It's National Pizza Day!
Custom Content would like to celebrate this wonderful day. It's National Pizza Day! Whether your favorite is Chicago or New York style, cheese to a kitchen sink pizza, this is a food that brings the crowds together. This is very appropriate on this New Hampshire primary day. No matter what side of the aisle you reside, remember to go vote and have a slice! And, of your primary isn't happening today, just have a slice! Retirement Blog (8 Feb 2016)
Normally, Custom Content posts the retirement blog on Sundays, but this Sunday we had a little something else going on. It was called the Superbowl. So, I waited until Monday to post this week's blog. So far we have taking you in your small business journey from start up with Website to a full-blown social media package. So what do you do after this point? This is where we enter the maintenance phase. When most people are in active businesses, they try to do a lot of the maintenance themselves to save costs. This ends up probably causing that business more money then what they think they saved. One does well what one does often. This is especially true in small business. If your business is not social media marketing, you can often waste time, and therefore money, by trying to do things on your own in which you are not trained. This is where Custom Content can help. Social media marketing is our business. By allowing us to manage your social media marketing, this allows you to spend more time doing your actual business. You will make a tremendous amount more by doing that in which you were trained versus trying to do your social media on your own. This is just common sense, really. Like I just said, one does well what one does often. You should be earning money in your profession and then paying for a fraction of the time that you, personally, would have spent doing your social media marketing on your own. In a sense, think of Custom Content as the company to whom you outsource your social media marketing. When one is focusing solely on there profession, such as we are, we can do this much more efficiently. So to answer the question, what do you do now? The answer is really simple. You just do your business, and allow us at Custom Content to do ours. This, really, was the whole intent of retiring into a small business, correct? You want to be able to focus on that hobby that has become a business and not on the minutiae of running the business. This is where Custom Content comes to the rescue. We want your retirement to be enjoyable, not just another job. Custom Content International Facebook - Custom Content Twitter - Custom Content Finding synchronicity, one word at a time... peace

On This Superbowl Sunday
On the Super Bowl Sunday, don’t forget while you are watching the Puppy Bowl, those dogs that don’t have a home.
Custom Content is raising funds to help shelter dogs in the Houston area. We would love any help that anyone may we be able to lend.
These shelters are not able to raise funds for themselves to get the appropriate social media needed to find homes for these puppies.
Custom Content has started to separate fundraising accounts to be able to give either free or reduced price services to the shelters to help them find homes for their puppies.
You can donate by purchasing a t-shirt at our site on Booster or by giving a donation to us on Gofundme.
Anything would help. Even just a share on your twitter or facebook account would be awesome!

A Great Quick Read for New Docs and Practices
I've been published several times, but I'd always wanted to write a book, so I did. I woke up one morning and thought, "I want to write a book." I started with a feeling at 4:15 one summer morning and by 11:30 that night, I was published. This is a great quick read for new docs of all types, physicians, dentists, vets, chiropractors, anything that are starting a new practice. It is even free to some Kindle users! This book is backed, and fully endorsed, by Custom Content International . Retirement Blogging (31 Jan 2016)
Custom Content International
Facebook - Custom Content
Twitter - Custom Content
The Custom Content retirement blog got you up to the point of the uncomfortable stuff last week. I’m sorry. Nobody really likes to talk about the IRS and attorneys but those things have to be taken care of.
So, for this week’s post, I want to talk about business choice and business fears. I was speaking in person to a very wise client of mine about planning his retirement this week. I asked if he thought he’d start another business to offset the losses from retirement. He hesitated. This piqued my interests.
The first thing I asked from here was, what business he would start. He started with a long list of businesses that he knew he could make money doing.
I stopped him immediately. I said this is supposed to be your retirement, not a second career. “What are your hobbies?” I asked. Then I told him to let Custom Content make one of his hobbies a business. If he’s going to be doing them anyway, why not get the tax advantage. He’s now debating on the choice of a couple. Both are outdoors related.
His main fear was that there would be too many government guidelines on a business and that with the Internet, it might get too busy.
Wait… what? Too busy? That’s right. Too busy. He was going to just not do it,  pay for all of this hobby on his own when he could be enjoying it as a second profession.
I’d never heard of too busy… It’s the fear of the unknown. For most at retirement age, the Internet is a tool for checking email, catching up with friends in Facebook and finding a business online. For those of working age with many years left to go, it is our most valuable tool.
Just as this Web traffic can bring you in business, Custom Content can turn it off just as fast. We can make your pages non-existent with only trails of their history ever being there. Then, if you’re too busy, we can tone it down.
But where Custom Content is different is the fact that we don’t just get you going and leave you be. As a part of our small-business service package, we get you going and check in with you on a regular basis.
This way, there are no surprises. If there is a service I, personally, cannot help you with, I will get you to the person whom can. I’m not afraid to admit when something is above my pay grade.
If it is in your retirement dream, it can be achieved. Let Custom Content help you find the right path.

It's Your Business, Not Ours, Well Kinda

ø
It is a general belief of mine that when doing business with a small business, I and Custom Content do not interfere or impose our personal beliefs onto that business. As long as, said business is legal within the jurisdiction in which they are in business, Custom Contentwill gladly do business with them.
With this being said, there is one particular business that is getting the raw end of the deal, I believe, in the world of small business. This is the cannabis industry. Oftentimes, if a  dispensary is operating legally within their state, the Federal Government will not allow them to trade intra-state. This includes credit cards, bank accounts, even social media.
This to me is an infringement of your first amendment rights, just for starters. This is why Custom Content is starting a new marketing program just for businesses related to cannabis, it’s marketing, sales and consumption.
Regardless of how you feel on the topic, if you partake of 420 or if you are in this business, it should be your right to have social media about it.
From now until the end of Q1, 2016,Custom Content will be offering free and reduced services to all businessesin the cannabis industry.
These services include but are not limited to: websites, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumbler, Periscope, Vine and anything you can dream of.Custom Content will also set up blog services to help get your word out and drive more consumers to your site and thus to your store.
Unlike other Web services promising things for free, this really is. The only thing out of your pocket is any licensing fees if necessary. These would be those charged by third party vendors.
After Custom Content has you set up, we then enter into a weekly or monthly maintenance contract that fits your budget. You may walk away from this at any time. You only pay for what you use. Custom Content wants to see your business succeed! Let’s do this together!

How Else Can Social Media Help The World?
There was a topic that came up recently in my inbox. I have addressed the typical small businesses and their social media, the retirement age population and their social media, how to cut overhead, increase following, just about everything you can do to make your business the best possible.
The topic that came up to Custom Content this time was one that I felt really embarrassed that I forgot. What about the not-for-profit organizations, or NPOs. These companies need just as much exposure, but they don't typically have the budget. So, the wheels in my head got to turning... Yet, again...
What could I do to remedy this. Most of these companies start with a Facebook page and leave it with that. That is what I would call a "Grade D" social media marketing package. I have decided to create a special division of my company just for NPOs.
Just like I believe in the small business, I believe in the NPO. I  believe that it shouldn't take a huge loan or benefactor to get a business started, nor should it take that to make one thrive. This is why I am putting forth the effort for all NPOs at this time to have a social media marketing package with Custom Content for free. I will build a social network for you, including a Facebook page, Twitter account, a WordPress blog and Tumblr account. I will post to your account up to once a week for you.
I am running this "special" through the first quarter of 2016 as a pilot project. Maybe I will be flooded. Maybe, I won't have any interested NPOs. All that I ask is that at the bottom of every post, I get to tag Custom Content as the social media marketer that is driving your campaign. It is kind of a "I scratch your back, you scratch mine" kind of deal. As long as you are a legitimate NPO, school organization or anything of the like, I will work with you regardless of your cause.
I believe that everyone has a right to have their voice heard in this country. That is the point of the First Amendment and the reason I am able to type today freely. Let me help you and your NPO.
If you need to publish on a more frequent basis, I will offer my services on a 25% reduced fee schedule for NPOs through the end of the Q1, 2016 and as always, new websites and email packages are available for just the cost of licensing and software fees to any business. Custom Content wants to see you and your NPO succeed.

Kiva Zips is a Great Way to Get 0% Loans!
Kiva Zips is a great way to get 0% loans for small businesses. I have applied for one to expand my small business. It essentially works like a co-op. The first step is for the company to look at your drive, to test your drive.
They want to see how well you are going to market yourself. They want you to go to your social network to find approximately 10% of the loan amount as the initial investment. The beauty to the investor, or you guys, if that amount doesn't get funded, you get your money back. As the payments are made monthly, you get your money back to directly to your PayPal account. This is a great option for Custom Content to expand without breaking the bank and going deep into debt. I would suggest it to anyone!
Following is a the message they suggest sending to your contacts:
I am happy to announce that Custom Content International, my custom web and blog company, is crowdfunding a 0% interest loan on Kiva Zip. Kiva is the first and largest micro-lending service in the world that has distributed $709 million over 10 years, in 85 different countries, among 1.5 million small businesses.
I am currently in a private fundraising period, during which I have 15 days to get 14 lenders in order to make it on the public platform where anyone on Kiva Zip can lend to me. The funds from this loan will go towards expansion and marketing.
I would like to ask you to lend as little as $25 (which you will get back!) so that I can progress to the public fundraising period. If you would like to support me, please follow this link to my profile page  https://zip.kiva.org/loans/17501/i/li8u. This is the only way your loan will be tracked as coming through me. Thanks for your support, I am honestly so grateful!
I sincerely appreciate your support!
Thank you!
As my loyal supporters, I would love to have you on board as my business partners!

The Business Necessity of Twitter
Custom Content International
Facebook - Custom Content
Twitter - Custom Content
In the cyber land of #hashtag everything, one may ask, what is the return on investment of Twitter? This is such an abstract question, it’s hard to give a concrete answer.
There are many variables that goes into this answer. There is one thing I do know, since I launched a new Twitter account dedicated solely to Custom Content, our traffic has gone up significantly.
I always have known that Twitter is crucial to a social media marketing platform. I have been using it for years. But, I wanted to put it to a test. I have seen numbers on the Internet ranging from 45-55% of your followers will visit your site regularly. In addition to that, 65-75% of your followers will re-tweet your posts.
Those are some pretty heavy numbers. Since starting a new site dedicated solely to just Custom Content, my numbers have been very similar.
For each business, the clicks to your site will mean a different amount of income, however. That is pretty obvious.  But, Twitter is definitely a necessary part of what I call the four wheels of social media. You must have Twitter, Facebook, a website and a blog.
I, personally, even double up on my blog and post on both WordPress and Tumblr. By posting in several places, you put your same message in what is almost an infinite loop on the Internet, thus increasing the search ranking.
I hope this helps. Contact us if we can be of any assistance to you or your business.

Retirement Blogging (26 Jan 2016)
Yes, I know that I am late! I'm sorry! Guess what, it is due to my retirement business. I was travelling due to business and I am just now getting here. All of my posts have been behind. But, I didn't forget about you. I didn't want to post just anything, I want to post quality for you on here. Anyway, on with the show...
So, I believe last week, we left off with the blog. You have your business in place up to the blog. You have a semi-handsome, copywriter writing your blog posts on a schedule that fits your business's needs and driving your sales up. Where do you go from here?
At this point you will need to most likely need to consult with an account and/or an attorney for you tax strategy according to your state and country. I cannot give a blanket statement on this because I am not an accountant or attorney, nor do I claim to be. I am only a small business owner.
All I do know is that if you don't set this up appropriately, you can be taxed outrageously in the future. Also, for some companies, you can set your company up virtually, in states like Nevada, with the appropriate help of an attorney.
At the same time as this, you need to be checking into appropriate licensure. Some businesses that deal with the public need to have a business license according to the state in which you live. You can check with your attorney or do a quick Google search to find out about your particular state and country.
I know that today's blog isn't all rainbow's and butterflies. This isn't the most exciting part of starting a business. This is actually a service that Custom Content does for you. We will serve as your representative for you, as a liaison between you and your accountant or attorney if you need us, or help you to make decisions that you may be faced with when first encountering these new people.
Remember, there is a little bit of an entrepreneur in all of us. We just need to polish that person to find him or her sometimes.
Until next time kids, focus on your retirement goals.

Retirement Blogging (17 Jan 2016)
Due to the popular response of the first post on Blogging Your Way Into Retirement, I have decided to make this an ongoing series. I am going to take you step-by-step through the process of building your retirement into a small business and unlocking all of the tax advantages it has to offer.
The first step to all of this is going to be define your mission. Yes, every business has to have a mission statement. "Making as much money as possible" is probably not the best mission statement to display to consumers, but we can go with it if you want.
After you get your mission statement in place and you are happy with it. You are going to start the wheels turning. The next step is to have a website created with good quality content. It must be appealing to the eye, not too busy, have words that the audience understands and have content that is not too lengthy. Be straightforward and to the point without bullet points. This is not a high school PowerPoint presentation. We don't do bullet points here!
After you have your website up and running, you need to attach a blog to it. Most likely, you are not going to be doing the blogging yourself. You are retired! Custom Content will be doing that for you on a regular basis, driving your SPECIFIC consumers to your website.
As your business starts to expand, we will need to start talking about tax strategy, social media networking and a variety of other topics. This is enough for today, however. MISSION -> WEBSITE -> BLOG. This will put the BOOM in babyBOOM! Let's make your retirement work for you, not you work for your retirement.
If you have any specific questions you would like addressed on this topic, feel free to send them to [email protected] and put RETIREMENT in the subject line.
Can't wait to talk with you next week! Peace, fellow retirees!
