isn’t behaving.
The HTC 10 also includes the latest in-box quick charge 3.0 Rapid Charger with improved thermal management that can charge the battery up to 50% in just 30 minutes – ideal for people who find their phone running low on juice before the end of the working day.
It will come in two variants with different Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ processors to cater for different market needs. They will both offer the same design, audio, camera and display, with a similar software experience and battery life. In the U.S., the HTC 10 will come with the Snapdragon 820 processor.

HTC U12 Specs, Features, Price And Rumors
While HTC generally impressed the market with the HTC U11, it was unfortunately unable to compete with industry powerhouses such as Samsung, Apple, and Google. It was an all-around solid phone, but with slightly outdated specifications and a design that didn’t look quite as slick as that of flagships like the Galaxy S8 or the new Google Pixel 2, it was difficult for the phone to keep up in an increasingly competitive high-end arena. With the release of the HTC U12, the company has the chance to take a pretty good smartphone and make it great. We’ve compiled some of the rumors floating around the web that give us a sense of what we can expect from the upcoming device.
While we don’t have any idea what the phone will be called, as it hasn’t even been announced yet, all bets point to the HTC U12 as the most logical step forward. It will certainly have to be a big change for the company in order to compete with new phones coming out from Samsung, Google, and even up-and-coming Chinese manufacturer Huawei.
HTC U12 Release Date
Perhaps the first question on everyone’s mind is when exactly we can expect the HTC U12. If the phone were to be announced at the Mobile World Congress, we would have had some idea of the specifics by this point. Odds are that the announcement and release is a little further out – perhaps sometime in late spring or early summer. We anticipate that the smartphone will be announced in May at the latest, with a release date around 30 days later – just as with its predecessor.
Launching the HTC U12 at the Mobile World Congress would probably be a poor choice for the company, considering we’re expecting the Galaxy S9 release right around the same time. By staggering the release date and pushing it back a little more, HTC might have a better chance at getting some significant sales as the hype around the S9 starts to die down.
HTC U12 Specifications
As far as leaks go, there honestly isn’t a lot of reliable information out there about what we can expect from the HTC U12. However, we can make some educated guesses as to what we’ll see based on past releases as well as what other flagships are doing.
There’s a possibility that the HTC U12 could feature a larger display than the U11. While it’s not possible to make a smartphone itself much bigger at this point without making it near-tablet sized, the current trend with smartphone design is to continually shrink bezels – thus increasing screen size by another means. It’s certainly possible that the HTC U12 will follow in this path, which may be a good thing considering one of the main areas that the HTC U11 was criticized was its dated design.
We also hope to see a dual-camera setup with the HTC U12. One of the main reasons that the U11 was unable to compete with the likes of the Pixel 2 and S8 was its lackluster camera – a failing in a feature that is very important to many smartphone users. With a dual-camera with beefed up specifications, it’s possible that the HTC U12 could capture a more significant portion of the market – especially considering that the base Galaxy S9 is expected to only have a dual-lens setup.
As far as power specifications go, the phone will almost certainly ship with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. As the most powerful chip currently on the market, any flagship has to either include Qualcomm’s chip or produce one of equivalent power, with the manufacturer largely setting the standard for high-end smartphone processor speeds. The HTC U11 featured two different models, available in 4GB and 6GB of RAM with either 64GB or 128GB of storage, and we expect we’ll see the same from the HTC U12. For the operating system, expect an HTC-skinned Android Oreo build.
HTC U12 Price
With several high-end flagships breaking the $1000 price point and more expected to do so later in 2018, the price of these premium phones is becoming more of a consideration for many buyers. One of the HTC U11’s strong points was its relative affordability when compared to competing models from Samsung and Google. We should expect comparable power to the best of the best at a more affordable price, with a price of around $650.
It will likely be a few months until we get more concrete information regarding the HTC U12, but until then we can take some educated guesses and take advantage of what little information we have. If there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s that there’s a lot riding on the release of the HTC U12. The company may never quite reach the market dominance that the likes of Samsung and Apple enjoy, but there’s definitely room for more than a few players in the smartphone scene – provided their devices have the chops to keep up.

HTC U12+ Leaked on Multiple Photos

HTC U12+ Leaked on Multiple Photos
HTC has been quiet for a long time. But if believing in the previous rumors and leaks, the company is going to get back its former popularity soon. We know, the HTC U12+ is going to be the company’s next flagship with many impressive features. And today, evleaks published a few photos of the spotted phone that confirms most of those specs.
As we can see, the HTC U12+ is using a full-screen design. But unlike many other flagships launched recently, it retains both the forehead and chin. They are narrowed a lot. On the forehead, we can see two camera sensors, a headset, and a few sensors. But there is no home button on the chin. So we assume it will be adopting full-screen gestures for an easier interaction with the phone.
Taking a peek at the back, we can say there are too many similarities with the LG V30. Say, it comes with a glass housing too. The fingerprint scanner is placed in the center of the upper part. The dual-camera is located horizontally and seems the sensors have different apertures. As you can see, the openings come in different sizes.
Taking into account the feeling of one-handed grip, it should sport a screen at around 6 inches. According to the previous leaks, the HTC U12+’s screen will provide a resolution of 2960×1440 and use an LCD6 panel. In terms of hardware, the handset is said to sport a Snapdragon 845 chip, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, 12+16MP rear camera, 8+8MP front camera, 3420mAh battery, and so on. But the biggest highlight should be the second-generation Edge Sense edge intelligent control technology, self-developed face recognition, IP68 waterproofing, and wireless charging.
HTC U12+ is expected to be released in mid-May and sold at the end of the month.
