“You’re welcome.” Allie did her best to keep her face neutral when he mentioned Erica. “Things are going well then?”

Damien nodded his head a little bit. “That they are actually. How about you? How are things going?”

“I just wanted to see the place.” Allie mused, looking around. “You don’t have to go through any trouble just for little old me.” She promised, chewing her lip as she took it in before looking at him. “This is amazing. I’m so proud of you.”

“It’s no trouble.” Damien told her, while he looked over at her for a moment. “Thank you, ma. I have Erica to thank mostly. She was able to get me this space. And well here we are.” He explained as he moved over to her.

“Hey, it was all you.” She chuckled, shaking her head. All she did was get him a decent spot. “It’s really awesome.” Erica looked around the place, loving how it looked. “Of course.” She turned back to him with a smile.

“It was partly me but I couldn’t have done this without you, ma.” Damien told her honestly. He really believed that. “You make me into a better man, Erica.” He was trying especially for her. “Plus Andres loves having you around. So ma, will you be my girlfriend?”

“I see you finally found your way here.” Damien joked when he seen her. Of course he was still working on it, but it was opening soon.  “You can take a seat anywhere you want and I’ll grab something if you want.”

“Thank you for making this happen. I really appreciate it.” The restaurant was almost ready to open up. It seemed like his siblings were helping a lot which he was grateful for. Damien glanced over at Erica for a moment. “Can I ask you a question?”

Erica smiled a little sadly, nodding. It was probably one of her greatest pains but she did her best not to dwell on it. She turned her head when he pointed out the little boy and she couldn’t help but smile as she spotted him. “He’s beautiful.” She watched him play for a moment before she turned back to Damien. “You do?” Her smile brightened at his words, she couldn’t help it because she’d kind of been hoping he would be on that page as well but she hadn’t wanted to put on the pressure if he was more into… casual.

“Thank you, ma.” Damien watched Andres for a moment before turning his attention back to Erica. “Yeah, I do.” He smiled back at her for a moment. Honestly he didn’t feel pressured at all. Damien knew what he wanted, knew what his endgame was. Erica had taken him for a surprise and he liked it actually. He really liked her. “I’m not going to lie to you my past..it isn’t pretty.”

Erica smiled, though a little sadly. “Um… I love kids.” She shrugged, glancing down. “I can’t… I can’t have children… of my own but I’ve loved watching my nieces grow up…”

“I’m sorry that you can’t have children.” He glanced over at his son for a moment. “See that little boy?” His eyes went back to Erica. “He’s mine. I haven’t been keeping him from you. I just wanted to make sure that this was going somewhere before I brought someone into his life. And you, ma I feel like it is going somewhere.”

“Mind if I sit…?” Audrey asked, taking a seat beside him before he could even respond. She let out a small sigh, reaching into the stroller to pick Christian up. She had never imagined wanting to have a child, but spending all this extra time as a babysitter was making her wonder. She glanced toward the man sitting beside her and followed his sights toward the boy. “He is beautiful…” 

“Feel free, it’s an open spot.” He glanced over at her for a moment, his eyes drifting to the stroller before back to Andres. “Thank you, ma.” He glanced over at her for a moment. “Yours?” He gestured towards the baby.

Allie had been walking through the park and had spotted Damien, smiling to herself. She was about to go over to him when she saw that he had his son with him.  She had to admit, the idea that he had a son was still a bit crazy to her. Things had gone well when they had gone for ice cream and she couldn’t deny how much the smile on his face as he looked at his son made her melt.  “Hey.” She said softly, walking towards him.

Damien noticed her after Andres took off. His eyes drifting up to hers. “Hey yourself, ma. You can take a seat if you want.” He smiled. “Not unless you are busy.”

Petunia was walking through the park on her way home from class when she noticed a little boy run in front of her and drop something. An action figure, from the looks of it. Picking it up, she followed him to his dad, holding the toy in her hand. “Sorry, I don’t mean to be weird or anything, but I think your son dropped this,” she said, holding it out for him to see.

Damien glanced up at her after Andres had ran off. His eyes drifting to the action figure. Reaching out, he took it from her. “Thank you. He would totally be lost without this.”

Juli had brought Simon and Sadie to the park and was watching them play together when she saw a man and someone who she assumed was his son.  She smiled as he ran back off to ball. “My kids know that my ten minutes can be talked to into a half hour. I’m a push over.”

Damien looked over at her for a moment, and he chuckled lightly. “Same. I mean sometimes he knows ten minutes is ten minutes but then he also knows that he can push it sometimes.”

She had stuffed her hands back in her pockets when Damien came up toher, not sure if she should reach for a handshake, go for a hug or anything at all. “Hey,” she smiled back, trying to appear not at all awkward. “I’d love to catch up. How have you been? You look like you’re doing well.”

Damien wasn’t sure what to do here either. It didn’t seem like it was awkward but maybe it was. “Want to sit down or something?” He offered. “Things have been a bit crazy I guess. My siblings came back with me when I went to trip to Mexico and so did my son. So things have been a bit crazy but it helps me deal with the break up from Allie. What about you?”

Erica smiled. “Of course you can.” She nodded as she sat down next to him. “What’s up?”

Damien’s eyes drifted to Andres for a moment before back to Erica. “How do you feel about children?”
