"I don't know what you're talking about, I am absolutely loving this." Bryant's voice was thick with sarcasm. This was less than ideal but it was going a lot better than he had originally thought. "You know how those two are." He pauses for a moment to take a long swig of his drink. "I think they kind of always hoped that we would sort things out." They weren't the only ones that thought that. "Now they get a chance to play their version of god and put us back together. How about this, we just try and have a good night and then tomorrow we can go back to ignoring one another. Why ruin a good night? There's a open bar and a dance floor, I think we can do it, what do you say?"

'Appreciate it. I might, yeah. Who doesn't love hanging out in a love filled room with their ex? It fucking rules," The last sentence was muttered to herself into the cup as Genesis downed a decent bit of it. Unfortunately, the alcohol wasn't needed because of the anger at Bryant. Oh, that was there, but she was feeling another more frustrating feeling and that was not something she could handle sober. "This sucks. Even if we argued everything out when we split, putting us together is such fucking bullshit."

There was a lot Bryant wanted to say back to Genesis. He wanted to tell her that it was impossible to move on when he was still hung up on her. Instead, he gave her a small nod and went to get their drinks. It was nice to have a small break from her even if the task on hand felt eerily familiar. His break was far too short, before Bryant had a chance to get himself sorted he was headed back to their table with their drinks in hand. He slid down into his seat, placing her drink in front of her before he slung his arm around the back of her chair without a second thought. "It's a double. I thought you might need it." God knows he did.

Fuck, this was hard. The tension in the air felt very real and very heavy on Genesis' end. It was hard to know exactly how to feel, she just knew that there was more than one emotion running through her while talking to Bryant. Things left unsaid, deeds left undone, new conclusions having come to in his absence. But this wasn't the time or place, right? ...Right? "Not to sound like the shitty ex, but good. Honestly? You found someone that fast and I'd think you were just in it for some ass and wanted to disguise that need," She said and then nodded at his drink offer. "Jack and coke. Thanks-" Genesis tried for a smile and there was a ghost of a one, but it wasn't as strong as it should be.

A low amused chuckle falls from his lips. "You've figured me out." He takes a long pause in an attempt to build a little bit of suspense. "I want to lay a claim on you because I'm down bad for you and I don't want the guys thinking they have any sort of chance with you." Nixon does his best to keep a straight face to really sell it but the words just leave him before there's a shit eating grin on his face. "You're really gonna drag me like that? I definitely could bag a hottie like you. It hurts that you think I couldn't. I don't know if I want to keep up this friendship if you're gonna keep being mean to me. The guys think you're so nice and sweet, maybe I should tell them the truth and let them know that you're actually just a big bully."

"Oh, you know..." Trailing off with a shrug of her shoulders, eyes trained on his face, watching how a smirk quirks the corners of his lips. He would find this amusing. eyes rolling as he speaks again, "And there is the exact reason why." Shaking her head, this time in amusement, her facade of annoyance quickly dissolves as laughter falls from her lips. Hands moving to push at his chest, "Yeah, that's why? Not because you're trying to lay some weird sort of claim on me to your friends?" Was she taunting him? Yes, of course, she could never pass up the opportunity to rake him over the coals. "Also, no chance a loser like you could bag a total hottie like me," Winking at him with a flash of a cheeky grin.

Bryant agreed fully with Genesis. Dealing with petty drama seemed like a waste of time at a wedding. He hung onto her every word as she spoke. He knew he shouldn't find any joy in the fact that she wasn't dating anyone but he still found it. He felt lighter knowing that she wasn't seeing anyone. "I'm kind of in the same boat. A few dates that were duds. Went out with the guys a few times and that ended where those types of nights usually do but nothing official. I haven't really met anyone that I want to keep around for more than a night or two." The real fact of the matter was that he was still hung up on his ex and he was comparing everyone to her and it was no surprise that no one could match up to her. He finished off his drink before turning his attention back to her. "I'm gonna get another drink, do you want me to get you anything?" They had only been around each other for a short time but he already needed a little break.

A knack for being good when asked. That felt like a double meaning but Genesis pushed through it. Best not to think too hard on the idle observations of an ex. He could just be trying to get under her skin again. "I'd hope so, honestly. To be at a wedding and worrying about bullshit seems like the worst time to me," She commented idly, following his line of vision to the couple. A small smile appeared as she watched them until it was struck down by his questions. "Seeing...-Right. Well, if you're so wanting to know, not officially. There's been one or two dates with some odds and ends. Nothing panning out. Some just wanted some ass, some wanted love a little too quick for me. And you?"

Dallas can't help but match Lark's smile. "You're never bugging me." They looked hi over. "Of course you can show me your new costume. I would love to see it."

"Am I not supposed to use the credit card, my love?" SJ pulls Kris onto her lap the moment they're close enough. "Do you want to know what it was for or do I get to surprise you?"
